What changes would you like to see to the skill system? If you say "remove it", you're entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is shit.

If FE16 has child units again, I will not buy it.

All I want is ways to get skills without the constant multiclassing.

ANNA ANNA ANNA ANNA ANNA NICOLE YOURE SO BODACIOUS

>says so while posting Nino of all characters
>Sequel to the game that was literally Child Units: The Game, complete with the youngest Lord in the series

I'm currently on CQ Lunatic 26. Only gave it one try before setting it aside for now, but the part where I lost was on the bottom right, when trying to enter the last room. Is it worth making Xander a Hero to deal with this portion? No one else has the bulk to draw out the Beastslayer Generals, and if they do, they're either mounted or a beast themselves. I have just under 8000 gold at this point.

Oh also, how do the maids prioritize who to Freeze?

>Separate game
>Time skip

>The same as hurr timetravel and hurr magic space wombs
Feel free to get crit'd.

I want a hybrid between the Tellius and 3DS system. Everyone gets a uniqne personal skill, innate skill, and one class skill at lvl 10 for the base and promoted class. Other advanced skills are both via a shop for a limited amount or obtain through chapters by either completing aide objectives or some other criteria.

Which is funny because half of the Fates child units are OLDER than Nino and the BB cast.

Where is Camilla?

Nothing wrong with kids gameplay wise. It's fun to customization your own units.

Which kids are objectively the most useful to get, either for themselves or what their map gives?

>all Fates characters still don't have official art
What happened?

Velouria is easily a top tier unit on her own. Ophelia is a good nuke, and her map gives useful items if you visit all the villages. Percy is a strong unit and gives gold in his map.

All of them are useful for exp, but Ophelia, Soleil, Percy, and Sophie give great rewards for completing the side objective.

>tfw 44 hours into warriors

I've lost control of my life. Lucina is objectively the best character.

camilla and charlotte are for /ss/

Child units are good if done right.
See FE4.

Like usual, staff users always go for the ones they can most likely hit, usually the ones with the lowest res.

Who are some good parents for them that still show up at a good time? I'm not trying to do an efficiency or ltc run but I'd like to minimize any sort of support grinding while still getting them at a good time.

150 hours here, user, and probably a lot more when my favourite game Shadow Dragon gets its DLC. Life begins to lose meaning when you play the same map over and over again for Navarre/Nabarl materials.

>Sophie
A Seraph Robe isn't worth trying to protect those suicidal fucks, you're better off using the map for exp and training up Sophie.

Ophelia's optimal parent is absolutely Elise, but Nyx can also work if you have other plans for your imouto. Odin joins the chapter after you get Elise and the chapter before you get Nyx.
Trash Dog is generally good regardless of mother, but she becomes a furry tank if you give her Camilla.
Percy is also decently flexible, but Effie is supposedly a good mother, and joins in the same chapter as his dad.
Soleil's best mother is probably Peri, who gives her nice mods and access to Luna. Same as above, Inigo and Peri join at the same time.
Sophie works decently with most mothers, but I would argue that Mozu is her best mom. Like her dad, her growths can be slightly iffy at times, and Aptitude helps patch that up, plus Mozu's balanced mods work well with Sophie herself.

You probably want to get Nina for Lunatic 25, having two Shurikenbreakers will make it a lot easier.

You get a Partner Seal and an Energy Drop for saving 5 of the 6 villagers. And all you have to do is drop a tank like Benoit or Marx on the bridge so they go the long away around.

This, though I'd personally have class skills locked to the particular class to add more differentiation. For instance snipers could get bow range+1 to give them a niche over other bow using classes.

Is she a pervert? Why does she strip people?

They'll get an Askr DLC too.

>one generic sword infantry
>2 lance infantry
>one "quirky" axe character
I could see them doing it if only because of how easy it'd be for them to do a lazy job and make clones.

She's prone to mistakes. That's about it.

Should I go ahead and play Revelations if I've got no interest in Birthright and Conquest?

Awakening and Fates are the best FE games.

Fates is the most unfinished game after Radiant Dawn.

Hell, Fates is so unfinished they used the cut assets to make Echoes.

Echoes towns (supposed to be Fates towns originally) are fully modeled 3D that Corrin was supposed to be able to walk around in, you can hack the camera to do it in Echoes with Alm. Echoes world map mechanic was from Fates too, just re-purposed to be Gaiden's map.

I want to get myrrhied to a dragon loli!

No. If you won't like BR and CQ there's no reason to play Fates.

The reason for my disinterest is that Conquest's difficulty doesn't appeal to me, while Birthright is absolute babbymode. I've read that Revelations lies somewhere between the two in terms of difficulty, which makes it sounds a whole lot more appealing.

Really? Fates was that unfinished? What happened? Did something happened at ISIS that made them rushed Fates?

That explains why fates has that awful Google map thing. If it's one thing I hope they do with fe16 is that they take their time.

Big project with 3 albeit slightly shorter games. You can see this in how much more rushed and unpolished rev is compared to the other 2. Also alot of resources went into the my bedroom shit and supports that probably took away budget from other areas.

Still no, Rev is a total slog and easier then BR because you get all the royals.

>MULTIPLE WRITERS, one did Conquest/ Birthright and the other did Revelations and Supports
>split the game into 3 games

Yeah, RD, Awakening and Fates all suffered from an early release.

>RD's story is poorly patched together with dumb stuff like blood pacts and a magical teleporting black knight, entire support mechanic removed when Ike alone was supposed to be able to support with at least 15 people
>Awakening's story is less than 50% complete, all of a sudden anyone after Chapter 13 has no supports and the story suddenly just starts rushing fast, some post-Chapter 13 characters had to be added to the game later on, game has severe balancing issues
>Fates development was an absolute trainwreck beyond compare

Which is funny because even Japan hated MyRoom and the touching stuff, they complained about it as well on 2ch.

Nothing will ever beat Revelations Odin, is there a Fire Emblem character worse than that besides Revelations Nyx?

>Odin recruitment chapter
>On Normal, Odin deals 1 damage to his enemy, is killed in 2 hits
>On Hard onwards, Odin deals 0 damage to his enemy and is one-shot killed at 100% accuracy

I don't mind an avatar but we need an actual lord character to play MC like Chrom. Running everything through and around Corrin who has to juggle "lead duty" and "audience surrogate" just made a lot of Fates incoherent and nonsensical.

Birthright is basically Awakening and Echoes but better.

Revelations has a ton of gimmick maps and awful unit balancing.

You sure you don't want to play Conquest on Hard? I know Fire Emblem games tend to be super easy, but Conquest has a nice challenge.

The writing had a lot to do with it, Robin wasn't too much of an attention hog and Chrom had some fun allies like Basilio and Flavia.

Corrin had fucking Azura and Xander to give him shit advice, so while Corrin alone is bad enough, shit characters like Azura and Xander makes things worse.

You can play on normal/Phoenix mode if you are that concerned about diffculity.

At least Odin has grinding in his game. You could make a case for the awful duos in RD and fe6 and some of the garbage prepromotes in fe12 due to not getting that privilege

>She's prone to mistakes.

>invite her over to My Room
>she mistakenly removes my clothes
>she mistakenly pins me to the bed
>she mistakenly tries to S-rank my cock
Haha yeah, that silly girl.

>some of the garbage prepromotes in fe12

Ahaha holy shit, I forgot about the glorious shitters of New Mystery. Sometimes I don't even bother recruiting some of them.

If FE16 doesn't have child units again, I will not buy it.

I think all of Leo and Xander's retainers got fucked hard, and almost every Nohr unit got shafted to some degree.

Yeah haha how funny would that be?

NO FATES SHIT
NO AWAKENING SHIT
MORE LIKE SOV
MORE LIKE POR
FE 4/5 BUNDLE REMAKE NEXT YEAR

take out the fucking pair up system and make the abilities like PoR

dont make it a fucking grind fest like awakening, just have the levels and some endgame levels instead of piece of shit awakening just give the enemies more HP niggas first SRPG type shit

SomeHoshido units got fucked too, not as many as Nohr's though. Hana joins with a higher level and LESS STRENGTH, Azama has too many levels in Priest.

And then on the other hand Shura, Silas and Hayato have ludicrous base stats.

>MORE LIKE SOV

Fuck off.

>instead of piece of shit awakening just give the enemies more HP niggas first SRPG type shit

You just described SoV

>more like Echoes
>a game shittier than Awakening and Fates
>FE4/5 bundle
>two games that are super different gameplay-wise and have separate canon like 6/7

>more like rout and empty maps
>more like low difficulty and limited customization
Ew

>Have honestly not played a lot of Fire Emblem until recently, but always mained Marth in smash because I liked how he played
>Borrowed Path of Radiance from a friend back in high school, it was pretty good, Ike is a cool guy
>Never touched the series again until Awakening
>Played on casual because fuck you, meme on it all you want but all it fucking does is just essentially turn the game into shining force
>Skipped Fates because of the treehouse disaster
>Bought the two GBA ones on Wii U and played the shit out of them, they're fucking great and I'm sad I missed out on them back in high school
>Bought Fire Emblem Warriors because I ignored the MUH IKE whining and it's actually pretty fucking solid no matter how much people cry about WAAHHHH MUH FATESWAKENING
>My autistic friend is one of those people and he was so legitimately fucking assmad that I bought Warriors he actually fucking bought me Echoes, which again I'm playing on hard/casual because fuck you
>It's probably one of the best FE's I've played yet and I'm having a lot of fun with it

And that's some random user's history with FE. I was so absolutely unaware of FE that when I unlocked Roy in Melee back in the day, I had to dig out my old YS III cartridge on SNES because I thought it was the character you played as in that game.

a lot of the fateswakeningbabbies hate SoV but a lot of people who actually like video games like it because actually it's very good and it's well polished

PoR is my favourite FE and infact pretty much everyone's favourite FE will be whichever one they played first

>a lot of the fateswakeningbabbies hate SoV but a lot of people who actually like video games like it because actually it's very good and it's well polished

yeah, people hate it because it has no waifus. Not because it has maps and gameplay so shitty than NES FE1 shits all over it.

>RD and fe6 and some of the garbage prepromotes in fe12
Fuck I wish all characters would just get increased base stats and weapon ranks in all games to curve awful unit balance on harder modes.

>lot of the fateswakeningbabbies hate SoV

Literally go fuck yourself, I'm an Archaneafag and I despise it.

I got a kick out of the fact that the game essentially opens up on implied rape, which is how you can tell it was definitely not touched by the treehouse.

>a lot of the fateswakeningbabbies hate SoV

But Gaiden was the main inspiration for Awakening and Gaiden. Literally half of Awakening is set in Valentia.

Or maybe because Gaiden is the worst game in the series and guess what? the remake that doesn't fix its flaws will also be the worst rivaling Rev. Anyone who isn't a 7-9babby or likes a good challenge would have a reason to dislike it.

You think they will go back to 3D Models on the overworld?

Yes considering its a console title and they have all the loads of cash due to heroes.

I just want something a bit more like the Tellius games.
Keep some of the new shit but also bring back the more serious tone, skill system, base between chapters with relevant conversations, meaningful supports (both in writing and shit like Jill defection), neat secrets like the whole Lehran recruitment, etc.

I enjoyed my time on both Awakening and Fates but it's just not the same.

Yeah, people rant about silly stuff like "muh anime waifushit ruining fire emblem" but the main issue is how goofy Awakening and Fates are, they need a more serious tone.

>I was so absolutely unaware of FE that when I unlocked Roy in Melee back in the day, I had to dig out my old YS III cartridge on SNES because I thought it was the character you played as in that game.

that's precious user

So, I recently got copies of PoR and RD at a game store that was going out of business, and they didn't know what they had (PoR was only $30, it doesn't have the manual, but who gives a fuck?) and RD was only $30 as well. However, I have no way of playing em and am considering selling em. How much do you think I should put em up on eBay for?

But you can in Fates. Just buy the skill online.

Imagine how much it tickled me when all these years later Roy got an Adol-esque color in Smash 4. I did later end up getting super hardcore into the Ys series when they all released on Steam and still laugh about my naivety to this day.

So how long until a Fire Emblem anime?

Yeah, it was a good addition. But I'd rather it more properly implemented into the game itself rather than an online feature.

Hi, I like Camilla.

Ys-confused user here.

They had that at my local family video. I rented it after melee and got super confused because I was a dumb kid.

>Wait is it Marth, or Mars??

I used to use the black/red outfit in melee for Marth because I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be a reference to that godawful OVA.

mind posting more?

Hi there, Camilla is my waifu.

>played on casual

>hard/casual

>implying they won't include Embla as well
>not wanting to use evil magic loli and sexy brown mage knight, and also possibly evil sexy staff lady

Just cleared out the bottom room of this map. I panicked when Xander crit 5 times in a row and almost got himself killed from the accumulated damage, until Aegis procced.
Please tell me there aren't any surprise reinforcements coming my way when I open Iago's door.

>You should lose a unit forever in a series with notoriously awful RNG
"No."

Again, playing with permadeath turned off is literally just fucking Shining Force or Langrisser, and I don't hear people calling those games casual.

If the utter lack of any word for this long after fates' sales is any indication, taking their time is exactly what's happening.

Unfortunately, fates' sales may also convince the executives to rush the dev team forever now- if they'll lap it up despite the rushed work, why not rush anyway and pump more games out? I don't mind the animeification becasue the series has actually always been anime, just mostly (now) outdated styles, but I join in on the doomsaying for the series because of this. It's popularity has gotten the attention of the executives, so now the series is inexorably headed towards the EA/ubisoft/whatever trend of cutting corners and quality at every opportunity in favor of optimizing the art of exploiting normies' uninformed positions for maximum profit.

You already know

Those games didn't establish permadeath as a primary feature of the game. Fire Emblem has. So adding in an option for dead units to come back after a chapter, or even the next turn, is a bit of a drastic change to the formula.

Granted I'm an optimistic guy and I see this as a way for new people to get into the franchise, but I also understand why veteran players are offended by it. It's like the Golden Leaf in Mario 3D World.

I forgot all about how good silas and hayato were in IK

>notoriously awful RNG
A bad player blames the RNG for their mistake. A good player realizes that something went wrong during their strategy. Echoes even gives you free resets during battle.

A lot of vets don't really care for the permadeath anyway because a lot reset. I always reset as a kid whenever I lost a unit.

I don't know man, not everything is black and white. I consider myself an optimistic man too.

I ignored the golden leaf in Mario, I didn't use gorilla god mode in Donkey Kong, but I kicked Bayonetta and Wonderful 101's asses up and down the walls on pure platinum mode. One does not immediately correlate to the other, and I will continue to turn on casual mode just because I don't feel like dealing with permadeath.

lol. no.
Yeah man, my fighters and warriors constantly getting a measely +1 in one stat is great RNG.

If they changed it so that you couldn't use the unit for 1 chapter, would you all be happy?

You can beat every FE game at 0% growths.

we need more Camilla

Doesn't mean I want to do it, man.

To each his own. My idea of autism fun time is to play Mega Man games with just the buster or try to finish Bayo/Devil May Cry with just the starting gear. When I play something like Fire Emblem, maybe I'll turn it on hard, maybe I'll just keep it on normal. It's like said, most of the time I reset anyway and that's just not fucking fun. Might as well skip a step.

>finally reached the final chapter on CQ Lunatic for the first time
How horrible is Endgame going to be with no leftover Rescue staves?

Speaking of, that's one reason why I loved the Turnwheel feature in Valentia. Why waste all that progress and time when you can just go back a few turns to unfuck yourself? I only used it when I fucked up someone's movement or I die to RNG, and while I do see how it casualizes the game I still think it's a valuable tool.

Fair enough. If people want to use casual mode to just play the game for fun, I got no problem with that. I personally don't mind permadeath if it's my own fault, but in a RNG-heavy game then I can understand the frustration of losing a valuable unit or even the MC to some fucking grunt who popped a 1% crit.

Maybe. Personally, I still think the Turnwheel is the best option.

shit that actually sounds like a good idea. use "they need to recover" as an excuse, good compromise between pleasing casuals (or people who just want to play casually) and what the pressure of losing a unit adds to the game
