No.
maybe
yes
I don't know.
I had a lot of fun in the beta, but what little content we saw was pretty easy. Crafting costs for some items also made absolutely no sense
It was far cheaper to craft two 120rd heavy machine gun placeable setups than it was to craft a single 30rd magazine of 556
I really think this game's biggest issue is that it has Metal Gear in the title.
Not even the game is built on is good.
On it's own, it's a generic zombie game that fails to stand otu in any way.
Fun
Was mgsv "good"?
meh
I wonder if anyone datamined it.
inb4 you can't datamine on consoles
Didn't stop people from datamining PT.
>inb4 you can't datamine on consoles
who has ever said this when tcrf exists?
Anything without Kojima is bound to be an improvement.
Its not a travesty, but its not that great either. It does what it wants to do well enough, but at the same time it doesn't stand out from the other co-op options you have out there. Maybe for 20 dollars it'd be worth it.
ow the edge.
Cause you can keep moving with the gun, duh.
I mean the console without CFW and such. People still use "there's no PC beta/demo to avoid datamining" as argument.
>Metal Gear
>without Kojima
>"good"
You must be 18 to post here.
>gameplay of v without the fucking awful and unnecessary Kojima plot
Sounds perfect to me
probably not
Ghost Babel. He didn't write or direct.
It's its biggest sin, but there's no way a game like this would get enough attention to survive without the brand tacked onto it
I understand the gameplay balancing rationale, but gawd
It becomes even more glaring when you start crafting 300rd autonomous turrets at the sameish resource expense as ten rounds of buckshot
Ghost Babel slots into the MGS timeline quite well desu,
>yfw Marionette Owl is the serial killer that broke Psycho Mantis
They really do need to make crafting automatic when you are in the pre-game lobby. I guess they don't want to cause you are supposed to carry your singleplayer stuff over into multi.
I'm almost sure the gunner class will have some skills about ammo conversation/crafting though.
I've seen this game get praised endlessly, is it actually good or is it just a meme? Cause it's a fucking Gameboy game.
>gameplay of v
>as if this was something good
>when the entire game focuses on the new, awful mechanics
It's probably just the same problem with progression all games have. Weird shit going on at the low levels because the game is balanced for the max level.
The only people who claim to like it are in Sup Forums, and only do it in spite of Kojima.
If this was good someone else would be paying attention to it, but even the ones who claim to like it would rather shitpost than talk about it.
It's a good display of the technical capabilities of a GBC.
It's pretty cool with some cool story bits, cool boss fights, simple gameplay but the soundchip is a bit assy but for some tracks it sounds really nice.

The game is rated E but it's still Metal Gear dialogue that the ESRB clearly did not get to, like the human sized dolls made from dead human or the guy that creams himself as he burns alive.
FUCK. Didn't realise it ended yesterday. thought we would get like a week.
I ended up doing other stuff all weekend after installing it Friday.
Does anyone know if they are putting it up again before launch?
I honestly liked the brief periods of crafting in the prematch lobby, as fun as trying to craft while getting grenaded could be. I'd also really just like the resource costs normalized to make sense so that a molotov cocktail costs far less than an oil barrel, shit like that
>the gunner class
god I don't even want to imagine a dedicated ranged class at this point. My blue +5 composite bow was already oneshotting generics and threeshotting boomers
>Weird shit going on at the low levels because the game is balanced for the max level.
That's more likely than naught, but damn there were some weird costs in the beta. Far easier to build a steel watchtower iirc than a small 4x4 4ft stack of sandbags
>Does anyone know if they are putting it up again before launch?
It should be ogre by now since it was supposed to end on the 21st
If you're a PCfag, GMG still has a 22% off code at the moment for the next 24hr or so on the VIP page
>but there's no way a game like this would get enough attention to survive without the brand tacked onto it
I think the inclusion of Metal Gear in its title is actually what ultimately ends up killing it. The announcement of this this game could not have come at a worse time.
>pretending this hard when there's so many youtube videos, media previews and even threads on reddit
Forget raw damage, imagine if you could bounce bullets like Ocelot. That was already in the game so it's probably in.
>fire fat fucking revolver, bullet bounces and kills like 6 zombies.
I'd love a ricocheting gimmick, getting kills in MGO as Ocelot with that shit was the best
>fat fucking revolver
I got the recipe for .44 ammo in the Survive beta, but never found a gun for it god dammit. I did get about ten blue recipes for the same pair of elbow pads tho
I enjoyed the beta enough to preorder it.
>all the hate the game and konami is getting will make contrarians buy it
>I honestly liked the brief periods of crafting in the prematch lobby
I really DON'T, when I have to wait nearly five minutes for matchmaking, after which some fuckwad goes to drool at the crafting bench for another three before the mission auto-starts. They really should have let you craft while the game searches for players.
And then when everyone IS in the ready circle, someone starts throwing grenades blowing people out and resetting the timer.
don't worry it'll be f2p soon enough
I'm suspicious of it's quality; what if they just made the beta pretty and fun just so people lower their guard and end up with a "pay $2 to make that 1 hour timer go away" kind of game?
How the fuck do you dive in this shit?
press the dive button.
There were no timers for anything. I can see them nerfing the amount of materials you get though and selling material packs or something. I had so much iron I basically had infinite normal fences. They probably increased the numbers for the beta.
timer bullhsit has been confirmed in the single player previews
It's not square like in V and I've tried every singe button on the controller. There is no dive button or at least there isn't in the default control scheme
I think it was double x; I didn't like the control style they chose for the beta, I really hope we can change them back to mgs5's style in the full release.
>pay to make the timer go away
well faggots play warframe so it will probably still make money if they do that
Oh, I guess that sucks. It can't be worse than MGSVs though, and I'm not interested in it for the single player.
Were any of the melee perks worth it?
It's better than I expected, and also improved a lot from what we saw of the early trailers. But what else there is of it better be a lot more interesting because that horde mode isn't going to stay interesting for long.
Also, effect descriptions tend to be kind of weird (with traps talking like the player is interacting with enemies in how they work), while all items and materials don't get any description beyond their name, which is lame.
I'm optimistic, though.
The sweep kicks and running attacks are useful.
>404318468
hey I play warframe and I'm not a faggot.
Doubletap X while moving in a direction to panic dive
What timer bullshit? The only shit I've seen so far was some gay pay $5 for 2% resource gain for X days nonsense
There were no crafting times in the beta
The charge attacks no, but the running attacks yes as long as you weren't using a sledge. With a +5 weapon and proper timing, it was ez to clean an entire mob, especially if you had the dodge cancel perk
Boomers are a joke when you find out they have a weak point.
it all just seems to be one of those games you have to sink endless time into to see any cool stuff and you're always chasing after a number that is just out of reach at all times. meanwhile instead of rewarding you for your time investment, they're showing you how you could have saved all that time by spending money
prefer not to say
Yeah it's called age.
they added ocelots revolver to MGSV through a FOB event so hopefully it's in this too
youtube.com
>tfw we will eventually have access to shit like the brennan
man waiting 32 days is going to be torture
>there's no open-world co-op exploring
>only the canned, cordoned off multiplayer instances
I mean, they never explicitly said so, but you'd think it would be obvious. I don't know why I expected them to do even one simple thing right.
I was perfectly open minded and willling to give this game a chance, but now I have no interest in it anymore.
So the game will be unplayable after the servers eventually shut down? How long are they obligated to keep them running for?
I always shoot them in the legs. Is that not it?
>obligated
lmao
They have a little circle on their back that takes massive damage.
you can play without the servers being up, seems to work a lot like phantom pain
nope confirmed always online, even in single player
Same, but only because of the GMG offer. I'm cheap enough that an extra $9 would have kept me away.
I've never even been behind one. Another protip: if you stealth kill Detonators, you can loot their bodies for some nice resources.
>cross=medic
>crosshair=marksman
>wrench=engineer probably
>triangle is survivor
what's the shield class? surely it's not specialized into melee when most of the survivor tree is melee skills
Have you even seen the singleplayer? It's mean to be mostly sneaking about in fog hiding from zombies. It's meant to be tense. How the fuck do you think co op would work with another fucking faggot there
Do arrows have crits or something? Sometimes they pierce multiple enemies and I don't know why.
All I ever found on detonators was small amounts of really basic shit.
go in a lobby alone and unplug your internet it says it's changing to offline mode and you can continue playing.
even gives the same message as TPP about shared online resources not appearing till you reconnect.
Sometimes they have junk, but they can have batteries and stuff and rarely an ammo box that completely fills your ammo.
I've noticed that, too, but I'm not sure.
Support? Like, they can hold more ammo and hand it out? Or maybe more fences with better durability?
If you lost connection during the beta it'd come up with a message saying "offline functions are not available in the beta", so obviously you don't need online for everything.
why are you lying.
where did you see other class symbols?
that sounds like a better fit for whatever the wrench class is, it's the same icon as the crafting symbol
>Konami said Metal Gear Survive requires a constant internet connection so the game can offer a "seamless" experience as players move between single-player and multiplayer. "Metal Gear Survive's online connectivity requirements were built to support a seamless integration between single player and co-op. This will also enable us to provide ongoing content post-launch."
do you guys think they will have the MGO3 appeal actions in survive? youtube.com
I want my dance actions back
>60m effective ricocheting range
hnnng
I could cover the entire desert mine map with that shit and a bit of guesswork
I swear everything has the potential to unexpectedly crit for an extra 200ish or so damage
You're right, it's often a couple white items at 1 stock each alongside a green item or two
Kinda sad it's easier and faster points wise to chop a 7wood tree than sneak up on a detonater
What about buffs then? Like, they pose or something and you shoot better.
>the game itself proves this statement wrong
>posts it anyway
and we're telling you it did not work this way in the beta, there's a lot of weird information surrounding this game even from konami.
I personally unplugged my ethernet cord, got that error message and could continue playing.
one of the help screens about multiplayer had a bunch of nameplates with various class symbols
>they'll never learn
i had a lot of fun in the multi with my friends
singleplayer seems to be more about sneaking and building a base so that is nice
looking forward to it
Swimmingly, if the "other fucking faggot" is your friend from real life who is also interested in some loose, not time restricted exploration with a little sneaking and scavenging thrown in.
oh shit
>holy shit, you guys! MGsurvive doesn't require PS+ because the beta confirms it! Who cares what official sources say, I'll just believe what I like to hear.
What did the tactical support functions do?
No one mentioned PS+ you dumb fuck.
@404320392
>obese brainlet who never played the game
>I'll just believe what I like to hear.
Right back at you, hypocrite. You keep preferring a random pr statement over the game itself proving it wrong.
I called in interceptors once but don't know what they did. The second one is an ammo resupply, and the third is Ray.
No idea what interceptors do, but extra ammo gives you two full ammo refills shared amongst your team for 50k which is great to buy and reload your shit while speeding the drill
Ray for 100k sprays a couple lanes for 100k which really isn't worth it
>over the game itself
*a beta that tweaked its features to be more advertisable
You guys must be shills, because nobody can be that dense to call official PR statements into question just because they don't like them.
>*a beta that tweaked its features to be more advertisable
Except they didn't advertise the offline features at all, most people still think it doesn't have any. Why would they go to the effort of adding content to the beta that the final game won't have?
>You guys must be shills, because nobody can be that dense to call official PR statements into question just because they don't like them.
What are you saying? That PR statements are always true? Even though this board makes fun of them all the time for being bullshit like "this was added for the sake of the players" or "this will help the game grow in the future"?
I know Sup Forums told you to hate this game without playing it first but that's no reason to act so dense.
