Is it beyond saving?

Is it beyond saving?
Is Bungie beyond saving?

There seems to be no goodwill left for either. I think Bungie might be done after this.

Does Bungo actually want to save it? Because they seem determined on generating a new shitstorm each and every week without fail.

Why bother? Bungie has a golden ticket from Actibliz to do whatever the fuck they want for ten years.

So I got Destiny 1 Legendary Edition for like $15 and I'm rather enjoying myself. Online is really sparse though.

Is Destiny 2 worth it at its current price?

No user. Sadly its not.

D1 Y1 player here D2 is trash

stick with D1 senpai, even if online is really sparse theres so much more content and not-broken mechanics that you're better off staying.

Will do. Great game. Can see why it was considered a system seller.

Relsted, I love the aesthetic of nearby familiar planets in the sci-fi setting.

You know at this point I honestly would not be surprised by them just saying they are pulling the plug on support for Destiny 2 and focusing on making Destiny 3 a better product.

They then will release a half finished garbage pile in a year and a half hoping to sell it solely on whatever good will they have left over after which activision will liquidate bungie and just make all their employees work on the next CoD.

I'm not keeping up with Destiny 2 - what the hell is going so wrong with it yall are talking like that?

>no endgame
>broken patches
>jew lootbox tactics locking seasonal loot behind them
>Throtteling players levels to make take longer for loot boxes
>doubling the amout of exp needed for lvl lootboxes after being called out
>only 2 new guns for each faction rally for the season 1 at a time each time.
>Bungo lies to us
>Locking content behind paywall for the first time ever
>Last dlc was shit

Its not a fun time to be a Destiny fanboy

>tfw buying this at launch

It hurts. All they had to do was fix the problems in one and improve it. The game was flipped on its head.

>Put 400 hours in Destiny 2 last year
>Was my most played game on PSN
I feel ashamed

I have onlypreordered 5 games in my life.

Halo 2
Halo 3
FF12
Persona 5
Destiny 2

I feels pretty bad man. They had evey chance to make something great and had a great community behind them. But they pissed it all away

we are listening and we hear you

>Destiny 1 release was massively wasted potential
>By year 3 the game really starts moving toward it's vision, with Age of Triumph being the most kino video game update of the year
>Generate hype because Destiny 2 will ride off the sleeves of Y3 Destiny 1
>Destiny 2 release is literally 100% of the steps taken in Destiny 1, only backwards
>Core systems are changed for the sake of keeping the Crucible balanced
>Released with NO endgame, learning nothing from D1
>Guardians feel nerfed, again for the sake of keeping Crucible balanced
>Exotic weapons are fucking awful with 2 exceptions
>Exotic armor is fucking awful with 3 exceptions
>Shitpiss story
>No building on D1 lore
>Still no in-game lore reader
>LITERALLY 2 primary weapons
>Jewboxes have become integral to the game
>This is video gaming in the year two-thousand seventeen/eighteen
This game, Bungie, and Activision all deserve to fucking die.

I feel you. I had 1300-1400 hours in destiny 1, yet in destiny 2 I have probably played under 20 hours in the last 2 months.

Serious question; do normies actually believe that PR shit? Like even the most braindead of normalfags must surely know that line is complete bullshit, right?

Wtf happened to bungee? I played destiny at launch and haven’t bothered with anything past the base game because I was so dissapointed. These niggas made halo and then shit out this abomination.

This isn't the same bungie as back then.

blame activision

Its Bungie not Activision

Its the people in charge at bungo or the devs or something but this is all on Bungie.

Pretty sure the whole thing is an experiment to see what shit they can get away with pulling.

>Will do. Great game. Can see why it was considered a system seller.
Did you even finish the game? Did you not see how absolutely empty it was? How the plot and story with so much most potential just ended up garbage. holy shit this whole series is awful.

This, do they realize people do not like to be fucked in the ass usually?
I stopped playing when they reduced exp gain to sell more lootboxes, fuck them.

EA already made that experiment. They can go really deep up people asses and people will still buy it.

Even if they do I'm not buying it. I was starved for coop so they got my money and fuck did I learn my lesson.
That's the problem with games like monster hunter and destiny, you can never tell if it's jaded long time vets bitching or if the games are genuinely bad.

twitter.com/MartyTheElder/status/954102900430548992

I enjoy seeing the monthly article about how badly they're fucking up the game and pissing their fanbase off. I hope to see it continue, I want to see how bad shit can get.

I'm honestly surprised that no-ones pointed this out, anyway Bungie has a ten year contract with Activision forcing them to create Destiny sequels within a 2-3 year timespan. The problem is since day 1 destiny's engine and the console power is such a fucking pain to work with. What I think has happened that the scale that they want to achieve is held back by that. So they are half-assing Destiny 2 not giving a fuck and waiting out for next gen to truly do what they want without being held back
youtube.com/watch?v=7KXVox0-7lU
eurogamer.net/articles/2015-10-20-report-sheds-new-light-on-destinys-troubled-development (Scroll to bottom and read least paragraph)

>pc players got vanilla content locked behind a $20 "expansion" just one month after release
Loving every laugh

The game's production was rushed and the finished product is a mess, and Bungie is only showing absolute incompetence at even recognizing where there may be a problem let alone actually attempting to fix any of it. Patches breaking more shit than it gives, something new goes wrong every time.

>Is Bungie beyond saving?
maybe once they're done with making games for activision

People said that when D2 wasn't going to be held back by PS3/360 and look what happened.

You people are fucking retarded if you fall for it a third time.

There was a report that the game was scrapped and reset a year and a half ago because bungie said to Activision that the amount of work needed is too hard and acti is like "ok" and we get this shit

The worst part is that the gameplay for Destiny is exactly what I wanted. I love just retardedly shooting mindless waves of enemies in really fluid fun first person shooter combat. No stealth shoved in, no searching the map for endless collectibles, just fucking shooting. It's so fun, and it's exactly what I wanted in a game during the school semester, I just want to mindlessly unload on hordes of enemies to unwind from studying and doing schoolwork and shit.

But god damn why do they have to keep fucking it up with everything around that shooting gameplay. As much as a fan I am of this kind of game they just have to keep fucking it up. I'm really debating buying the expansion but the fact that I even have to debate something like that in a game I really SHOULD love should say a lot.

>mfw retards don't understand game design

the Destiny community, especially the Reddit one, makes me want to eat a shotgun. Brainless retards flipping shit over everything is what's killing the game.

Even if that was true, who would want to buy it after two flops?

P.S. Is Destiny 1 still worth playing?

Reddit has every right to flip for once this game is a dumpster fire. Fucking Warframe has a better endgame

destiny 1 isn't a bad solo experience especially since with taken king they give you a coin that lets you skip all of the base game and enjoy the actual good story content

>Solo experience
I got the Taken King game a while ago, but I never got the 4th expansion.

>Activision forcing them to create Destiny sequels within a 2-3 year timespan

Sequels don't really work on games like this, they are bound to have less content than the original, you are basically competing with yourself for no reason.

They should have looked at Warframe which has the right idea.

it's a dumpster fire BECAUSE of Reddit.

let's follow the devs train of thought for a minute.

>Ok guys, people hated the gap between release and CoO because they got everything they wanted to quick. How do we fix it?
>Well, what if we put the loot in random boxes so that people need to grind for it?
>Ok, great.

one week later.

>shit shit shit they're all calling us jews what the fuck do we do
>fuck it, let them get what they want, no need to bar loot from them.
>ok, great.

one more week later

>they're saying they want more stuff because they have everything they want

at this point im not surprised if Bungie just doesn't want to work on it anymore. they've had to change direction like 4 times, every time pissing off some part of the community.

>for every plus there is at least 2 negatives
no

You cant deny that 8th gen consoles are shit. Bungie created the engine to be heavily dependent on the CPU and is fucking dogshit as a result. Destiny 3 is the last chance for me - I'm honestly sick of it and so is the Destiny community
>Even if that was true, who would want to buy it after two flops?
Probably no-one, if they do the same shit gain and re-use assets, UI and animations and barely change anything - the game will flop. They need to add space flight, space battles, an ACTUAL open world, quests, in game lore and so much more. It has such a rich universe and is wasted
>P.S. Is Destiny 1 still worth playing?
Yeah, go ahead and get it for cheap
Marketing a sequel is way more profitable then marketing an expansion. Even if they wanted to build upon Destiny 1 they can't they're obliged to in the contract to make sequels.

Why the fuck is that thing in the middle tilted

>Have a level 30 character or whatever max was at base-game
>Want to do the Taken King
>There's a buch of retarded iLevel requirements to do strikes
>All the good strikes need the 4th DLC

I hate with a passion this retelling of history you neet cucks do. Reddit was sucking Bungies dick up to about November then and only then did the opinions change and getting the opinions to change of a place that would bury you and call you toxic and entitled for shitting on the game for years was no tall order. Everything Bungie did and still does for damage control is a joke. People need to realize D2 will never be good. The fundamentals are broken and can't be changed. This won't be like D1 where they throw some more bells and whistles and items at us. This requires a full system change.

opinions changed way before November. Once people chewed through the raid, tje content drought nearly killed the game. Go look at Datto and Byf's videos from the period, neither one could find anything to make content about. It's not that the community hated the game, they just didn't like it because there was nothing to do. In trying to fix this, Bungie started the infinite spiral of fixing problems and creating them.

See the problem with the game isn't necessarily that everyone got everything too quick, that's just one aspect of it. One of the game's biggest flaws is that everyone is just running around with the same shit because it's objectively the best 100% of the time. Back in D1 you could get an Eyasluna and while it was a really good gun statistically if you hadn't gotten the optimal rolls on it you could justify using some other gun because you liked how that one looked and felt more because the perks you got with it are fuckin' great. That isn't the case in D2 at all, and the only thing that really gets you to choose one gun from the other are if it has killclip on it or not.

Now Masterworks are a step in the right direction, you've got a better devils but it isn't a masterwork so you might now want to use that, but eventually if you play for long all the old guns that you were using because they were just great are still the optimal ones to use in comparison to all the other ones and the masterwork perks make them just a bit better.

There's a ton wrong with the game right now and the rewards are one part of it.

Opinions on the Redit did not get to the levels we see now till starting November you lying neet autist. Even after the game was released people were still blindly sucking Bungies dick. It wasn't till the XP throttle where your average destiny fan saw how shit Bungie really were. I really wish I could beat your cucks who rewrite history about this game your lives must be so empty to constantly make up bullshit because criticism triggers you like cuck faggots.

But removing random rolls was just another symptom of the issue I mentioned. To broaden their audience, Bungie made good rewards easier to get. To fix this, they introduced engrams with the rewards. That's when the shitshow started.

Also, there are no best objective weapons for crucible. The "He only beat my because he's using an Uriel's Gift" crowd need to be culled.

??? im agreeing with you.

In sep-oct, there was more passive dissatisfaction than negativity. The fact that everything else came when it did turned all that passive frustration into active frustration.

youtube.com/watch?v=O-x-1kS6TpQ

>Bungie locks content behind dlc in Destiny 1
>retards lap it up
>does it again in Destiny 2
>all the retards screeching about how good destiny 1 was tricks people into buying destiny 2
>they do the same shit again
>everyone flips out
fucking finally

You know it's sad there is still a good chunk on the subreddit that think nothing is wrong with the game?

The saddest thing is, you ask any Destiny 1 fan what they want, and all you'll get is "random rolls!" and "more loot!"
Nothing about the slow bland gameplay, the barren game world, barely any mention of the shitty story and the ridiculously designed raids.
All the fans want is more shit to grind for. Bungie literally could just dump all the weapons and armor from Destiny 1 in the game, put them behind a shitton of grind walls, keep them out of Eververse and all the fans would come running back.

>Locking content behind paywall for the first time ever
They've been doing that shit since the first dlc for Destiny 1.

Looking back,I had the most fun with house of wolves. That's when the game took real substance. Then again it had my waifu.

I wouldn't play Destiny 2 because 1's draw for me was the crucible. D2 has shit crucible gunplay so I'm completely done with it unless something major changes. I think there are a few people that do only want more shit to grind for, but they are also the ones still playing the game.

Destiny 1 was a great game. Not the defining game of the century like it made itself out to be, but it was pretty damn okay.

>Hey, I could get that and play Destiny for a bit
>£24.99 for House of Wolves alone

>Destiny came out 4 years ago

Just get the one with all dlcs and take a trip to a better time. I wonder what I'd be like to play d1 to completion, bet I'd be super comfy.

Bungie fucked up 100% they fucked up. That said D2 would never satisfy what the fans want. A lot of what made D1 what it was, was the fact that it was new and different. You can't replicate that with D2 and so on so the expectations will never be met.

If bungie treated the game as more of an ps than an mmo, would it have fixed anything?

wow. What a shitty game and community. Glad I didn't fell for it

Give me ONE reason to start playing Destiny 1 atm.
I already have Taken King.

Bungie was the one who told activision they would do lootboxes.

>and waiting out for next gen to truly do what they want without being held back

that's assuming they have any talent left and any of the old guard weren't taken away by 343 or just people leaving because of corporate meddling

bungie is doomed to fade into obscurity

Bungie management is pure trash, they have 1k employees and still complain about not being able to deliver on worthwhile content. Meanwhile you got shitters are square enix pushing bigger updates in ff15.
How can bungie have 1000 employees and still complain about them not being able to push out content fast enough, what the fuck have they been doing. Even the last dlc with infinite forest was just the same rehashed area over and over and over only the final part was different.
They should go back to the drawing board, fire people they dont really use and start working on a new engine that can actually support 3 dlc updates a year, 1 expansion 2 dlcs.

Gameplaywise, I see Destiny 1 as a solid fps; good mechanics, fufilling skill cieling and high customizability (especially weapon perks). There's no doubt that bungie can do the fps side well. What I think shit the bed was the mmo part. With the mmo aspect we got the mmo crowd, who I think is the cause of the state the franchise is in; they prefer "endgame" over story, "loot" over complexity and "grind" over a good game.

>Destiny 3 is the last chance for me
Imagine being such a braindead cunt you'll give Bungie another chance after Destiny 2. These people print money because of gullible tards like you

>bungie is doomed to fade into obscurity
Worse. I predict within 5 years Activision will own them and their only job will be to make soulless destiny sequels.

I think he meant locking players out of content they could do previously because they raised the required level for said content with the new "expansion."

I can't prove this but I fully believe Bungie is staffed with diversity hires, woman and soyboys all terrible at their jobs.

Cont. I would bet that it's actually 2 different groups of the community trying to push bungie in different directions and the mmo side winning is causing a lot of openings for the predatory market practices.

>Worse. I predict within 5 years Activision will own them and their only job will be to make soulless destiny sequels.

with things going as they are now that seems unlikely, i think it's possible to die completely given a bit more controversy

Kill yourself

for the franchise to die*

you're probably right, they seem very sensitive and claimed to feel "threatened" when angryjoe got angry over destiny 1 that one time

u first nigger

Yeah i think it can be saved. After all, Taken King really showed they can pull off something if they tried. But this is not the case now. It's pretty much dead. It's just console players and fanboys trying to keep their sinking ship afloat.

This isnt particularly to the game, as yes, it can be saved, but the brand name. The 3rd game will be a dumpster fire hell to sell. Marketing will have to be on point to get alot of people back.

>branches off from Microsoft
>"We want more creative freedom"
>signs on with Activision

Activision isn't at fault here though.

People keep saying that here, but Marty and Staten flat out said that was the case.

Yeah fucking this, been following the game since late 2012. It was never supposed to be like this. I'm fucking saddened because the people you mentioned are now the audience Bungie caters to, and that audience will never ask for anything better. Always asking for the same shit. All the concept art that was put out made it look like a massive open solar system full to the brim with quests, story's, secrets, interesting enemies, weapons and loot - where you would fly planet to planet gearing up your character and spaceship making friends along the way. But no - we get a boring fucking bland small empty dogshit game that will most probably never be like it was imagined.
No it wasn't your delusional

It's true
>removing vaguely similar kekstani armor
>purple haired woman talking about """'toxicity""" in the destiny 2 reveal stream
>second pic wrote the story for D2...see for yourself
>destiny e-celebs distance themselves away from D2
>Bungie twitter proceeds to unfollow them
There is way more, but these are the most recent one's that I can remember at the top my head

>>removing vaguely similar kekstani armor
???

Also the "content creators" thing just looks like petty bullshit on bungo's part. Obviously e-celebs are gonna head for the hills when the game is crashing, but them being vindictive assholes in response just proves they're assholes who don't know how to PR (this should be obvious already)

>tfw clearing VoG for the first time
I've yet to experience anything close to that in D2. In fact, I think clearing Kings Fall was better than anything in D2. The raid designs in D2 are completely garbage. Actually, D2 is just garbage. who am I kidding, Destiny is just garbage, why the fuck do I still play it?

>mfw wasted 600,000 wow gold on destiny 2
-_-

This is directly Activision's fault actually
They strong armed Bungie into "10 years, 3 games" shit
That means 3 games with no progress saved between them, which is fucking retarded for the kind of game they're going for
>Destiny 1 finally gets to a state that shows a semblance of what destiny should be
>"welp time to start over boys lul"

Wow, were you not around on Sup Forums last year? Look up 'Destiny kekstani amour'

Hey, I'm playing the story for D2 and it's pretty okay. Also the gameplay is pretty fun. I'm only at the FPS stage though. And performance, story, etc. When the MMO shit comes in, I'm sure I'll screech.

>he forgot all about Destiny 1 and fell for the Destiny 2 meme
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Are you fucking retarded or baiting? Activision is directly at fault here. They have fucked over staff that have been at Bungie for decades and pushed out Destiny because they didn't give a fuck and wanted profit as fast as possible.

you're whining about the exp, really? me and a friend bought ps4 destiny editions while drunk and made it to level twenty in one 5 hour sitting

You know what nobody really talks about when it comes to Destiny 2? The story. What's your opinion on it?

There's a story?

What pisses me off the most about d2 is the lack of features we had in d1. Barely anything changed, so why don’t we have sparrow racing or max/near-max light level strikes? Why no strike specific rewards? The fucking exotics suck, and not being able to customize perks is bullshit, but there’s no excuse for not having shit that you had already built.

you forgot the best part, all of the changes they made for crucible not only fucked up PvE but also made crucible boring as shit.

Yeah, a full campaign.

They mean the exp after hitting level 20. You keep getting xp, and when you hit a new level, you get an engram. But they throttle this xp so that you buy engrams instead
