what are the dynamic and static friction coefficients? and cube weight?

It would just be hovering in between the 2 portals.

If this scenario could actually be created, it would be B.

That is the only answer.

dunno

assume μ_k 0.6, μ_s 0.7 on the ground, and a weight of 10kg. portals are friction-less

regardless, it won't matter. it will go back and forth between both, friction-less portals.

portals can't be placed on moving surfaces

the cube (assuming it was symmetrical) would site halfway outside both portals as this would be the point in which the forces upon the cube (the one pushing it into the tube from the yellow side and the one pushing it out of the tube from the blue side) would be equal.

d)

brap

Box would move into orange portal, and then try to be pushed out through the blue portal.

This is like that other stupid portal thing with the cube sitting on a platform and another portal rushing toward it, going to "crush" it.

Ultimately, it depends on the potential energy of an object vs the kinetic energy. If the item is just sitting there, it's not going to move on the other side if a portal passes over it.

If it is moving, the kinetic energy it has will be preserved through the portal, and will continue on its way.

This is, of course, assuming portals can be placed on moving surfaces.

This is correct

Those were specially coded surfaces. Not coated, coded.

I got stuck on that part because I remembered from the first game that portals didn't work on moving surfaces.

holy shit GOTEM

This is the one I was talking about.
Fuck, these are dumb.

...

>garrys mod
>validation

I'm going off of the "rules" set forth in the actual portal games, not a sandbox game that can do all sorts of wacky shit with items.

>rules set forth in the actual portal games
>that werent ever set forth
>instead of this garbage game
>made in the same engine in which the experiment can actually happen
bud u ok?

As the upper platform falls, wouldn't the air SWOOSH through the orange portal and create a suction that pulls the cube through?

please explain to me how the box magically gets propelled upwards

is the cube made out of some super light material?

Portals can't persist on moving surfaces, they say it numerous times.

NEVAR FORGET amirite you guys? do it for her. RIP.

Well Chell carries them around pretty easily and she is probably pretty malnourished...

...

The kinetic energy of the portal is transfered to the cube as it moves through the portal. To look at it anoter way, the cube is still moving throught the portal at high speed, same as it would if it was thrown through.

unless there's no friction or gravity, the cube will fall off

A. There's no wind resistance inside the tube.

In Portal 2, the portal gun carries it, not Chell herself. In the original Portal however there isn't a special animation for it so who knows.
