Personally I prefer autism simulators, fps, highly detailed rpgs, but ultimately any other company (that doesn't have management looking to homogenize gamplay to be inoffensive, so sony & other massive publicly traded ones are out too) could do any genre of game better.

Generic games are just plain old fun no one will have any strong opinions about.
Great games you'll get a lot of people loving it and a lot of people hating it.
And generic sells better, because they're not pandering to any one crowd.
