Wait a minute that claw

Wait a minute that claw

Did anyone else need a guide for this? I still have trouble with it.

My memory for this game is poor.
If you didn't watch that demo that showed this off was there any indication that you had to examine it to get the code?
Fuck, does this mechanic even get ever reused?

I think the only clue was one of those loading screen hints
no it wasn't reused at all

Truly puzzle kino

Just rotate every piece twice

pretty sure the journal entry said something about looking at the claws

>I think the only clue was one of those loading screen hints
Based todd.

the puzzle that turned BOYS into MEN amirite guise?? ;p

Reminder that in the shitty release version the PC UI had no mouse function
Reminder that in the release version the rotation did not even work on PC

doesn't say anywhere you can rotate and look at things in your inventory. People would have noticed you could in the course of time but this happens right at the beginning of the game

Various diaries connected to the dungeons often describe how the key works if they exist. In one instance, I think in the Civil War quest line, the claw lays on its back with the palm being lighted by a torch in front of the door. You basically have to be a nincompoop to not figure this shit out.

yeah pretty sure i saw that loading screen around the first time i got to that tiny town whatever it was called
then saw the thing in the desk and was like welp i guess i'm stealing that
only way later i did the dungeon

Arvel the Swift's journal mentions the claw.

>not remembering the E3 presentation where it shows how to open up the door

yeah but who would stand around reading shitty 4 page long "books" in papyrus font in a fps game

The inspect function is mentioned no where in the manual.

I unironically tried every combination possible for the door until it worked. I can’t believe how much more patience for things I had back in highschool. It never even occurred to me to look up a guide online or anything, now if I can’t figure something out in ~5 minutes or less I look it up.

People with above room temperature IQ, I bet.

what if I live in Australia

I remember that I kept looking the drawings in the room.

Even if you don't know how to rotate the claw there aren't many possible combinations. Hell, the door starts with the combination to open it, just inverted.

>what if I live in the continent closest to Hell
Why would you play RPGs when you can step outside and fight actual monsters?

lmao me too

>spoiling the game for yourself

I once played MGS3 without watching any of the trailers and it was glorious.

>hmm this door can be opened with the claw i have in my inventory
>i bet the claw has no hint at all on how to solve this puzzle, nope, no sir

threads like this are either the entire board memeing me, or the pinnacle of brainlettery

see

There's a button in the UI that says INSPECT. Jesus. This is why I have no hope for any future games made by Bethesda. Even this babby shit is giving people a hard time so the next games will be even dumber than before.

ty reinstalling.
i de-installed it when i got stuck at this puzzle.

maybe if the mechanic was ever used in any other context it wouldn't be an issue lol
