Who was in the wrong here?
Who was in the wrong here?
Kojima.
Sup Forums
Good game that could have been something amazing
None of them really completed the game. The review conditions on this one were really fucked up.
I had so much potential
pretty much everyone. mgsv was the biggest ruse played on gamers in recent memory
Sup Forums is always wrong
(you)
Depends on who you ask.
Wasn't it like reviewers could play a max of 40 hours or something
Shit I dont even think you can do the story in 40 hours with all the missions
You can. I finished Chapter 1 in 30 hours. Chapter 2 has only 5 missions that are mandatory for the story. You can finish it in 5-6 hours.
All those fucking niggers
I was robbed. Fucking robbed.
Kojima is on the same level as Peter Molyneux for me.
reviewers probably rushed through 30 missions in chicken cap and gave it a 9 or 10
fuck journalists
None of them. Accurate scores.
>it's awful because the story isn't finished
no one cares about video game stories autismos
what if I told you that the gameplay is repetitive and dull though
>Reviews were supervised in 40 hour boot camps
I can't understand how people are hyped for Death Stranding.
Only the ones who posted their reviews in August.
I cant wait for all the 2 and 3 stars for Survive because its the same game without Kojima in the name
Well I loved Phantom Pain so of course I'm looking forward to it and how much asshurt it will cause to most of you retarded faggots
The biggest shame is the engine
It was a thing of perfection and it was wasted on Konami's last game
konami, for firing KOJIMA
All of them, unfinished game that could have been much more than the cut content mess we got. The game is far from perfect and that the score all those paid shills gave it.
then I'll tell you it's less repetitive and dull than other entries in the series
I'm not going to buy the game desu I'm just going to sit on the sidelines and stoke the flames like I did with TP.
2 years ago, someone on Sup Forums who provided proof that he was in journalism industry flat out spilled the beans that all reviews are paid through networking parties, partnerships, and donations.
If you believe any of this without forming an opinion of your own, you are sheep. This goes for games beyond Kojima
That said, I don't see what's great about a huge sandbox game where it gets boring real fast by doing the same shit with the same face enemies. It's a poor man's GTA, and gta already is stale
Get fucked
>muh three chapters were cut from the game
Fuck off, retard. They literally only cut one shitty boss fight that takes place before the end.
It's Kojima without any restraint and Sony just throwing unlimited money at him. I have no idea what is going to come out of it but it's a beautiful mess that I want to experience it. It could be garbage or it could be amazing but honestly if your not at least curious you're a boring fuck.
>citation needed.
The fucking video they posted you imbecile.
Both the beginning and ending of the game take place long after the events of The Phantom Pain. The third and final vial gets destroyed in the cut boss fight. The villain is dead.
Now fuck off.
I believe in you, user, you can still do it
Game was really good, it couldn't compete with Sup Forums's fantasies they cooked up in their hype threads.
Narrative is really strong at the start, and that's the only part reviewers got to try.
*It
t-thanks
>same game
It's a mod, it's not even a game.
>paid off reviewers don't exi-
Also the story was finished.
No "but whaz happened to Likwid?!?" does not count as there being no ending
>Narrative is only strong as the start
>best moments in the game are in Chapter 2
What did you mean by that?
Let's assume that the only thing that really was supposed to be cut was a shitty boss fight, that still doesn't tie tons of plot lines and shows a very disjointed narrative as a whole. Certainly not a 10/10 game by any means.
Fuck PO, fuck Peace Walker, and fuck MGSV
>disjointed
Blame the open world. It had to accomodate that.
>tons of plot lines
such as?
>certainly not a 10/10 game by any means
If MGS4 got those scores, MGSV deserves them too as it's a much better game.
>B-BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS OTHER GAME????
Try harder you fucking kojima cocksucker
>hate half of his game
>Kojima sucker
THAT'S HOW REVIEWS WORK, RETARD. YOU COMPARE GAMES WITH WHAT'S ALREADY THERE TO DECIDE IF SOMETHING IS WORTHY OR NOT
>that still doesn't tie tons of plot lines and shows a very disjointed narrative as a whole
Such as?
Wasn't this the case of journos getting invited to a special weekend at publisher's expense so they would get "earliest experience possible" aka so they can shill the game better?
Where is the last vial, that was missing from Skull Face?
What happens to Huey?
What happened to Strangelove?
They never explain Skull Face's plan.
It's a shit game for retards.
>such as?
Ocelot being a completely different character from the weirdo he was always depicted as
Quiet
Nukes and kid soldiers not being what they where setup as rather than an idealized concept
Dunno, should I continue?
MGS4 is a better game than MGS5, but that really isnt saying much since it's not a good game compared to the first MSG games.
Mechanically speaking MGS5 is miles better than any other game but plot wise nah.
see
Literally all of those are explained in the game.
What the fuck is wrong with you.
Literally all in the game you mongoloid
don't you have to finish the replays to unlock the story missions or at least the ending?
I dumped 80+ hours in first playthru tho.
Real question is how many pointed out game is unfinished and story just stops at one point. Or should I say, how many of these fucking reviewers actually played the game through. I swear to god it seems as if they just watch a LP or something and write a review based on that these days.
>Ocelot
He believes he's working the real Big Boss. For the first time in the series, he doesn't need to put on a show. This is how he really is.
>Quiet
Explained in the tapes.
>Nukes and kid soldiers
Yeah nah.
>Should I continue?
Go ahead. So far you've proven that you can't pay attention.
>MGS4 is a better game
KEK
Let me remind you of Act 3.
>Real question is how many pointed out game is unfinished and story just stops at one point.
Nobody said that because it literally does not happen.
Nope, it works like in Peace Walker. You do two side ops, new story mission pops up. The replays are completely optional.
>story just stops
Main Story ends in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 finishes character arcs. Retard.
>>Nukes and kid soldiers
>Yeah nah.
So, no explanation?
>MGS4 is a better game
>Let me remind you of Act 3
As opposed to act 3 on MGSV?
>Ocelot being a completely different character from the weirdo he was always depicted as
He's openly working with Big Boss for the first time instead of being in the middle of some convoluted triple cross scheme pretending to be something he's not.
>Quiet
Walked into the desert to die so the English language parasites couldn't kill anybody
>Nukes
There's an ending in the game that shows the world was disarmed of all nuclear weapons as seen in MG1/2, but the conditions to get it were deliberately made virtually impossible to achieve because, you know, that is a statement about reality
>kid soldiers not being what they where setup as rather than an idealized concept
You might want to try that one again in English
>Where is the last vial, that was missing from Skull Face?
Mantis gave it to Eli to get revenge on Big Boss.
>What happens to Huey?
Made his way back to civilization, reunited with Hal, married a Brit, had a daughter, committed suicide when his son fucked his wife.
>What happened to Strangelove?
Recruited by Cipher to help with Sahelanthropus development, had Hal with Huey, took Hal away when Huey wanted to Shinji him, Huey locked her in the AI pod until she suffocated to death.
>They never explain Skull Face's plan.
Skull Face's plan had two aspects. First was to use the English vocal cord parasites to remove English as the global lingua franca, as well as developing additional parasite to prevent any other language from doing the same. At the same time he would proliferate a system of nukes controlled entirely by him, thus putting the entire world under his hidden control.
There was never a chapter 3 in MGSV. There was never going to be a real chapter 3. Chapter 3 was to be unlocked with the nuclear disarmament event, that's it. Both are practically impossible to achieve because Kojima was making a statement on real world nuclear disarmament and global peace, that's it.
Listen, I enjoyed MGSV just as I enjoyed MGS4 all I'm saying is neither is a perfect game, all those reviewers were paid or had no fucking idea what the series is all about, even reviewers that ended up not going to the shill camp like Jim Sterling gave it an almost perfect score saying shit like it has side missions that dont feel repetive... seriously?
If the whole point of the game was to leave the players with an actual phantom pain of something that should be there but it's not anymore by both skullface being absent for most of the game and the game itself feeling incomplete then congratulations but it still feels shitty and that is pretty much all we will ever get. No more Kojima MSG games.
>claims it's full of unresolved plots
>is shown all those things were answered in game
>NO NO ANYONE WHO SAID IT WAS GOOD WAS PAID OFF OR NOT A TRUE FAN LIKE ME
Shut up you fucking child
honestly fuck off
go wank to SuperBunnyHop's video
I agree.
>explain why he doesnt like the game
>WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE GAME IS PERFECT I LICK THE SWEATY BALLS OF EVERYBODY WHO GAVE IT A 10/10
Aight, I guess
Who?
You can't call yourself a true MGS fan without getting it through your head that Kojima has literally never given a shit about gameplay first. He's always been interested in narrative and especially metanarrative first with the gameplay been determined to fit that. Open world wasn't him falling for some meme, it was a deliberate choice.
What are the biggest criticisms of open world games? Barren environments, repetitive content, disjointed pacing, and unfulfilling conclusions. What are the biggest narratives in MGSV? War and revenge resulting in endless and repetitive cycles of warfare. You're blind if you don't see how they fit together. Kojima knew damn well what the biggest failings of open world games are and deliberately used them to push his narrative goals.
MGSV story is a masterpiece, only brainlet disagree
Some moments in it are unironically top tier kino.
Friendly reminder that Truth mission and tapes are actually lies.
MGSurvive singleplayer will reveal the ruse, just wait guys.
Ocelot forces himself to believe he's working with the real big boss. Boss even told him to do it.
Doublethink though. Pay more attention.
The game was locked in stasis since February 2015 and forced into a September 2015 release date, if they went for a 2016 release date everything they wanted to do for the game Would've made it in and be completely finished
>pic related
Konami sold him out for ps3/360 gibmedats, it could've been much more if they didn't release it so soon.
>concept art
Mother fucker literally all games have shit like this cut
I still love MGS5 but jesus christ the story was such a let down
The story was the second best after Peace Walker. It was also a lot more realistic.
>high-profile game from venerated series gets high marks from mainstream review sites on name recognition alone
>implying surprise
Also, the fact that the critical reception was universally positive, and not divise on any part, only proves how homogenized and generic MGSV was.
I mainly mean in regards to Big Boss.
After all the trailers n shit I went in like 'aw fuck yeah boutta see this dude become a huge dick'
And that's not really what I got.
check the user scores too, retard
>And that's not really what I got.
And it's not what you should have got either. Big Boss never became a dick. He is not the villain, despite what some people might tell you.
Way to miss the entire theme and concept of the game.
Spoiler: The game isn’t called Phantom Pain because Venom is missing an arm. Kojimbo wanted the player to feel cucked.
yeah dude Big Boss should murder kids and snort cocaine
It would've made it in the game, but the game was locked into stasis and what was ready was polished for 7 months, what was released was amazing
>253 hours on steam.
But if it was finished, truly finished on his time, it wouldve been one of the greatest games ever made, it is even in contention for that now in my opinion.
The theory being that we fawn over what never came to pass, like a fully finished mgsv or silent hills, it would be a kick in the balls if that were true.
>There's an ending in the game that shows the world was disarmed of all nuclear weapons
No.
Just fucking No.
Nuclear Disarmament is not an "ending", it's a bonus cutscene should the community fulfill certain conditions. It's like the birthday or stinky cutscenes, only on a communal level.
>It would've made it in the game
It probably wouldn't have because the value of that item would've been almost nothing given how sparse the landscape is. There are pretty much zero moments in the entirety of the game where being able to blend into a herd of sheep to avoid enemy soldiers would be needed, and especially with how you can't change headwear mid-mission at all it would've been absolutely useless. Maybe if the game had dropped last-gen development and made the current-gen versions more lively, but it's unlikely.
Kojima:
This work is a story about people who have lost their companions and their past. They vow revenge, and try to take back the things they’ve lost. But, as the story enters the middle stage, the more they try to take back, the more they lose everything. Those who assembled for revenge are lost one by one. That is to say, by the chain of revenge, in the end nothing is left. This work is not a “phantom pain”, but is a story of “loss”. More than the final MGS, it is a story about how readers who have lost their heroes and legends, afterwards how they face their “phantom pains"
Big Boss fucked off to go make Outer Heaven and left a maimed and brainwashed lieutenant to be his meatshield and also didn't fucking bother to mention this to his friend who was blinded and crippled while spending a decade waiting or him to return
Big Boss is a huge fucking dick
Knowing Kojima, what you described is a mission he would make.
He did all of that for the greater good. Sometimes you have to do nasty things to change the world for the better.
listen to the tapes
This shouldn't need to be explained to you, but concept art is "an ideal we had"
It's not something that was cut. It's not something that was incomplete. It's something they just didn't go ahead with.
It's as bad as hearing idiots say if Kojima had got an extension playable Battle Gear would have made it into the game. No.
>contrarian being contrarian to other contrarians
nothing more pathetic desu
That is what I am implying, they rushed the game to get what was left of ps3/360 gibs, should've left it behind and it would have been possible, the game could've been like ground zeroes on a grander scale, had they not locked themselves to old gen. And what I mean is higher enemy density and variety, honestly I don't think their was more than 8 enemies in any outpost, strictly because they placated to ps3/360
Going by that logic the entire series is generic.
Gameplay is superb and very good optimized. You call it repetetive, i call it do what i like in a tactical shooter... What fucking faggots you all are
The game was not finished, chapter 3 was cut and so was the virus ending, a 3rd location, and a theorized revisted ground zero. It is also held back by ps3/360 design, not more than 8 enemies on screen at once, I'm sure if they cut ps3/360, 30fps lock for ps4/xb1, and pushed the density and variety of on screen npcs, it wouldve been wholly possible.
This. Battle Gear was explicitly cut for being unbalanced/Super OP. Other than the concept art of Chico from the art book the only significant thing cut or not fully developed for the game was Kingdom of the Flies. And the community manager stated the decision to drop KotF (or at least hold off on development) was made pretty early in dev, long before the whole Konami firing shitshow.
The replays is when the game gits good, enemies have real gear and tranquing and faultoning everything is no longer an option.
>chapter 3 was cut
nigger are you retarded? there's literally nowhere for the story to go from there. fuck off with you fanservice bullshit ending needs
>virus ending
no such thing
