Yes, General?

I hated him.
>oh cool it's one of those darth maul dudes
>*starts talking*
>oh...
>leave him on the ship and never talk to him again
tfw you get a voice acting gig but you have to talk quitely while you record because its late and your mom is sleeping
what the fuck is 5/15, 4/16, or 2/15 i keep hearing about wtf with this game ?
>nicest guy you will ever meet or twisting fucking psychopath
*inaudible mumbling intensifies*
explain what you mean
>Skip one cutscene by mistake
>Go into HK killing mission
>never see him again until he shows up as a hologram in the final mission
What the fuck did I miss?
Bao-dur is decent unarmed. Make him a jedi with some unarmed skills and he pretty good. Too bad you don't need any companions and can easily solo the entire game.
STOP
STOP CALLING ME GENERAL
every time i look at a guide, i always see stuffslike scout/ sconsular 5/15, or soldier guardian 8/12
scout/ sconsular 5/15 means 5 levels as a scout then 15 levels as a consular
the game's level cap is 20 and at an earlyish point in the game you get to change your class from scout/scoundrel/soldier to jedi sentinel/consular/guardian
worst companion in the game
I agree, if you mean the Diplomat man. But you forgot about him. That's how fucking bad he was.
He wasn't great but I actually liked him, mostly because it's nice to have a party member who served with you in the war and respects you because he knows what you're capable of
oh i see i thought level your base to 5 then wait till 15 to spend point on Jedi training lol
>Diplomat man
His name was Disciple, LEL. You couldn't even remember his name, that's how bad he was.
Jesus Exile got hot chick white hair anime warrior
Female got uhh... that guy
I swear to god female Revan and male Exile ought to be canon
I played the game not too long ago and I unironically couldn't remember his fucking name, that's just how bad he was.
>female Revan
but why
they didn't do enough with bao-dur to make him interesting in any way. he was just kinda there the whole time.
much more fun, Carth is at least memorable and a good guy if you invest time to know him
Holy fuck I can't even count how many times I've played through KOTOR 2 and had to look up Disciple to even know who you were talking about.
I still don't remember anything about him.
>Obsidiots will defend this kind of writing
His voice makes him creepy. It's like he's going to disapear. Also the fact that he knows when you are in his head is GAAAAAY
He was originally supposed to die during a sacrifice at some point, but shit got changed for some reason
this happens with a lot of the characters desu, avellone has said in interviews that he regrets having so many companions and that kotor 3 would have fewer companions than even kotor 1, but they would be fleshed out more
why was his voiceover so fucked up? It's like someone had the volume at minimum and everything he said came out a whisper. but i thought he was okay, just a high-functioning autistic gearhead who saw everything as circuits and was trying to grapple with morality of his mass shadow generator crushing the lives out of thousands of combatants, all at once.
Kotor 2 has a cap of 30
Or at least I'm at 25
Revan understood snacks
I genuinely don't understand the complaint about his volume. It was never inaudible or difficult for me to tell what he was saying, and his soft-spoken and kind nature were a good contrast to the angry, vengeful actions that shaped him.
why did kreia say "unlike the others, his mind is silent" or whatever when you were doing that mindreading thing
she just responds with "i do not know why i could not hear his thoughts" but there's never an explanation
Stop mating with Visas.
I think a lot of people found it creepy. I found it creepy in a good way, he sounds soft and all but he's genuinely pissed about the war and has blood on his hands
This. Some people are soft spoken
Everyone else on the ship is a loud, opinionated asshole.
I always figured it's because he was at Malachor, and it's all he can think about. That's why when you read his mind, all you get is the impulse. "Malachor."
Fuck off, I'm going to run up her landing dock whenever I feel like it
Actually, it's at 50, but you're not going to get enough exp to get far past 30.
He was supposed to die getting HK to the factory but the devs forgot he was even a character so they left that out.
Yeah but then you don't get evil dom/sub Aribeth err.. Bastilla.
But I need to give her beautiful blind force babies to rebuild her race.
Holy fuck. You must be able to get every useful power and feat far before level 50. I'm 22 and already feel invincible.
If the Exile reproduces, would their children be tiny wounds in the force?
He's also super far into the game and you've already chosen your preferred squad by then. He's actually pretty interesting going dark side though, but definitely not as fleshed out as the other party members.
Or all stillborn.
On the console version, the only way to get far past 30 was to some glitch in the Sith Tomb on Korriban to get those Sith beast creatures to always spawn.
>super far into the game
Arguably easier to get than Mira/Hanharr and Goto. You have to complete Nar Shaddaa to get them, while you can pick Disciple up in the temple and fuck off whenever.
His thoughts are so quiet they're basically undetectable.
Visas' home was only a colony world though.
That's a great power against everyone who can't just turn the volume up.
He dies off screen, thats why you play as beep boop on that later planet
Yeah, why the hell did it sound like he was constantly whispering? I mean he spoke at a decent volume, but his voice was always monotone or something.
you can also plant mines, leave the area and then come back to disarm them for exp, if you dont get the hssiss bug restoration mod for the restored content mod this is the only way to really get the final level of your personal crystal
Echani women are qt
Is Bao-Dur actually a good companion or not?
Combat-wise?
I always go HK-47 and another jedi or something.
PTSD.
Handmaiden >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Disciple
He's not as good as HK-47 or Mandalore in terms of ranged combat, and in close combat he'll always be inferior to a Jedi, so unless you want to train him as a Jedi as opposed to Handmaiden/Disciple/Atton/Mira then he's more or less entirely forgetable outside of being a skills monkey
sure thing general
I don't think I've ever seen someone claim otherwise. Disciple gives a little more background on the Exile and has some interesting interactions with Kreia on the ship, but they reveal more about Kreia than anything else.
Oh well I have the Dustil Restoration mod so I can't use that.
KREIA SAVE ME
BAO-DUR WON'T STOP CALLING ME GENERAL
His punch is actually useful for getting rid of enemy shields
Dwoooooooooooo.
hes okay, he does lots of unarmed damage but hes strength based and the gear he needs is random drops which you will probably want for either yourself, mandalore/handmaiden/hanharr and so on.
If you are using blasters bao-dur gets more useful as his attacks destroy shields, the unstoppable damage upgradable pistols are random drops so he could be very useful to such a build.
All this time and you've truly learned nothing?
>Best companion in 2 games
How did he do it Sup Forums ?
I think they really should've gone with a male Exile. It wouldn't be so bad if they allowed you to choose between Mical or handmaiden, regardless or your gender. I only partially like Mical because he makes references to Tales of the Jedi characters like Vodo-Siosk Baas and Ulic Qel-Droma, and I'm a huge fan of the TOTJ comics. I think they chose female Exile as canon because Revan was already male and "muh women can be stronk".
You don't tell me what to do, mom.
What the fuck was his fucking problem?
he was literally worthless in kotor 1 outside of unlocking the sith base. he was god tier in 2 though for sure
He's probably one character that shouldn't even be allowed to become a Jedi. All the other characters in Kotor 2 that can become jedi give a reason for their force sensitivity (Disciple was a jedi previously, Atton was able to call upon the Force to assassinate Jedi, Mira is able to find lost people by calling upon the Force, and handmaiden is the daughter of a Jedi Master). Not to mention he can't even wear Jedi robes without the use of mods.Even then, he's pretty much useless. He was originally going to die in the Hk factory on Telos. That's why he has a cut line that says "Make my sacrifice matter".
Droid Napoleon complex syndrome. Plus Czerka done goofed and forgot to give him a memory wipe
>mfw I wrote a paper on Kreia, and my professor loved it.
Likely because Malachor broke him and he doesn't think of anything. It is impossible to read an echo.
Was he suppose to be a references to the droid that broke down in a new hope ?
Echani women fight better while naked, and therefore should be naked during all combat or otherwise.
Then you make her wear clothes when you're fighting in bed for extra lewdness.
but that's not true, the exile could read his mind
Link to paper? I'd love to read it. I've only seen one person mention they've written a paper on Kreia on the internet but I haven't been able to find it.
The Exile is the source of echo itself, therefore it could read its mind. I was talking more generally about echos.
I still find it amazing that Avellone made a character out of fucking beeping noise. Even R2D2 moves its head and beeps depending on its mood.
So I bought KOTOR I & II but GOD KOTOR I is fucking garbage to play.
First I tried doing the whole widescreen fix thing, which kinda worked (on like the 5th restart of the game finally) but forced the game to fullscreen even though I did Fullscreen=0 and the allow windowed command to =1 in the .ini. I can't stand playing in fullscreen since I like actually talking to friends so I decided to play it in windowed and 1280×960, whatever.
Except the game randomly makes my mouse cursor disappear. And after every fight it locks me out of moving. I've tried looking into that and some people say to enable vsync (which only worked once) or to stand there spinning like a retard for a good 2-3 seconds while holding W+D or W+A which does work, but is obviously very annoying to do after every single fight.
And the combat system itself is garbage too.
TL;DR: KOTOR I is garbage, do I have to play it for KOTOR II? And is KOTOR II less garbage on steam?
>KOTOR I is garbage, do I have to play it for KOTOR II?
No it's not, and yes you do. It's a direct sequel, even though the characters are different.
>And is KOTOR II less garbage on steam?
Yes and no. They essentially preload the game with mods/tweaks that let you play it in widescreen resolutions, but I don't recommend that you use Steam workshop for mods since it's definitely going to cause conflicts.
Just play it on xbox if you really want to. Alternatively, SBFP is doing a dark side run right now, you can scratch your itch by watching that as long as you can tolerate Pat being wrong about everything
>do I have to play it for KOTOR II
Lol no. In fact, Kotor 2 was the first of the series I played. I didn't play Kotor 1 until much later. But kotor 2 is plagued with bugs as well. But whatever you do, DO NOT download the mod for m478. The restored content is fine, but i would highly advise against m478. It's a scrapped planet that was scrapped for a reason. It can really fuck up your save file
There are a few bugs in kotor 2 that you might run in to, but nothing compared to kotor 1 on steam. I can't even play with frame buffer effects in kotor 1 because the game crashes every time.
Should i use armor as a jedi in kotor I and II ?
If you wanna only hit stuff with your lightsaber, sure, but it restricts your ability to buff yourself via powers.
meh sound like shit, i gonna stick with robe then
Yeah, KOTOR II kind of realizes this and gives you more robes to work with to balance things out a bit.
most of the time armor does not provide any meaningful bonuses to being a jedi, towards the end of the game you usually get a number of robes which give substantial bonuses to using force powers so you should probably shouldn't use armor
>near-human trash
You don't have to tell me twice
Do either of the restored content mods introduce a level curve? I never once died in KotOR or KotOR II on Xbox, but since I started playing II on PC with the later mod, I get my fucking ass handed to me by even the most basic motherfuckers.
>level curve
I took some deathsticks. I meant level scaling. For instance, with Visas and Kreia on Goto's Yacht, I had to quicksave like a motherfucker just to survive until getting the Exile back.
bahahaha that pic
probably has something to do with your class and what powers you use.
I steamrolled kotor II as a dark side consular, with the lightning, slow and choke trees
I was a Sentinel. Went to fight Visas. Got my ass handed to me again and again, had to cheese with tons of stims and medpacs and grenades.
The mercs on Telos's surface wiped my party several times.
Atton got wrecked by the twi'lek sisters.
Visas and Kreia kept getting annihilated by the droids on Goto's Yacht.
On Dxun, my party members who were jedi got annihilated, HK-47 literally did all of the work.
His face looks like a jigsaw puzzle.
That first comment profile is my Revan f-fuck
What with the fucking brainlet hate for Bao du was a deep character with great conflict and guilt if you want plain and obvious, black and white character go watch the prequels
