it really depends on how the game is going. You start off in a personal union and that makes it hard at the start but if you get lucky you can get out within a reasonable amount of time and start joining all the euro cuck wars and possibly gain a few provenances out of it. Try befriending Bohemia or Lithuania early and drag them into wars. Brandenburg has a decent amount of manpower.

buy the base game and download the DLC. That way you can support the game without supporting cancerous DLC practices.
