Is this supposed to be VR for poor people?
Is this supposed to be VR for poor people?
No
Labo-enabled VRChat when?
>hurr durr there's something strapped to his head therefore it's VR related
Where's the VR? There's nothing on your face.
Go watch the Nintendo Labo video before posting like a retard.
I did, that's how I know OP is completely retarded. Nothing about this is VR, at most you could call some of it AR but even that's a stretch.
we can call it EuroVR
fpbp
Dumb user, we call it mobile trace system.
labo isnt vr retard, get google cardboard
it's a cardboard swappable arcade set.
really cool
I bet you the gizmo on his head is like Google cardboard that you use with a smart phone
>as a robot, keep the visor up normally
>to see clues, solve puzzles or see additional information, you can put the visor down and see additional information
Pure genius. Games don't need VR! They needed augmented reality this whole time!
Just looks like a piece of cardboard with a hole to me.
Nigga it's just a joycon
It's for children. What's wrong with creating things for children? Videogames are toys. Adults can enjoy toys, but the primary audience is children. Why do you take videogames so damn seriously?
People forget that nintendo was just a toy company from the late 1800s to the 1970s and then it became a video game company. Maybe they're broadening back into other toys again.
autistic people who want to relive the wii glory
Why are you so obsessed with a kids toy company?
The Switch is a toy.
LOL
technically all video game systems are toys
What the hell is that? Looks like some kid made a science project.
The new Nintendo game.
I can't believe they're actually selling this shit. Literal Wii accessories, but worse quality, more expensive, and you have to build them yourself. You Soytendo faggots are eating it up, it's fucking amazing that you people are this stupid.
Nintendo looking with what they can get away with.
It's better than vr. Nintendo made it affordable to be more immersed in games using the simplest thing. Mark my words this will propel Nintendo to new heights. This is why they're the best at what they do, the possibilities are endless with this
It's cardboard for rich people
I wonder for how long Sup Forums will cry over this?
>ITS FOR KIDS
Why is this always the last resort argument from nintendo fans?
>Motion controls are shit and no one likes them
>Nintendo: Hold my soy milk
Nintendo sinks lower and lower
>the possibilities are endless
>as long as you buy our cardboard that is
Cardboard for retard
Enjoy getting brain cancer strapping a 500 dollar brick over your face. Nintendo just made vr obsolete with a 70 dollar product
>the pack on the robot's back correlates with the what's going on with the actual cardboard pack
That's actually kinda neat
>MOM I BROKE IT AGAIN
>BUY ME ANOTHER ONE FOR $80 YOU FAT COW
Nintendo are geniuses.
Labo absolutely blew away my expectations for a kid-friendly announcement today. Nintendo Labo is on the same system as Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Dark Souls, The World Ends with You and Breath of the Wild. We're officially in a new Wii/DS type era where sales are booming, third parties are back and Nintendo is innovating in ways we never could have predicted. This is the Nintendo that I know and love and I couldn't be happier.
No.
Blew away your expectations by being so bad?
They literally said its targeted towards kids
I get that this is supposed to be for kids but aren’t the majority of Switch owners in their 20s and up? Nintendo even posted this information a while back when looking at their target audience for the console. Is this enough to draw kids in like Skylanders and LEGO Universe games have?
That seems to be their gambit. Prior to the announcement Kimishima said in an interview that year two is a critical part in the switch's life, and to keep the momentum going they would have to expand past the core gamers, and this certainly looks to be an effort on that front.
i dont fucking understand what this is supposed to be? is it just like a toy or does it actually work? why did they think cardboard was a good idea?
that's probably why they made it, to attract more kids to the system
i see this ending fucking terribly, fragile cardboard pieces + expensive tablet device + kids
what the fuck is nintendo thinking
It actually works, and the software will actually show you how it works. As for why cardboard, it's probably the most inexpensive material that's still relatively sturdy for construction and multiple usage
So you get to build something yourself, and then use your switch to make it do stuff?
That's cool as fuck. I'd have thought that was amazing as a kid. Like, you build something kind of challenging out of cardboard of all things, and then you can turn what you made into an actually useful in-game item, or controller. Thats brilliant. You make a fishing rod that actually extends and has moving parts, it works in game as a real rod, fuck yeah. You made it. Building stuff is fun. Children usually aren't involved in the assembly of their controller peripherals, but now you can Ikea yourself a new switch add on.
>a fucking piece of cardboard
>A FUCKING RUBBER BAND
but HOW does it work? how does your switch know you're using a cardboard fishing rod??? ? ?
Heavy use of the gyro sensors and IR cameras on the joycons, which you slot into the cardboard devices. For example, if you look at the fishing rod one, you put a joycon in on the side opposite of the handle, and it turns with it
