Is this game just impossible to find at a reasonable price? I don't even care about the collection aspect at this point, I just want to play the damn game without paying for the equivalent of a game 10 years newer.
It doesn't help that the cover is fuck awful.

I was lucky, it was expensive to order online where I live and the closest physical copy I could find was 500km away, but I passed by there on a road trip so I bought it then, if I were you I would just hack my ps3, that seems like the easiest way.
Benjamin Green
They cut so much content from this game. it wasn't till 4-5 did they not cut content.
Juan Walker
If you're looking online, odds are slim. Yakuza's big business now, so if you didn't pick it up before everyone lost their shit over Y0, tough titty. Best bets would be to give ebay a shot, in the hopes of scoring a sly copy or go trawling through shops.
Dominic Lewis
or you can wait till the remake of 3 comes out.
Evan King
It's difficult for me to reason with buying it at pretty much full price when I've already bought several similar games from the series, and there's many more to come soon. I'd consider hacking if I didn't already have like 50 games, it's just not worth the hassle, or the possibility that I fuck up. Shit sucks, I'm sure it must exist out there in a smaller store, or in someone's house who tried to sell it and desisted. Digging around I've found people asking for as little as $10, but they aren't responding anymore.
What's worse is that I barely find copies of the more famous games anywhere, it sucks living in a shitty third world country.
Liam Reed
$50 plus shipping expensive lol try getting devil's third for wiiu
Brayden Foster
They really need to consider releasing a 3-5 remaster like they did for Kingdom Hearts for guys like you. While not as great as Y0 or Y2 they are really really good.
Oliver Jones
I already have 4 and 5, it's 3 that's the problem because of the lack of a digital release and smaller supply. I kind of doubt they'd do that only because Kiwami seems to be doing very well, and it's a lot of people's first versions of the series, jumping from Kiwami 2 to HD 3 would be jarring for general audiences, which is kind of sad.
Aiden Robinson
I checked Amazon, it says it's $47.99 that isn't expensive
Oliver Watson
>Yakuza 3, 4, 5, and Dead Souls Collection for PS4 >1080p 60FPS >$50 Would you buy it?
Caleb Perez
That's what you get for being a secondary bitch who waited until that memegame 0 came out. Mutha fucka!
Leo Reyes
For a 10 year old game from a recent console it is. The game is only that expensive because there's no digital version. Played 4 in 2012, lost interest due to the long wait for 5. I only recently regained interest and decided to play them all.
Xavier Green
I'd love a physical copy of 5, but I own the others so it'd be a hard sell for me.
Alexander Clark
Ok wtf, just found a copy for 30, what is your issue, op?
Isaiah Murphy
No, that's like $38 US that's cheap
Carter Adams
Where? I only find it at such low prices in sites with no international shipping.
Elijah Nguyen
Even if they were to remake 3, it could end up being inferior to the original like Kiwami 2
Austin Jenkins
>being inferior to the original like Kiwami 2 Not this meme again, K2 is only inferior if your only metric is amount of content, everything in both games is as good or even better in K2 (unless you really liked the jazz).
Jace Powell
Better how? Cut original content, worse gameplay, worse performance. Graphics sure are super nice and shiny, shame that they also forgot to put different times of the day with different lighting rather than having only day/night with that shitty green filter. Don't get me wrong, it's cool to have a new engine and "new" ideas put into an older game but it doesn't really work out when they shit out unfinished game for 60$. Even Kiwami 1 didn't have this much problems and it was priced better.
Joseph Carter
The story is conveyed in a better more realistic way, the scene where Kiryu drops a chandelier to some goons comes to mind. The gameplay is definitely not worse, and that's mostly about taste. The cut content is bad, I won't say it isn't, but as far as K2 goes there's plenty enough from an objective perspective. 2 may have more, but K2's amount is good too.
Does this mean it was good to remove? Fuck no, but there's still enough content, and the improvements to the storytelling, mechanics and combat make for a better first experience in my opinion.
Christian Jackson
EBay, PAL version
William Ramirez
Just buy a fliptop mod and swapmagic or find someone selling a Free McBoot memory card or make it yourself. They sell for anywhere between $10-20. Then you can just burn any PS2 game you want no problem and play it. All you have to do for FMCB is apply a quick patch to the iso before burning and your good to go.
Brody Collins
You IDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOT! YAKUZA 3 IS ON PS3 NOT PS2 YOU MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!
Gabriel Ward
>PS2
Julian Perez
Man fuck you guys I'm tired and people were talking about Yakuza 2.
Anyway $50 is nothing so whats the problem
Henry Williams
Dumb 0 fags getting jewed is great.
Camden Sullivan
HAHA! THIS!
Lucas Baker
It'll probably get cheaper. Yakuza 2 was up to like $70 for a while. Just let the series cool down from all the new 0 people.
Cameron Adams
YAKUZA 2 DROPPED DOWN BECAUSE OF A REPRINT AND THERE WAS ALREADY A YAKUZA 3 REPRINT AND THE PRICE NEVER CHANGED SO IT'S NEVER GOING DOWN FUCKING BEEEEEEYOTCH!
Nathan Young
Dude it's cheaper than it was when it was released and it still holds up. If you're a fan of the series it shouldn't be an issue.
Chase Ward
It does make me feel slightly superior for having recognised the greatness of the series since the start and picking up each game one at a time.
Anthony Cook
>spending money with this little thought A 10 year old game will never be worth $50 unless it's some remaster or for a collection.
Nolan Taylor
Sega reprints 3 and 4 every once in a while, just be patient. Or go through PAL versions, those have better covers, if my memory serves me right. I had the same trouble as you, I eventually found all my Yakuza games on my local stores though. Got this one for $15 on Gamestop.
Lucas Price
>the greatness of the series since the start The first game was trash though, unless you mean you started with 2. Also >implying anyone who hasn't played every game in a series just got into it
Charles Morris
Oh fuck off with this nonsense. The game is worth $50 and is great. What's with this meme of old games not being worth $50 but people trip over themselves to spend $60 to pre-order the latest 8 hour "cinematic experience".
If you're too cheap to buy a good game then that's fine, but don't bitch and whinge about you're shit taste like anyone else can do anything about it.
Jacob Morgan
Not sure why they didn't put Y3 on PSN when they did 4/Dead Souls/5.
Evan Baker
>japanese version costs around 12$, just checked ebay >english version costs around ~30$, but you can find copies for less than 20$ from time to time
Dunno mate, check around. You can find good prices if you know where to look for them.
Isaac Green
Something to do with licenses for music or the magazines featured in the game was what I heard. It's typically why these things get pulled anyway.
Angel Morgan
Ah, I'd have figure it'd be some dumb excuse about the game being programmed with disc reading in mind. They specifically had to patch Y5 during localization to support being fully off the drive since it was disc-only in Japan.
Dylan Wilson
Nah, 99 times out of a hundred, it's because of licensing issues. The exception is usually stuff like Nier, which isn't available digitally because God hates us.
Liam Turner
The series was even more niche back then, spending the extra it'd probably take to get up on PSN probably wasn't worthwhile. Also the Japanese PSN never got a digital release of 3 either, so it could've needed some extra work to get working properly, like 5 did.
Brayden White
They always were expensive. I bought Yakuza 1 and 2 in 2013 for 40 euro each, I couldn't get those games at a cheaper price. One reason is because these games were so rare before the mass hype started with Yakuza 0 in 2016, simply because every Yakuza game was a big flop in the west and sold maybe a few thousand units, which made barely sense since the games are from a very high quality and appeal not purely on the Japanese market, sure, the mini games does, but the actual plot is always a very good written stylish gangster plot with great directed cutscenes and a very high production value. These games sold in Japan like GTA in the west.
Isaac Price
It's mostly because SEGA can't market shit. They tried to make Y1 look like the next GTA, even though they at least got it a proper dub in the process.
Then it took Sony to kick them in the ass and help get Y5 localized, and then Y0, and eventually Y6. Least the Y0/Kiwami numbers are looking great over here compared to the last couple.
Nathan Smith
I bought it for $20 new last week.
Picked up a mint copy of Yakuza 2 for $15 just before christmas.
Based Australia.
Jose Morgan
Got mine from Play Asia for about 60 bucks I think. Brand New.
Zachary Nguyen
>picked up yakuza 3 for $9 at ebgames >bought yakuza 4 for $8 on psn >bought yakuza 5 for $12 on psn >bought yakuza 0 for $36
Australia is truly based, it also made me confused because I constantly saw posts about how yakuza 0 was too expensive yet it was pretty cheap here.
John Thomas
got mine for 30 like 5 years ago
Ethan Rodriguez
Yeah, Y1 had one of the rare English dubs which were equal to the original, they even got Mark Hamill and Michael Madsen as voice actors (while Madsen was probably cheap to get at the time, this guy always sound amazing). Sega tried very hard to sell this game in the west, but I agree, their marketing was as bad as it got with a completely false comparison to GTA, Yakuza is more like Shenmue, but even that was widely unknown in the west, the best comparison they could come with were "Double Dragon in a Sandbox" and then they maybe would sold way more copies in the west.
But on the other hand, if this would be the case, the later entries probably wouldn't be those stylized gangster dramas with a perfected fighting system, they would be just GTA clones.
Mason Bennett
I know your pain, user I know it
Dominic Hill
I don't get how the combat can be incredibly fustrating and poor most of the time but also feel satisfying.
Alexander Lewis
got this at my local gamestop for like 10 bucks kek
Asher Harris
I spent months looking for it until recently when it came up preowned online. Great game.
Alexander Ortiz
I'm trying as well op. I just got 4 for 20 buck at eb a few hours ago, but none of my local stores sell it. I have to try and get it online for 50 dollars.
Jason Lewis
>Look game up on ebay >$40
I don't get it
Xavier Powell
...
Angel Anderson
Yui or rina
Jack Cruz
Fellas, isn't the real question: When will we get Yakuza Kenzan? I think that the game has a plot involving underage prostitution, which is why it's been deemed taboo for the west. Strange, it's not like the other Yakuza games are family friendly.
Jonathan Nguyen
It's disk only and it was just reprinted recently. Dead Souls would most likely be stuck at $40 too if it was reprinted with the rest of them.
Ian Cooper
looked on ebay it is £30 checked on rental site, it is a 6+ day wait
Connor Flores
Only 10 euros here.
Elijah Bailey
Before 0 came out this was sub-$10 at gamestop
Just buy the reprint, the series could use the support.
Carson Bennett
>dat PSN sale not long ago with cheap as fuck Yakuza.
Good times.
Brayden Fisher
Y0 didn't go on sale on the EU store
Oliver Ortiz
That seems weird, this was back in november, I think it was a ps plus discount.
Isaiah Cooper
Australia tends to be pretty fucking great when it comes to gaming, supply is always so much greater than demand.
>Switch's sold out everywhere on the planet >Readily available everywhere in Aus, walk into literally any store since Day 1 and find piles of them >Already "as new" ones for sale on Gumtree for half RRP within months of release
Christian Perry
Goromi that reminds me, who were the hostesses in vanilla 1?
