Did anybody here try to play Divinity Original Sin 2 with 512MB of VRAM?

what's the rest of your setup? you'd be looking at 480p at best probably. I don't think the game is very VRAM hungry but 512MB is fucking minuscule nowadays.

I want to play it on an older laptop. 8GB ram and an i7 at 2.8GHz. I don't care so much about great graphics, but I need to be able to play without too much hassle at 800x600 resolution.

ram and cpu should certainly be adequate, but what brand is your gpu exactly? an older GPU on a laptop is most likely not going to be enough because it's already a cut down version of the original design.

It's an NVIDIA GPU. I can play D:OS1 on it without any problems. I have serious doubts about this game though. I'm not sure if I should get the game.

Yeah, but that's the most intensive scene in the game bar none lmao. I had my FPS drop to the 20s as well on a 970.

Not very informative. What are we talking about here? a GTS 250 or something?

Yeah, it has a lot of effects and it could start lagging and overheating, making it unplayable. I am not sure about crashing?

It all depends how optimized the game is.

Don't think that's possible, at least without modding game files. Here's very low settings at 480p

Nvidia has literally hundreds of cards out and even current gen cards can range from smart watch tier (1030) to supercomputer tier. Fucking name the card

NVIDIA NVS 3100M

I can play many games on it, but I think I might be pushing it here.

I could live with that, I think. What mod is that?

No mods - just look at the VRAM usage (second line). It's over 800 MB right after loading the game

Damn

Nah senpai you're totally fucked. Modern integrated chips are better than that card

It might not need that to play without stutters though.
I'd wait for the inevitable console version instead, might come this year. I don't think your card is going to cut it from what little research I did, it's slower than many of the modern intel on board GPUs that can barely run the game.

Thanx for the help. I better forget about this game for a long while.

Stop trying to play games on your dads work laptop my friend

If it helps, at launch the game felt very rushed and buggy in the later acts, so waiting might not necessarily be a bad thing as Larian continues patch it at a regular interval. I'm sure the console version will be the better for it.

Lol, no, it's mine. I usually play old games only, but this one looks really good.

Any good D&D quest mods out for this?

If you don't have third world tier internet speeds you could look into nvidias game streaming service if you really want to play it as it's available on that. I can't vouch for how good it is but there's supposedly going to be a free trial when it comes out

I'll wait and see, patiently.

Had to cheese this fight two different ways to complete it. Fun, but exhausting.

Surprisingly strong card. Have a similar workstation card. If I remember correctly you won't be able to run the game anyways due to not having directx11 capabilities.

It is an amazing card, it has surprised me sometimes. Yeah, it can only run DirectX 9c. Usually that's enough, but I never tried to run a very new 3D intensive game on it.

It simply won't launch is my guess. I tried playing Dead Rising recently and the game requires a higher DirectX version than my card supports. Have you already played Arcanum? Might interest you if you enjoy CRPGs but cant play DOS2
