19 common core crystals
9 rare core crystals
1 legendary core crystal
411 luck
Anyone care to guess how many rare blades I got from that?
Xenoblade 2 is easily the worst Xeno game made thus far. Fuck this horseshit.

>gacha in single player rpg
It's as fucking stupid as P2W lootboxes in a $60 title. No idea who thought this was a good idea, but they shouldn't be employed anymore.
just pray the cancer doesn't spread to other JRPGs
Don't even think about badmouthing this mechanic! I got KOS MOS in my first hour of playing- you must be unlucky!!
>h-help there is random loot in my RPG!
>tfw 150 hours in and still no KOS-MOS, Kora, Zenobia, or Dahlia
>tfw I'm farming Rottbart and still don't have all of the rare blades
Xenoblade X was better
Luck doesnt matter in blade summon. Even with a 999 luck you will get shitty blades.
Doe s this game autosave when you open a core or something?
Yep
it does, i tried resetting and nope
It's been awhile since I've played, and I haven't played much, I'm also guessing you're restricted to a single save file?
After each one. Not to mention there's an unskippable 10 second cutscene when you open each one, and another unskippable 2 - 5 second cutscene when you release a shit blade.
Keep in mind, there's also a hard cap on how many blades you can have. I'm near the cap, so I have to spend an extra 2 minutes just clearing out chit blades every time I want to try my hand at the lottery.
At 190hrs in I still need Agate and the trap.
Technically, yes and no. No NG+ yet, but you also only have 1 save file per Switch account. You can start an entirely new account and play from scratch, but that does nothing to help you get those last rare blades.
Be glad you don't have either. Their sidequests are fucking horrendous. Especially Agate's. I did it without a guide, and I entirely recommend you save yourself the 3+ hours of headache and just use a guide. It's so, so bad, and it doesn't even make Agate more likable. At least Dagas' sidequest gave him more personality and made him weirdly likable. Agate's is atrocious.
And she's still one of my most used blades, because having break, topple, and launch on Rex is broken.
>there's an unskippable 10 second cutscene when you open each one, and another unskippable 2 - 5 second cutscene when you release a shit blade.
The second cutscene is skippable if you hit the pause button and press A. Both cutscenes should have been skippable though. You already know what you’re getting when the third energy flash hits.
I'm talking about the first one. I always skip the second cutscene, because I'm not wasting another 20 seconds watching a shit blade I'm throwing away in a couple of minutes.
Agate gets quest markers though. Easiest thing in the world.
That’s barely anything.
Yes, but several of them lead to fake outs, a good 3/4ths require a higher level of the skill (which you need to use CORRECTLY to level up), so you have to travel from continent to continent trying to find the right ones, and you absolutely have to find a secret area to even get to level 2 of the skill, with no indicator on how to get there. Keep in mind, the entrance is like 500 meters away, in an icy lake that you wouldn't even know was breakable unless you walked up to it or someone told you.
Out of the 17 or so legendary core crystals I've used, I've gotten a grand total of 2 rare blades from them.
And, if my tally is correct (it's most likely underrepresenting the amount by a good 30 - 40), I've used nearly 400 common core crystals, and 128 rare core crystals, still missing 5 rare blades.
I've never gotten a rare blade for a legendary and I've only gotten one 4 star common. This game hates me.
Not sure what you where expecting from a single player RPG that thought it was a good idea to use MMO style zones and combat in the first place.
The series thrives on the shittiest mechanics and design from multiplayer games.
It's just not that good.
Fuck Stage 5 Tiger Tiger
Took me 100 tries, but I finally got Perfect on it
Xenoblade and Xenoblade X are legitimately some of the best games ever made. Xenoblade 2, on the other hand, is the Xenoblade equivalent of FF8
>Get only like 4 4-star commons and 2 rares from a total of 17 legendary core crystals
How did this shit make it past quality control?
The types of core and your luck stat honestly don't mean shit when you get down to the last 3 or 4.
I don't mind the gacha shit since it doesn't cost money, though at the same time I don't have the burning desire to collect them all.
A truly good game however would've put most of the cores behind quests, rather than 2
I mean, they really do increase your chances. I'm at the final 5 (Kora, Newt, Zenobia, Dahlia, and KOS-MOS), and I've been trying for well over 30 hours since I got my last rare blade. Shit blows.
>Xenoblade
>the best games ever made
I'm currently in Makna Forest. I've been pushing though because the game has so much praise, but this is one of the most boring RPG's I've ever suffered through. It's just a dull single player MMO. I have no idea what people saw in it.
I mean, they don't feel as satisfying to get by quest than by chance. Like the free shiny Gyarados in Pokemon gen 2. However, it would've just been better to have them all be quest blades from the get go. Hell, why couldn't we have some more like Kassandra's? Sure, she has a random chance to show up, but salvaging isn't a depletable resource. You don't have to go farm for hours to get more cylinders to salvage for her.
I mean there's more than two. There's enough guaranteed blades to basically fill out everyone with a functional set. It should really only piss you off if you're a completionist. Like me. FUCK THIS SHIT.
Enemies from Makna onwards can have "spikes", which punish you for just powering through them with no mind to strategy. You can't just topple lock everything like you can in Xenoblade 2, since tons of enemies have topple spikes.
If you think Xenoblade 1 is boring, 2 is far, far worse.
I'm not even a completionist and I'm still pissed. There's legit fucking story sidequests locked behind that garbage. One of the many thousands of reasons why X is better has to do with the fact that there aren't any story cutscenes or sidequests locked behind SHEER RNG.
>with no mind to strategy.
What kind of strategy are we talking?
The same repeated method per type of enemy or something more dynamic and reactionary?
17 legendary cores is again barely anything. You aren’t really meant to get every rare during the story. I didn’t pull any between chapter 5 and 10 which was took over a month. Once you can grind the high level unique monsters it’s not that bad. And have pulled 2 within the last week.
There isn’t a single story quest locked behind it the fuck are you on
I bought this game but I think I might have made a mistake, the auto attack feature seems weird and I don't care for the stupid Welsh/New Zealand/Aussie accent the main character has.
What can I do to help myself get overt this?
Only good thing about this game was cute shota thighs desu
Dynamic and reactionary. Enemies of the same "species" can have various different spikes. Not to mention there are enemies you need to purge, skills that can let you knock enemies off of cliffs for easy kills, and the next characters you unlock are going to be vastly more entertaining than Shulk, Reyn, and Sharla.
Makna Forest is where the game kicks it into 2nd gear.
Do the rare blades not have their own side stories locked behind rolling them? Sidequests are part of the story. I didn't say plot was locked behind them, I said story.
Fine.
I'll push through a bit more.
The RNG system is intended for replayability, idiots. It's your own fault if you try to brute force through it and get all Blades.
The story is shit, so why would I ever bother replaying it? Xenoblade X does replayability right. Xenoblade 2 falls flat on its face and breaks its leg in the process.
This game made me realize the series was always kinda shit, and I only liked it because it was slightly different from other JRPGs.
>the auto attack feature seems weird
Once you get access to combo/chain attacks, battling becomes much faster. The affinity of your blades is important too. It’s just a matter of leveling up, which is easy if you have the habit of resting at Inns often.
>and I don't care for the stupid Welsh/New Zealand/Aussie accent the main character has.
>What can I do to help myself get overt this?
Honestly the voices grow on you after enough hours of playing. But I& it still bothers you by Chapter 4, then just download the free Jap voice dub pack from the Nintendo eshop.
>Has to replay a whole game just to get more characters.
...
SHHH user DON'T SAY THAT HERE
Autist tries competionist autism and thus dislikes an amazing game.
Side quest are stories but not part of the story. Not my fault you’re using nonsensical terminology.
I agree.
Just being "a little different" isn't enough for me to waste my time on this garbage.
Same thing, Story, Plot, Main are all refering to the Quest needed to complete the game. You are talking about optional sidequests.
Name me one game where the random loot is locked to a single party member.
Enough with your pedantry.
Plot and sidequests are just part of the story. X, for example, has a lame plot, but excellent sidequests, world building, setting, etc, so it has a good story.
This is stuff taught in 4th grade English. It's not hard to differentiate.
The extreme amounts of RNG and grinding deter me from replaying it honestly. I never want to go through the bullshit of rolling the blades I want or endlessly grinding Tiger! Tiger! or doing Ursula's retarded affinity chart again. That's why I'm eagerly anticipating NG+.
Eric's retarded whining aside, I think you could have the system of blade variation without the gacha and it would've worked better.
Nah the story is great. Sorry you don't like the core of the game senpai.
>game has a mechanic that only completionists have to grind for
>apparently the whole franchise is shit now
Only on Sup Forums
The game is by no means amazing. It's the weakest in the entire Xeno series, even worse than Xenosaga 2. Though I'm guessing Xenoblade 3 is going to be GOAT like Xenosaga 3 is.
>Xenosaga
Good game -> Painfully mediocre game -> Great game
>Xenoblade
Good game -> Painfully mediocre game -> ???
It just pisses me off.
I have SMT and FE for my fastfood JRPG fix, if Xenoblade can't take the time and effort to make something cool, who will?
How is it not amazing. HOW THE FUCK is it worse than saga 2. Explain this to me don't just throw away accusations.
Eric doesn't know enough about the game to whine about Gacha, you paranoid buffoon. The dude just points to the artstyle and fanservice and calls it shit because he legitimately is too stupid to know better.
With that logic EVERY quest would be a story quest.
>Entire characters are unlocked at random and at an incredibly low chance. (Don't defend this shit. Please.)
>Combat really isn't all that great
>There's really not much else to do other than the generic MMO style sidequests
>Story isn't all that interesting beyond the original settings.
It's probably not gonna work out like that, they sold out to ironic weebs.
Great game but gacha is the worst part. Should have just locked it all behind side quests.
God awful story, gacha-shit for the good blades, tries too hard to recapture the feeling from Xenoblade 1 yet falls flat, the vast majority of the characters are garbage, even worse than X's cast, grinding makes progression feel really slow, combat is completely broken to the point where you can destroy anything that doesn't OHKO you easily, and the equipment system is garbage.
It's entirely inferior to X and the original in every way except for music. I can't think of a single other quality it has over them. Well, faces, I guess, but the competition isn't really stiff in that regard.
This. It would've been better that way, but fuck Japs and their love for gatcha.
I hope NG+ let's you carry blades over, and assign them to whoever you want, cuz fuck this game if I have to get all the blades again.
Games not great but given how well this sold we will probably be getting more jrpg ports in future.
There's nothing the least bit ironic about X2. Every trope is played straight through the generic art style.
Regardless, ironic isn't enough anymore. It must be totally self aware.
Yeah, sidequests count towards making a story better. Game stories can be good without them (see: the majority of Tales of games), but they definitely help the game's story out.
>idc
>It's pretty good
>So you didn't play the game
>I disagree
Opinions, neat, aren't they?
Localizations I mean.
I hope they port X and clean it up a little. That way everyone can see quite clearly how much of a downgrade Xenoblade 2 was.
And also, I want to replay through X a second time.
Did you even play the game ?
guys...how the system works is that rolls for your blade type first and then rolls for name. also as names get taken it takes off the possible list but if you release a blade the name goes back into the pool.
the reason why people can get a lot of shit is because you can be wasting rolls on a type you already have all the best shit for. Also since 2 types are shared for each booster 50% of the time you will end up with the wrong one anyway.
Yeah, but opinions can be wrong/shit. Some people honest-to-God believe in flat Earth bullshit.
I meant the players, not the game itself.
Only ironic weebs stomach those cliche tropes and never ask for anything better because "Anime is shit anyway lol"
149 hours, cocksucker. It's only good if you hadn't played previous Xeno games. They're all way better. I suggest you get onto playing them right away. They're quite the treat.
new game plus is literally nothing. it is just going to allow you to use certain blades not available on your first playthrough. if you dont like vanilla this shit isn't going to do anything for you.
Well, yeah. That's why I have Zeke with base 9 Justice to everything else being at 6. Still no KOS-MOS, though I did clear all of the dark blades already.
The Switch can't handle X, not even the Wii U could handle X without a shit ton of patching
>idc
Then don't argue in favor of it against naysayers. Otherwise I might get the impression you do care for some reason.
>It's pretty good
It's incredibly dull. Just enough mechanics to demand your attention, but not enough to keep it engaging or enjoyable. It's a feeling that reminds me of homework back in high school.
>So you didn't play the game
You got me. Just the first. But we are talking about the series, and I'm also opperating on what I've heard about 2. Is there at least more to do in that one? Because no one's talked about it.
>I disagree
ok
We're talking about videogames you absolute faggot.
You want to say a game is bad with shitty reasons and without arguements.
You are on the flat earth side.
The Switch can't even handle 2. I don't really care if X runs at 30 fps with stutters, because that's exactly how I'm "enjoying" 2 at the moment.
Played the previous games. 90 in XC2. All 3 are great. Suck a dick.
>Some people honest-to-God believe in flat Earth bullshit.
That's not an opinion dipshit. That's a belief that can be disproved with actual physical evidence.
The first game's NG+ let you carry over tons of equipment, skills, talents, and all of that other good stuff. They're definitely going to let you carry over rare blades into NG+ for Xenoblade 2. That on top of the new content will make it worth replaying.
Also I love this game. But only enough to go through the insane amounts of grinding once.
No, I gave proper reasons and arguments. I can go in depth and break down why every single one is bad, but I'll be here for literal hours and have to post walls of text that no one in their right mind would read through. I gave you the TL;DR.
Were I a famous Youtuber, I would make a 1 and a half hour deconstruction of Xenoblade 2, just to show why it is undeniably worse than Xenoblade and Xenoblade X.
Eric you might actually be the stupidest human being that has ever lived. Governments started eugenics programs because they knew someone like you might one day be born.
I see you've never been in a Flat-Earth thread before. They're a fucking spectacle.
>If I ramble long enough, I can prove my opinions are facts!
That's so very very sad.
>341 luck
>open 300~ legendary for the last few blades I need
It only took me a 3-4 hours to get all those cores. It really isn't that bad compared to some other stupid shit. Gacha is still horseshit and the menus are still ass. The thing that makes this the worst shit to do ever is opening the god damn mother fucking cores like holy christ is that the most stupidest fucking shit ever. Go fucking die in a fire whoever planned that shit.
I'm not Eric, I just knew I had to buy a harddrive to install the patches for X.
I have user. People being dismissive shitposters doesn't change reality. They're not worth the time of day.
name one game where you have to spend 30 or more seconds to find out what that one loot contains
2 is definitely not great. It's a solid 80/100, but that's an entire order of magnitude worse than both previous games. It just does so much wrong that it can't redeem the shit like gacha-blades. X and the original have their own gobsmacking retarded flaws, like Tatsu, but the rest of the game more than makes up for it.
How'd you get the cores? I beat the game but I still don't know how to fight the level 99 Arduran, his AoE kicks my ass.
