I liked how the overworld got brighter as you progressed. It was the first game I played that did that and I enjoy that to this day. My favorite is probably the villa in Assassins Creed 2

Also
>implying the carnival games weren't rad as fuck

...

I was very young when I got this for my birthday. I liked it but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't figure out how to beat the clown boss.

>Glover was on the PS1
THe fuck? I thought it was a N64 exclusive

I didn't know it had an N64 port for the longest time.

It might as well be. The N64 port is the good version of the game. It also came out on PC iirc

>Glover
>bad
What the fuck, OP?

>glover
>bad
I blame the fucking game grumps for forcing this shitty meme. unless you specifically mean that you played the ps1 version of glover and it was bad, because yeah that one's shit

Imagine what a modern glover would look like in UE4 or something.

>people are implying that glover is bad
what the fuck people?

It's been a while, but I remember the game being hard as hell once you got to the amusement park. Was I just bad?

i remember playing this game at my cousins house while her dad screamed and got drunk and beat his wife, she'd start crying and hide under her bed and i'd just keep playing

PS1 version was pretty shit tier.

It was fairly difficult to 100%. Finding all the cards and doing all the tasks was pretty grulling.

The entire Sonic library.

I just recently started playing through Glover for the first *real* time, after owning the N64 cartridge since our local Blockbuster went out of business years and years ago.

It's kind of ugly, but it's a solid, fun game. Wonder why it never caught on as a classic or at least a hidden gem.

Hard yes.
Bad no.
It had some of the best cheat codes and there was even a way to learn them in game.

Hasbro, the company that owned the studio that made it, had a sequel already planned.

You can find advertisements for it if you know where to look

Really? Let's assume I don't know where to look - got anything to share?

>Rayman 1
>Bad
Poor bait. It's artstyle, music and level design is god tier

What's wrong with the PS1 version? I always played the N64 version at my cousin's place as a kid

A build of the game was found & leaked for people to play.

Looks very 'inspired' by Banjo Kazooie.
Not to mention, kinda lame. I can see why they didn't bother finishing it

I wouldn't let an early build of the game reflect the final product.

That looks pretty neat. I love N64 Beta stuff. is right that it looks pretty Banjo, though. I can't wait to play the ROM.

Looks like there's a solid concept there, but at the same time it just seems pretty boring.
Might toss it on my Everdrive later and mess around. Might be more interesting to play than watch

Here's the reason it was scrapped:
lowlevelsoul.wordpress.com/2015/02/25/the-cancellation-of-glover-2/

TL;DR, Someone at Hasbro ordered too many copies of the first game than the amount people usually did but the demand wasn't there so while the first one was decently successful they couldn't justify pushing out a sequel with an over-stock of the original game that no retailers wanted.

Bump

Thanks for betatesting. I really didn't have any idea either and I was playing ps1 most of my childhood and bought N64 only last year. I kinda like Glover with it.

I only got it because Nintendo Power said it would have horse riding.

Also Quest 64 + Aidyn Chronicles were the only medieval RPG's on the 64.

I remember going to a friend's house and playing with pic related with thinking it was a great game and trying to convince my mom to buy it for me.
Since we were poorfags and I could only get a game either on my birthday or Christmas I made the bargain that this would take the slot of both of those for that year.
I never regretted anything faster in my life after playing it for more than 15 minutes. I felt so bad I wasted my mom's money on this piece of work.

Ordered this shit for the PC off the scholastic book fair
it was a good game

>Glover
>Bad

I prefer the 64 version better

glover was fine

I hope you're joking, nigger. Glover was a good game back then. At the very least it was original and the music was fantastic.

I knew it was bad, but it was one of only a few games I had at the time, so I just kept playing it.

>mfw i have always liked this game

Where's your face?

You now realize that Glover came out first on the PC.

The music is really bad and there's a lot of personality that's just gone from the game
youtu.be/rA9qkrwpMes

That's really interesting. Also really frustrating. I really liked glover as a kid and I remember being really excited when I saw that jaws-esque glover 2 teaser and then being upset when I realized a couple years later that it was never coming. I can't believe it's because some dumbass fell for a bulk discount

literally get good, faggot

>Game Grumps

There's your problem.

We Q64 fans no longer have faces user.

Fuck ups like that are apparently more common than people discuss.

The OST for the PS1 and PC were equally as bad. Those instruments are so grating on the ears, at least for the Atlantis Realms

No regrets.

huh. you're right.

Particularly because of this piece
youtu.be/m22anr-tpGY

>PS1 version
Yeah I bet it was bad that you got the shitty version of the game.

that faggot from gay gramps did a video for glover and he trashed it constantly because he sucks dick at video games. now we got a bunch of kiddos on Sup Forums parrotting that shit like it's complete objective fact.

GHRRFT BRFFFTERF

only had the psONE port, and learned recently that it removes like half of the game. I feel like my childhood is a lie

>Somebody at Hasbro fucks up big time
>Somebody else suffers the consequences
Wow

...

youtube.com/watch?v=5nbYxEP2tDE

What a shitload of fuck

Yeah I was pretty sure the pc version had the same ass midi soundtrack as the ps1 version, but it's a lot harder to come by info on the pc version, since you can emulate the ps1 version really easy, but glover pc was made for like, voodoo graphics cards and that shit is hard

>mfw the "glover is bad" game grumps narrative is so strong it made a glover dgq run get scheduled during the awful games done quick block

Is it considered a bad game?

Do you feel Nintendo Power's review & score of 6.3 is justifiable?

I think when Henry said, "It's more like a trip to the dentist than a quest." is a good description of the game. Thanks Henry.

>Its uninteresting.
>no characters
>no charm and or charisma

Like... every jump'n run has puzzles already. And the N64 has dozens of such games from Rare and Nintendo. I don't want to play a stupid hand going through stupid uninspired worlds that look like parcours.
it's difficult but not rewarding. I only finished it out of pride.

You must have played the ps1 version then

Die Hard.
1 & 2 are okay, but I found 3 is amusing when you use wiper to clean blood off your front glass, also stomping helicopter.

>glover
>bad
fuck you too buddy
