I finally played ZombiU last year. It's a mediocre title to be honest. And the gamepad stuff wasn't as exciting as they advertised. Maybe that's because I'm pretty thorough in cleaning levels out, so there weren't many suprise zombie encounters where I had to go through my bag while being chased.
Somewhere there's an article about the dev troubles of an "unnamed WiiU third party launch game" which is obviously ZombiU and all the modes and features they had to cut because they ran out of time and resources.

Never owned a Wii U. I just know they failed to design a working and responsive inventory UI. That's why the PC version failed like it did.
