You didn't ACTUALLY pick "Yes", right? Because at least 75% of Sup Forums brags about making the blatantly-wrong choice here
You didn't ACTUALLY pick "Yes", right...
Is yes the option that lets him live or causes Kaeru to 1v1 and kill him?
Sparing him was the canon right?
Shoo weeb
My next playthrough I'm gonna kill him for the first time. Glenn deserves it.
What's even the point? He didn't really do anything terrible.
Always save Magus. The 1v1 is super cool though.
The opposite, and the only thing you get for killing him is an amulet that wastes an accessory spot, because you can actually buy the best helmet that does the exact same thing
Yes, but Cross's story is such a clusterfuck that you won't even know he's there, which is why CT DS's attempt at bridging the two games is the absolute worst part of an otherwise perfect port
Yes, he shows up in Radical Dreamers.
He turns back into a human regardless circa the Chronicles release, which is probably the worst port of a game ever from a technical standpoint, which is a major contrast to the excellent FFIV hard port it came with
Frog*
He turned out exactly the way that someone who was left alone as a child with Flea could turn out
>Human frog is adult ssj gohan with green hair
pottery
Is that the ps1 port? I played the one off the psn store. What's so bad about it?
>a character Toriyama drew looks like another character Toriyama drew
Imagine that.
Yes I killed him.
I didn't need more party members and Glenn was the de facto leader after my main char was gone so he deserved some revenge. I valued Glenn's happiness over the life of that miscreant.
Besides the 1v1 duel on the cliff was pretty cool and probably my favorite fight from the game. I recommend killing him to everyone.
The ORIGINAL port had horrible load times that sometimes hit the 1 1/2-minute territory in the Black Omen, and the PS2 read speed tweaks actually made it run WORSE, the digital re-releases fixed it, but before CT DS, it was the only way to play it with all the enhancements. I had never felt so ripped-off that Christmas, especially since FFA was a good port of IV and V
>the 1v1 duel on the cliff was pretty cool and probably my favorite fight from the game
You get a cooler fight at the end of the game
You do?
Is it Magus exclusive or do you mean going through the Lavos stages or something?
If you bring him to the Black Omen, you get a different cutscene where he tells Zeal to fuck off, and the superboss music is replaced with his theme
>have Frog kill Magus, because it's a cool moment to have, and having the Magus music play through it is fucking great
>Load previous save
>Bring Magus into the party, and have him regularly be one of the 3 playables
Every time
Guess i lucked out. I think a friend offered to lend me his copy on ps1 back in the day but I never got around to it and eventually just downloaded it on psn.
I wish there were more games with art by Akira Toriyama
Avenging Cyrus' death is selfish and helps no one. Sparing Magus and having him help in the fight against Lavos is noble and right. If you pay any attention to Frog as a character and aren't a petty piece of shit, it's not hard to see what the correct choice is here. Sadly there are many on Sup Forums that refuse on principle not to see past their own nose.
Cyrus was a hero that fought for the sake of others. Honor the way he lived; don't obsess over the way he died. You fools.
Squeenix has probably ensured they have top dibs on him while he's still able to draw
He wasn't in Cross because his arc got cut (Pretty much every other character got at least a mention even Ayla) so the bastard is dead for all I care.
I, as the player, sought to bring Magus to justice for more than just Cyrus. And that's what I did. I already had a full party of 3 dudes anyway so bringing Magus in wouldn't have helped shit, maybe if he unlocked a fourth slot or if everyone came in to help versus Lavos I would reconsider.
Retconned in the DS port, he's Guile now
>even Ayla
Ayla is just as valuable as any of the other party members
>gameplay wise she's just a discount chrono
>only useful if you autistically wanna farm for items by stealing them
>story wise she can barely talk and never has anything interesting to say
There is no reason to take her over Frog, Marle, Luca, Robo or even fucking Magus.
He was always Guile, and this was confirmed way before CT DS, the problem is that fucking Magus/Janus was put on the backburner to ensure that the talking flower, talking mushroom, talking dog and other literally-who's also had a decent amount of screentime. CT DS just makes it more official, but still doesn't fix the fact that the sole returning CT character as a party member was deemed low-priority
Most CT references in CC are basically "hey it's me I'm here to advance the plot", or "hey I have the same name, but I'm different, am I a reincarnation? Or an ancestor? WHO KNOWS"
The amazingly detailed and lewd spritework, and Chrono/Frog/Ayla is a party with absolutely no weaknesses, you get a giant single enemy nuke of a triple tech, and a huge heal/status heal double tech, along with a load of Ayla-centric multi-hit techs
>lewd spritework
Very well, you win this one, I was wrong.
