Crusader, Highwayman, BESTal, and Plague Doctor still best line up

How well can a hero do without armor/ability upgrades in Veteran level dungeons?

I got some Rank 3's I can use, but their quirks are nothing special, so investing in them feels like a waste.

Requesting guide

what do you think of s-purple?

piece of shit who stole a bunch of assets, repackaged them and sold them off as his own game

Upgrade them. A "nothing special" rank 3 is far better than someone fresh off the stage coach.

armor and ability upgrades are way more important than quirks usually

>make a 0-torch light team of jester, grave robber, occultist, and hellion
>slap as many +crit shit on them as I can
>occultist gets to a natural 30% crit rate holy shit
>they land so many fucking crits that that becomes my main source of stress healing, not the jester
I learned how to use jester at last. Instead of putting him up front and immediately using finale, you put him in back and let him use solo before finale for an enemy-wide debuff followed by a fucking nasty 40+ damage crit. Then he can stress heal bot like normal or use dirk stab if necessary.

Should I lock Hard Skinned on this Occultist?

he is more a dodge guy

No, I don't bother with +prot shit unless it's a class that either gets prot through one of their skills or they're naturally high in hp.
Do you think I should lock precise striker (+3% melee crit) on leper? Or hold out for more eldritch stuff? I already have fated locked even though it's apparently shit.

Did someone try modding monsters to the game? Please help ;_;

Reminder that the Abomination is cute and not to be feared

>tfw you can't decide on what quest to do because every reward is equally unremarkable

Is Precise Striker worth locking onto a DPS class like a Grave Robber?

Just how impactful is +3% crit chance?

she'd probably prefer the ranged +crit quirk because the only melee attack you wanna use on her is lunge and that already has an absurdly high crit modifier

what's a better skill, bleed out or if it bleeds?

Threadly reminder that this shit belongs on /vg/

They each have their niche, if it bleeds at least doesn't debuff her. If you take wicked slice, if it bleeds, and iron swan, she's able to hit every single rank. On the other hand, bleed out is useful for big guys and bosses that you wanna bleed as much as possible.

>Veteran 90% explore Warrens
>Town event +15% virtue chance
Nice I need some dosh and I can go abit more risky
>Annie/MaA/BH/Lep
>Going just fine. Nothing too bad.
>THE COLLECTOR
Awe yeaa going to get mad dosh now
>Fail pull
>5 fucking Collected HwM crits on MaA. Deaths Door
>3 Hero's resolve tested
Here we go!
>Abusive, Irrational, and Macochistic
>Show collection for all HwM
Alright ancestor I get it. Fucking reminded. Still made it out with more dosh then I spent.... You fuck.

Recently I've come to a realization about this game. It's like sex. The first time is equally interesting and scary. You know nothing about it, and the only thing you know for sure is that someone is going to be fucked hard.
After you got used to it its your source of enjoinment, something you wait for everyday.
From that point it could get boring occasionally, but every now and then you got REMINDED and feeling like a sassy virgin again. After that you need to prove that your crit rate is still huge.

Just remember to use (man at arms) protection.

Impressive haul! If you value such things.

I fought the collector just a couple hours ago on probably the worst collector fighting team of all time. I was using arbalest, antiquarian, vestal, and leper. Only the leper and arbalest could really do decent damage to him, and with absolutely no way to stun the collected men at arms it was a fucking SLOG to kill them when they stacked +75% PROT on themselves and kept getting healed by the vestal heads. I think it took me 30 fucking turns to kill him and I was never in any danger of dying, he just wouldn't go down. For reference there's been parties where I've killed the collector in 2 turns flat.

I want Dismas' coat. Where can you find something like that?

prepare to pay out the ass, it's called an overcoat

While I lock in Quick Reflexes, should I treat my Hellion's Nervous, Necromania or Fear of Unholy.

The first two are severe.

nervous I guess, none of those are really worth getting rid of imo unless you have the dosh

Its more of a choice of their rank, right? My biggest problem with bleed out is that it only hits front rank, and that doesn't go as well well with the jester who does go well with if it bleeds since you can nuke the middle ranks with bleed.

None of those have a fur lined collar

well I gave you the name, DYOR

I wasn't even that user

I wish. That new thing is less monstergirl and pure furfaggotry.

Okay so whats youre champion teams?

...In that order, back to front?

>tfw still putting off DD2

I'm still putting off DD1

4 antiquarians

That some food for thought now...

Fucking WISDOM.

His Cataphract mod is cool and he draws well. Waiting for more.

This line will not break!

We hold as one and strike as one!

hmm

>doing 0 torch run with jester, grave robber, occultist, highwayman
>it's going well, crits out the ass and shit
>suddenly shambler, this is the first time it's ever happened to me like this
>luckily my party loves getting shuffled around
>highway man fucking CLUTCHES it, does two critical ripostes in a row on the clapperclaw things that oneshot them
>grave robber kills shambler with one final lunge
>everyone survives with 3 hp or less
>get ancestor's map which is supposed to be a great trinket
probably time to retreat but fuck yeah

>shriekers steals my shit because I ignored him
>kill him to get it back
>vvulf shows up
wtf do I do now? can I beat him with 2 level 6 musketeers, a level 6 highwayman, and a level 5 rabid dismas?

>musketeers
You mean the mod class or the arbalist reskin?

MAA vs Arbalest colours, right?

SJW devs confirmed

got really lucky and manage to scout enough to avoid having to fight many more battles and still finish the quest, that was some tight shit

the reskin. I'm playing using only musketeers and highwaymen.

I'd back out since you got Dismas with you. Also how do you play two arbs/musketeers and two hwm? Mainly riposte and sniping? Any mark syngery? Did you back the kick starter, or where can I find that reskin?

found it
bad news: is out of stock
us.asos.com/gianni-feraud/gianni-feraud-premium-removable-faux-fur-collar-cashmere-blend-military-coat/prd/8139461?affid=10607&transaction_id=102bf1edf5d2a158cff795e59d8df6&pubref=1023

send a single level 0 to die, he'll leave you alone for a while

I shoot things until they die

I have to kill him eventually don't I? should I stall until I can get the level 5 armor upgrade?

>model has ear portholes and hand/face tattoos
what the fuck

About to figh my first champion boss, the necromancer. Not too worried about the fight itself, the way up to him is my main concern because I only ever did short champion quests so far.
Was thinking about PD, occultist, GR and crusader, gonna try pulling the trumpet asshole to the front when he shows up and hope that two club skellies show up too so I can stall indefinitely to fix my dudes.

I'd get a good healer and a MAA

skeleton_common.sprite.attack_melee

well I decided I would go for it and quit if anyone died. it ended up being pretty easy since vvulf's guard made it so I could hit him with point blank shot even though he was in the back. I only got moustache cream from the loot though.

Should have explored the rest of the dungeon, could have gotten 3 ancestral trinkets

kinda makes me want to try two PDs and two HWM just for double glass cannon

Might pick this up on humble store, just have one question
Do you have to cover every party members inventory/stats and do each of their turns in the combat? I don't really like party management (which i suspect most of the game is) but the rest of the game seems pretty fun

Short answers is yes there is a lot of party management. In fact, its all about having a good party composition that works together

from side rooms? my hp was pretty low and I didn't want to risk any more fights.

I don't know if plague doc could kill the barrel fast enough

>just fought formless flesh with double shieldbreakers spamming impale
I have never seen a boss get memed on SO fucking hard.

>I've officially checked off every caretaker goal except killing countess and finishing the Darkest Dungeon itself
>and leveling a jester to resolve level 6 I guess
And now, the true test...

are quirks worth paying any attention to because so far all I've done is ignore them unless they get kleptomania

A lot of negative quirks for your heroes to do things that can really fuck over a run.

some are more valuable than others, generally it's a good idea to lock eldritch quirks because the darkest dungeon fucking blows and you need every advantage you can get in there

>force

>confident there would be no DD thread to keep me up late AGAIN

please, i'm an early bird wagecuck. CEASE!

>today_I_will_remind_them.png

New Color of Madness info when? The wait is killing me.

I'm so scared of DD2 but I don't wanna look up anything about it. Time to just assemble a decent team with stress resist and suck it up I suppose.

alright cheers fellas I'll keep an eye out for any eldritch quirks which ones should I be avoiding

nervous
curious
kleptomaniac like you said
then there's just flat-out shitty ones like the ones that lower your damage/accuracy, generally if a character has a weakness (like leper's already low-accuracy) or a strength they rely on (like grave robber's high crit rate) then you should remove things that impact that negatively and enforce what they're good at, like slugger for Leper

Cure immediately
>Klepto
>Curious
>Compulsive
>Slow Reflexes
>Nocturnal
>Anemic
>Thin Blooded
>Light Sensitive
>Weak Grip on Life

He can also buff your entire team's accuracy, crit chance, and speed, while also buffing Finale damage.

yeah but if I take the time to try and set that up it's generally not worth it unless we're talking about a boss, I find it most effective to just set his finale up asap and then delete an enemy on the second turn, one less thing to worry about

Compulsive is also a bit of an ass quirk.

>character with quick reflexes, early riser, and on guard
>still goes second sometimes
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I agree, I'm just mentioning another utility the Jester has beyond finale and stress healing.

Just have the MaA yell at enemy if you really need your party to go first

I need one character to go before another one so my shuffles will work

fair enough

What are you trying to run?

writefag requests?

will basically write anything

Write your suicide note then hang yourself

I'm the musketeer and highwayman only player. I need the front highwayman to go first so both of them can point blank shot.

All of my runs were doing great, then one LEVEL ONE MEDIUM DUNGEON is like
>literally every curio is trapped and every one gave me a disease, bleed/blight, bad trait
>every trap I tried to disarm with 85% success chance failed
>most attacks missing or doing bare minimum damage
>had 75+ torch level but my team kept getting surprised by some fucking spiders
>Mark (which never works on my team when I use a tank) gets my marked teammate to get gangbanged two rounds in a row by all four mobs until she died when if I put Mark on a tank of mine they literally never attacked the marked target

I 100% believe that they coded this game to punish you the moment you start having a good run. That's shitty gameplay.

Bad RNG? That sucks, but creating a game in a way to purposely fuck you is retarded.

So you don't set riposte right away? Anyways, how about some trinket you can equip that will lower the speed on the guy in the second rank since I guess you want him to go second

you don't have to check curios mate, generally you shouldn't touch the ones that aren't just sacks/backpacks unless you have a really good reason OR you have the proper supply item to use on them
also the spiders are classic fuck faces, doing anything other than IMMEDIATELY killing them is a very bad move

It's been a while since I've played (pre CC). Should I pick up the DLC (Crimson Court and Shield Breaker) and start a new game or just start a new one without the DLC?

You answered the letter. Now you are a part of this.

The madman's journey to madness, perhaps involving one of those rare hellraiser looking trinkets.

Make sure it's really damning diatribe about me in your letter

>hold off on doing a boss quest until a good trinket pops 2-3 weeks
>get the bell buff event for that zone
>check the boss quest for that week
>Restraining Padlock quest reward
DespiteAllMyRageImStillJustNicholasCage.png

riposte sucks because you have to get hit for its value. point blank shot has a high chance of deleting whatever it hits, and with speed quirks and trinkets you can usually take out or cripple half of the enemy group even without surprise. also it doesn't have a cool bang sound effect and does bad damage when you have gunslinger's buckle equipped.
