But why not make this character a woman?

>but why not make this character a woman?
You're a teammember during planning phase and this questions drops. How do you respond Sup Forums?

Depends on the context.

I would respond with "Elaborate".

plead to the investor about how changing it will impact the budget, even exaggerate a bit by saying it would require a huge amount of editing to the script and could push back deadlines and stuff.

"Okay, but she keeps the dick."

>why not make it a man?

>it would require a huge amount of editing to the script
- Just change "he" to "she", user! What are you, sexist?

Think about whether the character being male is integral to the plot/their character. If not, then say sure why not

>planning phase
>impacting the budget in any significant way
I don't think he meant to imply you already had voice lines and models and shit already.

>but why not make this character a woman?
But why? While it will help promote our jewish overlord's current focus ideology, we will suffer a significant loss of sales to the fact.

"There is too many male characters in the medium right now. What we need is diversity, diversity and more diversity. It's the only way to make a product enjoyable for every gender and demographic."
Tyrolina Wewuz, head of the PR department

>You can't just make King Arthur a girl!

>she grows huge breasts

Disagree.

thats what you think, one edit here one edit there, then it has to go to the editor again, delay over delay.
also whats even the problem if you have to make a male character into a woman, this early in development you could just introduce a new one, improved one.

Ignore her because she didn't give any reasons as to why we should.

...

My artistic vision will not be questioned!

Or this

market research shows that audiences respond better to male characters

we need to nuke japan more
So not a single one would survive

the list of countries to be nuked is a long one, and japan is nowhere near even the top 50.

Alright, we will give her a nice bust and buttocks, and a beautiful dress.

She'll also get a peen.

"Is this game currently being developed by a Japanese company for the Japanese audience? No, next question."

"He was, he's just post-op. How closed minded of you Krystal."

The penis is a crucial plot point in the story.

Did you just assume the character's gender?

>Then just make another character a girl instead

>How do you respond Sup Forums?
shut up fag

What do you think it'd add to the game?

"All the characters who currently have dicks must always have dicks throughout the game's story, all of their dicks are major plot points.

"why don't you just make your own goddamned game, you dumb bitch?"

the biggest target audience and where ALL THE MONEY is, is still men
I wont say anymore... what do you think investors? :)

diversity
literal checkmate

can't counter it, you're fired if you think diversity is meaningless

"We had a strong vision for the story and this character and it was decided that our character would be a man. Of course we like to think that the game is full of a rich cast of diverse and interesting characters with their own unique perspectives and motives that the player will be both intrigued by and engrossed in. Our office is full of people from all walks of life, not just men and women but liberals and conservatives as well, a melting pot of different viewpoints both political, social and religious. This has never interfered with our game development or our office morale, and when we were in the conceptual stages for our game a lot of characters both male and female were presented. When these concepts were finalized nobody questioned it, and I like to think we're all happy with the game we're making, regardless of whether or not it stars a male or a female. Great question though."

That's easy
>just adding women
>diverse
I bet you think there's only two genders you fucking close-minded bigot, the only reasonable course of action is to give a girl character a huge dick, or make them a girl (male)

>Hmm...well done...well done I must say. But what if we made that character a little girl?

What's your response?

>Tyrolina Wewuz
Thanks for laugh, I really needed this today desu

ok

Why not?
Would their only defining trait be "woman" or would they be a character first, woman second.
Or even third.

>why don't we make her really cute? That way nobody can resist her!

has the right idea.

I agree

>"Its a Sim City game Janet what the fuck are you talking about?"

That's the worst excuse I've ever heard.

There's no right answer. A character could be anything. You can exchange male and female for most media and nothing would change. It only comes down to tropes "this has to be a guy because we like generic action flicks and our game caters to that", or traits "this has to be a girl because she's less muscular and vulnerable than the average man so her pulling this shit has a different effect"

Good idea!
>turn character into a 10/10 waifu with gigantic jiggly tits and revealing clothes

Reminder that the single biggest gaming demographic is middle-aged women

Because the main love interest is a girl too

I would never be working on a slot machine app in the first place.

Reminder that this demographic solely plays mobile games and does not account for AAA game sales in the slightest.

we are making a console/PC game, Tyrolina, those graphs are for phone games :)

but thats because nobody makes good girl characters user.
dont you see that you need to break the cycle to be inclusive? you didnt watch girly tv shows either because they had no badass cool dudes, and EVERYBODY secretly wanted to watch those shows so we need to do it vice versa for gaming now

Reminder that mobile games are where all the money is and every studio gets demoted to mobage factory eventually

>doesn't know about moe

fine by me, just convince the investors, honey

>i quit

>you didnt watch girly tv shows
o-of course not

I evaluate the fucking option

I realize I'm fucked and obey in silence until I land another job.

why make it?
nah, games like Wolfenstein 2 can tell you otherwise
