Why arent you playing this thinking man's game /v?
Why arent you playing this thinking man's game /v?
Becauss I'm at work instead of living in my mother's basement.
Because I already completed the game and I don't care about optimization.
because im not a thinking man
P much this
The game looks cool but I’ll be shit at it
The kind of fun this game is is the same as speedrunning. The enjoyment of not only beating a level but reducing it to the smallest most elegant solution.
I don't care about that kind of fun.
>The Virigin Push vs The Chad Rotation
I like it.
Oddly enough I don't mind the other Zachtronics games, Factorio is one of my favorite games and I enjoy general weirdness like Dwarf Fortress, but for some reason this particular game I can't even force myself to put mental effort into figuring out. I'm sure it's not even hard, but I can't even enjoy it.
>Area 1073
Stop
There's something off with Opus magnum compared to the others. My friend adores it as his favorite, yet I also don't care for it too much.
Maybe it's the lack of scale? We don't know how big the alchemical machine is, and so your frame of reference is lost. Maybe it's the infinite playing field that gives you no boundaries to your solution. I'm sure some folks prefer it being so open, like writing a program from scratch. Maybe it's just the floaty art for the portraits and the UI not being as striking as Shenzhen or TIS. Maybe it's the fact that my sick spins in Infinifactory were more entertaining.
You may be on to something. I've seen people who I would never expect to enjoy their other games really get into this for some reason. It's pretty interesting.
It could be a lot of things, I haven't had the chance to ask what clicks with my friend on this.
I suppose the lack of any limits means that there are no puzzles that someone can't do, while leaving the skill ceiling wide open. Since I'm not as clever as my buddy (always past me on leaderboards for cycle count), so he probably gets a lot more satisfaction out of his solutions, and the optimizations. Where as I'm left disappointed with how flimsy my garbage pile shuffles little balls around, and can't bring myself to keep refining.
This game is too hard
I remember being able to but i've been unable to properly think for 10 years now
>Becauss I'm at work instead of living in my mother's basement.
but you're on Sup Forums with the rest of us
Is that an age related think user?
yeah probably. Remember kids it only allways gets worse
it's not hard to make a streamlined assembly line to make whatever products you gotta do
it's hard to minimise cycles and throughput.
also challenge levels with limited area are difficult, but you don't need that for the base story.
Same. Over the last couple of years I have lost all my logical and mathematical thinking. I can't link things together to solve a problem.
My head hurts and my ears are ringing. I thunk too hard.
i think you can shave a few cycles off, and that second piston is kinda unnecessary
>all these high shekel builds
oy vey it's another shoah, we're not made of money!
tfw all my good ones have too large filesizes to post.
...
I bought SpaceChem on the sale. It's fun. I'll get this one when it's cheaper
