>It didn't fix anything
THANK YOU BASED SONY FOR MAKING CAPCOM CONTRACTUALLY OBLIGATED TO SUPPORT THIS SHIT FOR YEARS TO COME
It didn't fix anything
Input delay got reduced a lot and the new V-triggers are pretty kewl
But it fixed a lot of the hurt and hitboxes. Of course most vappas don't know shit about neutral and only want sick combos.
The game still has problems but AE was a big step in the right direction.
It added lots of single player content. Thats good enough.
The input delay is the same
It was fun for two days. Back to Tekken 7 and then to DBFZ when it comes out.
Air hitboxes are still trash thought, and normal cr. AAs still lack invul so trades are still obligatory. If you didnt know, previous SF games had cr. AA's hitboxes so that they served as AA's and didnt trade if timed right.
Input delay is still the same and most of the v-triggers are objectively worse than the originals.
Is this GOING to be resolved?
I haven't played Tekken 7 in so long.
DBFZ is going to be a short-burst game for me too.
Fighting games are boring now. The skill ceiling is so low.
T7 skill ceilling is still high tho.
Yeah but I've also been playing that for years and with Tekken 7 being fantastically underwhelming, that doesn't bode well.
I like Soul Calibur more than any other 3D fighting game, maybe that'll help...
>tekken 7
>skill ceiling too high
lol no. youre just bad at video games. dont blame the game. blame the person playing it.
Zeku still has baby-tier combos in both forms, who thought it was a good idea to release a two-form character and make both forms have no depth? I want to impress people with my expansive knowledge, not bore them with the same combo over and over again
How is the skill ceiling not high when movement is so hard to learn? MU knowledge is a bitch to get too and dont get me started with character specific things. T7 seems easy since learning combos is quite simple but everything else that has to do with the neutral takes a lot of time to get.
Im still bad tho, so there is that. Just struggling to get past the yellow ranks.
>Shinyuken does absolutely nothing as an anti-air
Why does it exist?
If anything this game got exposed harder.
Having two Ultras in SFIV actually helped a lot of characters with bad match-ups, in SFV having two V-Triggers for the most part just means you have one good one, no matter who you're fighting against.
Becausr he isn't supposed to be played in one form or the other. If you aren't comboing into forms multiple times, you aren't playing him properly.
You don't even know what issues the game had and would have no idea if they were fixed or not, you don't play fighting games.
>Game comes out right when I literally have zero time to play it
This shit always happen at the start of the spring semester.
>It's the Sup Forums doesn't play fighting games meme again
user, the game is shit because it's still braindead mix-ups for massive amounts of stun with very little zoning to speak of and poking your way into a hit confirm or stuffing a move.
The only people who enjoy this game are LITERAL Capcom funded shills and eSports rejects who treat the game like neckbeard MMA.
Just admit you don't know anything
Clueless.
+50 Fight Money has been deposited into your account
No other arguments than to parrot some vague shit you read on here then accuse me of being a shill. I think SFV is in a better place than SFIV was at this point in its development. People hated that shit near release.
>He says while presenting no argument himself
+50 Fight Money has been deposited into your account
My argument was that op doesn't know what issues the game has and he doesn't play fighting games.
That's not an argument, that's the absense of an argument.
+50 Fight Money has been deposited into your account
More of an accusation I suppose. I also don't think you play fighting games honestly. I played SFV yesterday, when was the last time you played one, and single player doesn't count.
I played SFV again for AE.
AE is basically a new game you faggot. It actually feels like an SF that can finally compete with SF3. There are a significant amount of little changes over vanilla 5 that all add up.
Jesus. It fixed the fact SF5 didn't even validate as an interesting game.
CFN? Let's play a set if you know so much
Let's not.
I'm not going to claim I can beat people who like a game I hate.
So you don't generally play them correct? Why are you talking like an authority.
>SFV is the only fighting game available
Distractions at best. Arcade mode doesn't even reward anything beyond art.
>There are a significant amount of little changes over vanilla 5 that all add up.
The core game is more or less the same. A second V-Trigger and some balance tweaks don't suddenly negate all of that.
So tell me, what was so significant where, at it's core, SFV feels like it's up there with 3S.
I asked what the last one you played was and you said SFV, so if the last game you played in a genre was one you hate then you don't play the genre much.
Typical
What if I'm just not a fan of the current wave of fighters?
You don't have to play them regardless of your enjoyment.
More combos you disingenuous retard.
Shit to do beyond focusing on 2 methods of play with nauseating repetition, you utter retard.
Holy shit. AE is actually a different game and you would know this if you played it.
Bruh, AE dropped two days ago.
Then you'd be playing the ones you enjoy. I think they're something you play very occasionally but you still speak authoritatively.
>Ryu has a real thickthrow now
>more combos
Maybe, but it's superficial. The push to really make v-triggers a comeback mechanic is becoming very obvious, but a few combos here and there doesn't suddenly "fix" a game because it's still all just a shitty attempt at fishing for counter hits because of the reliance of the CC system.
>Shit to do beyond focusing on 2 methods of play with nauseating repetition
Offensive and Defensive....and what else? Because to me, it still seems like a majority of the cast is pseudo rushdown, or rather this is the most efficient way to play.
>Holy shit. AE is actually a different game and you would know this if you played it.
You're right, what the fuck do I know.
What would y'all add to this?
Sorry for the strange character choices. I went off SFIII relativity to SFV and the CFN Poll rather than my own personal choices.
While I think C.Viper and Abel are perfect reps for SFIV.
Hard mode: No "Make a Gud Game"
Did they change sweeps' hitboxes?
Chun's c.HK is atrocious
fucking retard
Post your rank you utter shitter.
>it added something that should've been in the original version's base game, that's good enough
Please kill yourself
>main menu gets a "redesign"
>they literally just hit the invert color filter
absolutely embarrassing
I've been playing fighting games since the early/mid 90s and still play weekly at my college and/or local tournaments, I just don't sit home and play online all day anymore.
>Holy shit. AE is actually a different game and you would know this if you played it.
>they change the menu colors
>brainlet thinks it's a different game
>Abel
swap him for Hakan and you have my vote. And the Aussie needs to be a gril
Why doesn't the Alpha series get any love? It looks lit.
It did back when it was relevant, you goon. Those games were great.
>originally release full game gutted of any content. one/two single player AI modes. barely any characters or stages. $59.99
>rerelease game with the $50 worth of character dlc that released since launch. none of the stages, none of the content that can only be bought with real money. $49.99
>none of the original supporters who bought a bare bones shell of a game and were expected to fork out multiple payments to get half the content of any other SF game get anything while new adapters get rewarded
awesome i love being a consumer :D
It's a fucking eyesore, isn't it? Admittedly I'm not to thrilled about the "pay per view" vs screen either but that's grown on me at least.
Where's my boy T. Hawk CONDO SPAYA
But Third Strike is still played widely to this day. Alpha not so.
Which is your favourite and what do you like about it compared to SFV.
>crush counters are bad
Who plays single player in a fighting game. Why would you do that.
>stale is the same as bad
Almost like your reading comprehension so it seems.
Oh actually Hakan would've been a great choice. Maybe as a third rep? Abel was in the Shadaloo Story mode. I feel he was kinda necessary.
I also think C.Viper is the primary Street Fighter IV rep aside from Juri? Got her a place in MvC3.
I based it off CFN polls. I think Fei Long beat T.Hawk by far.
Love his fun BS in Alpha 3 Upper though.
I play single player every day. Good way to practice without suffering connection issues. I also love the lore of Street Fighter and testing odd characters in their Arcade runs.
I personally don't have a problem with CCs but if you think they didn't do too much damage in season 1/2 were you were almost dead after one combo you have braindamage
>were you were
Fuck irony.
In my case because I like the characters so I want to play the game with the characters I like but not having to deal with autists like you
CPU just gives you bad habits. Training is fine and online is fine, but I don't get the appeal of fighting a cpu. You can't condition it or get a read. If you ever land a throw it's because it allowed you to.
>This will never happen because all anyone cares about is multiplayer anyway
fuck c.viper btw, abel and juri are good sfiv reps
Yeah I love being blinded in the middle of the night by a creamy bright ass main menu
The game just doesn't make sense against input reading AI. Half the fun of fighting games is reads and conditioning people.
No. It took a ridiculous amount of effort for Namco to apply the Unreal Engine delay fix patch to Tekken 7. And even then, it ended up with some nasty bugs that had to be fixed afterwards. Harad said it's hard to pull off on an already completed game.
I don't see Capcom pulling that same amount of effort for SFV.
Yeah, but Abel sucks In my opinion, he's a bit boring both in design and story. I hated his inclusion in the SFV story, but at least he finally met Charlie.
ST.
I like how every move and every hit matters, it's primitive in a lot of mechanics but I hate how SFV gives no damage for AA or fireballs, fireballs which so many character had dedicated moves to get around or simply can be jumped in on from most of the screen away without getting DP'd, basically in SFV nothing matters unless you're in someone's face doing a mix-up.
>Thinking Capcom will add even half of these on SFV lifespan
You are delusional. Lower your expectations hard if this is all you want.
This literaly never happened and wasn't even a possibility until AE. Stop making up bullshit. Sf5 before AE was slow, boring as fuck garbage. No character even had the opportunity to do a significant amount of damage in a single combo, counter hit or not, to rival what you're claiming, because combos were like 3 hits and done, constantly raw supers for max damage, 1 hit confirm into super, just the worst most braindead oversimplified attempt at a fighting game literally ever made that sooner vaidated Wii Boxing as having more complex fighting mechanics.
Seriously if you've been playing AE and not been significantly enjoying it, you might be retarded. You are either playing i the exact same as you'd already been doing and not taking advantage of training mode, or you're jobbing with fang or sakura.
Seems like they basically flip a coin on zoning. It's either strong as fuck like ST and 4 at times or crap like 3 and 5. I don't enjoy it personally so I don't care when it's bad.
>Half the fun of fighting games is reads and conditioning people.
Not even close
Well it's definitely not playing against AI.
same for reversal. infact only ex moves are reversal like the past season. game is still shit
>Buying any capcom fighting game
>Not knowing you had to buy the same street fighter 100000000000000 times before you get the full content.
Your a moron. Enjoy your super super mega hyper new higher price street fighter turbo remix hd 4 k 144 hz whore edition.
I know. A man can dream can't he?
I guess, but for me it's great for learning odd moves and adaption. Especially on higher levels. I'd like to see some of Alex's more circumstantial move sets be used for tricky situations. Plus I've been meaning to get gud at blocking. I'm all charge and no patience. Which makes me pretty mediocre online.
Great with rush-down Ryu though. As expected.
Some people love him, others think he's boring. I'm in the middle. I think he's fine; but I do know he's lore important for V.
So I think that's the only reason I'd have him come back. Just to end his story as well as to balance out that SFIV Arcade mode.
Seriously it's really odd to only see one SFIV rep.
Trust me when I say this but I know I'm delusional. It's just that Street Fighter is my favorite game series. I can't help but want all this.
>tfw had fun with SF5 before and am having fun now with the release of AE
Fighting game threads on Sup Forums are always terrible cause people like to talk about the game like they’re actually good at it and think they have educated complaints when really they just throw out buzzwords since it’s the popular thing to do
Congratulations for not knowing a single thing you think you’re talking about lmao
Congratulations on supporting the same game 1000000000000 times. Go fuck yourself and your the reason why gaming is dead. Please do note that YOU are the cause of dead games.
KILL YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
90S TRASH
Fighting game discussions always turn into a shitfest over which game is better or more popular
Not him but it is FREE update. Try reading about it before shitposting.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NIGGAAAAAAAAA!!
Man you're a special kind of autistic.
At least read other peoples posts to the end before you start posting bullshit next time.
Funny, because to me the worst thing about fighting game discussion in any venue is the assumption that everyone who disagrees with you must just be bad at the game.
t. bad at the game
That is the default troll answer. These people should be banned but meh the best can be done is ignored.
do you have to grind the money for base characters or is it just for DLC ones?
No. This is pretty much why AE is good. Hitboxes have been extended for a lot of moves (Especially mp and mk moves), and they have more pushback on them, meaning less blockstring into frame trap bullshit, and it's easier to push your opponent into the corner without a corner carry combo.
>V-Triggers that are objectively worse than the originals
Go tell that to anyone who plays Necalli, FANG, Rashid, Alex, Guile, Ed, or Abigail. Or hell, Urien, Dhalsim, Zangief, Chun-Li, Akuma, R. Mika, Nash, Menat, and Bison's V-Trigger 2 are still good in some situations and matchups too.
>he isn't tired of crush counter forward dash medium medium special move
I mean sick combos would certainly help the game at this point.
>Jump in, standing hp, c.mp, sonic boom, v2, lk flash kick, hk flash kick, ex flash kick isn't sick
You smokin something?
why does every vega no matter what league play the same? its always the same shit
>combo starting with a jump in, baby link, and v-trigger cancel is sick
I'll agree that Guile has some of the cooler combos in the game though. I played him in S1 when I was still trying to enjoy the game. Most of that is flash (no pun intended) above technical skill or substance anyway. I know street fighter is never about combos, but since they decided to make this one so offensive and punishing to get hit I would prefer that they made the actual offense more rewarding and not so lenient with the input buffer and links.
