Why is it so hard to beat this game as Bass?
Why is it so hard to beat this game as Bass?
Even as fucking Megaman, this game is hard as shit. I’ve never played the SNES version but is it an GBA only thing where you can’t continuely shoot as Megman? I understand Bass is the only one who can really continuously shoot, but the lag time between shots with Megaman is ridiculous.
>Bass
Who?
It's right there on the Box Art, bro.
No dash buttton
On a system with L and R buttons
No dash button
I thought Bass was easy modo? Double jump and continuous shots are pretty gud
It's not that difficult aside from King stage, What were they thinking....
The only words I see on that box are "MAN &"
This. I'm used to down+jump to slide as Megaman, but dashing with down+jump just throws me off from years of playing MMX and MMZ
I definitely had an easier time beating it with Bass as well.
The game's harder for blacks.
Come on user it can't be that hard maybe play the snes version because the gba version cut a kinda big portion of the screen
I've only ever managed to beat the game as Bass. Never could get past that second/third castle stage boss as Megaman (the one where you have to jump on platforms while attacking the boss as the stage autoscrolls).
Because you have to beat the first boss by shooting it 28 individual times.
Also the game is way easier as Bass because he can skip half the levels.
Also the game in general is fucking dogshit just like Megaman 7 and 8 were and not worth playing.
>dogshit
I like this one. It's one of my favorite Mega Man games.
Well congratulations on being a contrarian.
platformers with giant sprites and hitboxes are always terrible.
bumping
I find that surprising his Extra mobility makes things way easier. His dash is kinda weird that you have to double tap but you'll get used to it and you'll find his dash jump incredibly useful in the stages.

What the fuck are you talking about? The game was MADE for Bass.
Tip: Equip the Critical Up and get to low health. You now deal 3x the damage. With Bass' mobility you can easily walk circles around everything.
It's scarier than it looks since its basically a lot
of mini jumps of faith. You just gotta believe the platforms are still there and not panic.
The original Megaman X games had dashing being on a double tap. You could also press A on the SNES controller for example, but combining that with the jump and shoot was awkward placement. The amount of people who complain about the dash function on Bass always seem to forget it was the same mechanic in the X series. And in those games dashing was a requirement, where here, levels had to be designed to allow Bass and Megaman to go through.
But I won't lie, the Megaman Zero games spoiled me for dash being on L, I can't ever go back.
The game is literally designed with Bass in mind. Mega Man is the one who has a hard time because they didn't bother balancing for him since I guess they just assumed everyone would play as Bass instead. I guess they're right, in a way. The same problem happened with X4. X feels like such an afterthought it's kind of pathetic.
The game is NOT design around Bass, Bass trivialize platforming that is no different than you would find in a MM classic title. Bass, over the other hand, struggles with bosses because of his weak ass pea shooter. I breezed ufo Wily with MM but found it difficult with Bass having to choose between stronger buster or reduced damage mid battle.
Bass: easy stage, hard boss
The bosses have invulnerability frames for every time they're hit, including Bass' wimpy pea shooter, where Megaman can charge his buster and deal chunks of damage at a time.
Afterwards you can use boss weaknesses but still.
Maybe it has something to do with your sprite being half as big as the screen.
In the X series, you can set a shoulder button to dash in-game through the option menu.
bass shits on the levels with directional aiming and double jump
he does less damage to the bosses to try to make it fair, but its very clearly bass's game
ty for reminding me about this game op
