>He doesn't own a fightstick
>not even a cheap one
What's your excuse, Sup Forums?
He doesn't own a fightstick
If you can't play a game with the controller that came with the game console, then it's a bad game.
Someone's bad at fighting games
>he says this as I used to ace JJBA: ASB fights
Someone's bad at making an argument.
Sure you did, kiddo
here, have an upvote ;)
It's not that you can't play without a stick, it's that it's generally more comfortable, and it's easier to access all of the buttons
>ASB
He said fighting games.
He also said Sup Forums, not /trash/, so I suggest you go back there with your shitty bait.
>play fps games with a laptop touchpad
>still play Smash Brothers with a Wiimote
I don't mind the handicap. Usually makes the game more even for the other side.
i do have, cant play it. Movement becomes so slow.
It's not even bait. ASB is as much a fighting game as fucking Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm.
Except tons of people are winning huge tourneys like EVO with regular ass controllers. Not even fight pads with the 2 x 3 button layouts or controllers with meme paddles on the back, just the regular fucking Dualshock4 without any fancy bells and whistles
Okay, so fightstick then? Fighting games are designed for arcade first you pad baby.
Let me guess, you also consider Smash a party game.
>hmmm how would this games controls work
>i know! let's forget controllers and use outdated, primitive versions of them, just like the arcades that shut down years ago!
>Hey we're gonna use the same gameplay style that we used all those years ago because the fans liked it and it's what they know
>UM BUT THE CONTROLLER NEEDS TO BE DIFFERENT NOW
Smash is a party game
I did get the cheapest one I could, a mini hori for ps3, and it's awful
Of course I own one already. The Qanba Q4 is still godly. Works for PC/PS3/ and 360. Got a brook converter for ps4 for it. Works great. I still want another fight stick that works for PC/PS4/Xbone/ and now switch.
Why not a hitbox then? They aren't cheap, but they're clearly superior
I want one but the prices are absurd. Thinking of just buying the parts and building one but the casing seems to be pretty vital so I'd probably have to get one 3d printed or something. I want to make one for dissidia and gvs as well.
I don't mind Hit boxes cause it's all preference while playing, but looking at hit boxes doesn't give me that arcade feel.
I have one but I am too stupid/not skilled enough to customize it with cool buttons or decals. I really wanna make mine Shadaloo-themed
You can always get a universal brooks board that'll even work on switch, i think they're like $60? can't remember
What makes a hit box superior to what op posted?
I'm a filthy 09er who never grew up in arcades so I never bothered shelling out the dosh to get one because most games these days don't require much that you can't already do on pad.
I guess by that logic, the Super Nintendo and every console afterwards sold really poorly because it had too many buttons compared to the NES.
Oh yeah, speaking of which; how many kids did you know who had a fighting stick for a fucking SNES?
...
>not using a hitbox or keyboard
There was a fighting stick for the SNES tho
Inputs are quicker, you can do a L then R input far quicker. Saying that though hitboxes/keyboards have very little room for error when making hard inputs
No need to take stick to neutral position to switch sides, or something like that.
Playing heavy dashers/airdashers is much easier even on keyboard because, for instance, you have to to neutral-right-neutral-right instead of just tapping right two times. 360 and 720s are a breeze on hitbox compared to sticks.
Yeah but does it work with switch?
....did you not read?
I don't know how to assemble one.
You sure bet I didn't. I think the better two questions are. Can I customize any stick with this? And will it work for hitbox as well?
Yeah of course. Boards are just the interface between buttons and console, and all the connections are pretty standardized so you can practically do whatever you want with it
What advantage did this offer exactly?
Is it worth getting a fight stick for someone who is a rookie at fighting games? I want to get better so if a fight stick will improve my gameplay I would get one
Keep backtracking, you don't even know what your own argument is.
A fightstick does not make you better, you still have to do the legwork.
No if you suck its not gonna magically make you better thats not how the world works user
Get a cheap one to see if you like the style first. There was a deal on Newegg for a wanna drone for $40 with a code, if that's still up jump on that it's a solid stick especially for that price
Being able to pilot the Statue of Liberty
I have an HRAP V3 SA KAI for the PS3. Hasn't failed me yet. Sanwa parts best parts for me. I'm getting my etokki Omni tomorrow.
Oh okay
not wanna, qanba
I have a cheap one. It's a Datel which was ~30€, basically the same as Mayflash/Paewang.
There are a few mod guides but all the pictures on written articles used shitty imagefilehosters (imageshack/photbucket). There are videos too though.
I know soldering is easy but I've never done it, I'm also pretty lazy. Not sure if you can see it in the picture but there are those pins and I thought about using luster terminals or something like that but I guess if it would work, someone else would've used that method already.
I'll probably continue using the shitty buttons and stick until it stops working (one already did). Luckily I never used a good stick so I can't know what kind of shit I'm using.
I guess 50-60 bucks isn't too bad to upgrade a shitty stick to a somewhat decent one.
Cheap ones aren't worth getting. And I only play Tekken semi-seriously and pad works fine for me for that game.
that's different, tekken's better with a pad. most other fighters aren't
Gamepad does me just fine
It won't make you better but once you get used to it, it feels like you're more in control. Get a cheap one or just use a keyboard (hitbox for non-retards)
If you're a delicate little flower, it will also keep off your thumb from getting sore.
>tekkens better with a pad
Except its not. Most fighters are an exception but for mainly SF and Tekken using a pad is better, especially if you’re using a Mishima.
Fuck, I meant *stick.
You're really good at being retarded, I know that you know that fighters were ported to consoles because people wanted a way to play them, not because a game pad was better in any way. If you really don't know that then you should probably stop posting. Although if you do know that, stop posting anyway.
Not him, asking a genuine question. With two real buttons what the fuck was the point of this let alone marketing it as advantage.
What's your excuse.
Would you play a racing game with mouse and keyboard? Would you play an FPS with a controller? Maybe you would, but there are just superior controls for different types of games, and surprisingly NES had some fighting games.
>one controller for 1p or 2p
>adjustable slow-mo speed
>auto fire
>smooth as butter stick
>good weight, wont move
He should get better monitors, otherwise that's neat
...
I own way too many fightsticks. I think it's over 10 at this point. I guess I just like collecting them.
Gimme one
Nice mouse.
Sell me one, I'd prefer one you haven't cum on
I'm not a negro, so I don't play fighting games.
What do you play white boi?
Is there a decent stick for PS4/PC around 100 dollars? My friend has lots of spare parts lying around so I could probably just mod it
Wow I didn't know that 100% of japanese players were blacks. Fucking internet lying to me again.
Hori RAP4.
All non-whites are basically niggers.
>heres your controller, user
>he pays top-dollar for a marginal increase in ability
>playing a genre where broken controllers offer unfair advantages, and are totally legal in professional tournaments
>playing a genre where rosters are tiny and filled with useless characters
>playing a genre where you're excited for DLC that feature characters that should've already been in the game in the first place.
Fighting games truly are the worst
y'all are fucking autistic , moving your thumb on a good ps d-pad is WAY faster and accurate than moving your ENTIRE WRIST on a fucking fight stick.............seriously......
Unironically own this.
that looks fun
I thought the point of modding a stick is because you can get a cheap one with a decent PCB and case
i got a hori rape 4 for tekken7. no ragrats.
input mistakes are way more common on pad
Ever heard of drumming? You fucking retard. Keep playing NRS shit
>smash is a party game
Shit I really like this where can I get this design?
Too hard to fap with fightstick
Fucking Smash ''what is deodorant'' manchildren
>heres your controller bro
waiting on this badboy
cazuls beware
>baldies
You're responding to a smash player, you already know he's a retard.
Fighting games are shit.
I'm good, thanks though.
>smash players
>retards
have a hori fightpad coming in tomorrow, selling my stick
>fightpad
enjoy the remorse
why
I did the same and ended up re-buying a stick
fightpads are trash
test
I'm using a snes pad right now
Around Black Friday it went down $50 or something like that.
You didn't anser question
Seriously?
I have two. I don't play fighting games
I own a Hori EX2, but it doesnt work, no matter what i do, it REFUSES to accept and download the drivers to Windows 7.
If anything, it can be mod with that PCB for PC but i heard this ones are difficult to mod.
