BoI is a good start, Nuclear Throne is also a good game. also Risk of Rain but it will take a while to get fun

I think bad games with potential should have priority over the already good games to get a remake/remaster.
My list would include Metal Gear 1 and 2, Mother 1, Half-Life 1 and Dark Souls 2.

none of those are roguelikes

try DCSS or Dungeons of Dremor, they're decent starting points with easy to understand mechanics and will open the doors for more complex stuff

After seeing Observer outright steal pretty much everything from Blade Runner and slap it on layers of fear. It became clear that's really all Cyberpunk is. Just taking blade runner, and slapping it on whatever genre you want.

It's just getting really, really bland.

I think 2077 will be the last one made in a while. It will pretty much be every cliche you can think of in one game, and people will be burned out by it.

Maybe then we can get some decent fucking Sci-Fi again.

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood I used to kill women and jerk off to it.

Sucked because you could only kill 2 innocents directly before getting desynched on the third, but there were a few workarounds for that.

For example, if you threw them into water theyd drown but it wouldn't count as a murder.

You could also used unarmed fighting to beat up people without killing them, so long as you provoked them into striking first.

The "fight enemies, die, respawn, retrace" formula of the Souls games frustrated me to the point of quitting early. Mainly because they're slow as fuck and retracing your steps gets boring.

I played Demon's Souls and Dark Souls and thought they were both fucking terrible because they were very janky and it felt like I was playing an early access game the entire time.

I can't understand how the series got so popular before Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 came out because they are the only two games in the series worth playing. It took them 3 attempts to make a good game and then on the fourth attempt (Bloodborne) it's like FromSoft just said "Ok lets make another one but actually try this time" and then took what they learned from that and applied it to Dark Souls 3.
