Valkyria Chronicles 4
the theme is inspired but I doubt they'll make it as gritty as it deserves to be
...
...
Didn't one of these just come out a few months ago?
Sure would be nice if it wasn't shit this time around.
REMOVE THE RETARDED RAGNITE
What the fuck is wrong with Valkyria's tanks?
>dude look at all this armor xd
>but a critical part glowing blue that can make the entire thing blow up with a few bullets is completely exposed
JUST
Article title: King on the ground. What is the true strength of tanks?
The three dudes at the bottom are tank crews. (I guess drivers?)
APCs are in the game (lower right on pg 2)
When Hafen (MCs tank) gets upgraded you can apply new stickers to it.
I've never played a Valkyria Chronicles game, but since it's coming to Switch i'm interested in getting it when it releases. What do you think of the series, is it worth it?
if you like turn based tactics, sure.
...
first game is okay, rest is weeb trash
this will probably also be that
3rd game is the best and one of the best trpg I ever played, no reason the fourth will be worse. Don't listen to this casual cancer
The first game is a diamond.
2 sucks ass.
3 is underrated by asshats who cherrypick pictures that make it look way more edgy and weeaboo than it actually is, and it also reuses assets from 2 but uses them in a good way, so you can skip 2 completely. It is honestly better than VC1 is some regards.
Engine protection is only reserved for Boss Tanks like Radi Jaeger
Hope there are stickers with anime girls drawn in pinup style
But that's not fucking realistic you FUCKING DWEEB
Who the fuck would do this IRL you pathetic fuck
This one looks so generic compared to the other ones. I dunno what it is.
Terrible spin-off.
The very first game canonises that armouring the radiator is a consideration and some enemy vehicles do shield their weakspots (boss vehicles though). The reason why it is not common practice is because shielding the radiator impedes its ability to cool the engine, which very quickly eats away at performance.
Radi Jaeger's final boss fight has him in a heavily armoured version of his tank, but he cannot drive it far away from a camp because it needs constant support even in the middle of combat.
The Batomys is a super tank that managed to move independently of any support while still hiding its radiators, but firing its primary armament forces the radiators to pop out into the open so that the occupants inside don't roast to death. Destroying the radiators in that boss fight makes the whole thing drop like a fly
All games offered optional upgrades to protect your tank's radiator to varying effect. And in VC2 and 3 we see Heavy tanks that can survive one lancer shell into the radiator
No, not moe uguu girls. But pin-up girls that'd look fitting in Valkyria universe.
It obviously had to be characters looking like the game's characters (who can be "moe uguu girls" depending on which cancer normalfuck you ask)
Kind of contrived desu
I know the game needs to have a weak point for rewarding peoples who get them from behind, but from what I remember it wasn't exactly difficult to do, so I wish the weak point was something else entirely.
>2 sucks ass.
>3 is underrated
They both suck ass.
Kill yourself. We've been over this so many times. The entire series is weeb, and to say 1 "isn't" is retarded. Only 2 feels out of place because it was aimed at fujoshi, hense the otome game cliches present.
The handheld games are fine. 2 has issues, but they were corrected with 3. They're all fine games that play well.
Wrong, both 2 and 3 are good games.
>JSDF command told them to stop doing this yearly
Feels bad, man
>so I wish the weak point was something else entirely.
That very same weakpoint is how infantry at the time engaged tanks.
Get behind them and fuck up the engine in some way.
VC1 will introduce you to the series the best. VC4 is built off of VC1 too, so there won't be a huge change in gameplay or style going from one to the other.
VC2 is the dumb high school anime game, a real black sheep up until Revolution dropped. It did have some good ideas for the gameplay, such as tank customisation, individual character arcs for even your secondary squad members that unlock better potentials, and especially for dealing with using multiple maps in a single level. Imo it's far too easy though, enemy interception fire is weak as hell barring exceptions, so it's easy to break the game even without the godly captured turret that drops early game. It's fun if you love the series like I do, but the story and setting are laughable despite how much potential a Civil War premise had.
VC3 went back to VC1's timeline and follows a penal squad that gets into Black Ops shit and goes rogue when the plot heats up. It fixed balance issues and also did away with the extreme grind VC2 leant on to pad its game out. VC3 instead has a longer, more involved story with a colourful cast of rejects and crooks with decent antagonists to match. There are more maps and can be comfortably played without playing any mission twice. Only flaws I see is that the Fencer Class got nerfed to uselessness instead of being removed and the first couple of boss encounters will kick your ass despite being early game. It's so close to being a perfect game despite being a PSP title.
We can live and hope, there were some pinup stickers in the PSP games. Too bad about the resolution of the textures though.
>Rosie pinup sticker boosts Morale
Shooting the rear of a tank isn't contrived, since that's often where the armour is weakest. This has been the case in other games and IRL. The radiator in VC acts as the 'headshot' against vehicles
First game was really unique. Second, third, and fourth games all take from the original game but trade the unique feeling of the first game for weeb shit.
Don't talk as if you played past the first, you fraud redditor.
Would you have enjoyed VC2 is the military school was less anime-like?
the 3rd is the most unique and 4 looks as cool, what are you smoking dude
>angry weebs
>the Trump looking guy is literally named Ronald
What did SEGA mean by this?
Gee a post on a weeb imageboard called me a weeb, I'm so offended
>Armored half-track
Hope we get to stick a flamethrower on it.
>APCs confirmed
Will this shut the faggots up who keep saying it's just rehashing VC1 now?
