So ghost of tsushima is comign out (this year?) and it sounds great, good concept that gets you hyped. Only problem is its a sucker punch game, they just did some infamous for tha last decade or so, and we all know how blunt and empty and plain and meaningless that series ihas become. So do you think SP will deliver on this new ip? do you think they will make the really deep game we all want? or do you fear its more of and hacky slashy kind of generic game we have been getting from this studio?

Will be Ubisoft tier schlock that's praised solely for console exclusivity a la Horizon Zero Dawn.
>Infamous 1 but you're a samurai
I'd buy it
> Americans making a weeb game.
It's going to suck.
It solely depends if they nail the combat.
People will like it but I won’t. The combat in infamous bores the shit out of me.
>thinks infamous games were bland
Maybe if you were bad at them.
>Westerners making any kind of game
Its going to suck
>and it sounds great, good concept that gets you hyped
there an awful trailer out only
Horizon is pretty good but not for the reasons normies think. In those regards it is indeed mediocre shit.
How do you be bad at infamous?
It’s probably using a flexible stealth combat that is all the rage nowadays.
Basically guerilla warfare.
no user, they were simply bland, with very repetitive gameplay and cities that felt really empty. It has nothing to do with my quality, dont go that way user.... Infamous has simply been a very empty and souless series, reskining itself every couple of years
I'm looking forward to it and a proper open world Samurai game was pretty much what I've been wanting the most, but I'm just bugged by one thing.
What is there of interest on Tsushima anyway? It's just some random island in the boonies of kyushu right?
you may not like the trailler, but that doesnt mean that concept of the game isnt good, and a open world samurai game in feudal japan sounds like a good concept to me
If it's an action adventure game with Ninja Gaiden combat and areas to explore like Zelda (Ocarina of Time/MM, not BotW) then I'm interested. But it's the Infamous guys so I doubt that
It's probably going to be Ubisoft open world stealth rehash shit.
Also between this and the shitty new Spiderman game I really don't like the direction Sucker Punch is going.
i think it depends on much more than that, it must have a great narrative, compeling and dynamic world, a good stealth system, and i think one of the most important aspects will be the pace of the game
i mean, can you imagine yourself slowly walking across japan flower fields with your samurai and horse, after a thrilling 1x1 battle?
Can you tell me what makes it good? I'm not shitposting, I'm trying to play through it and so far it's boring as shit. I just got to that tall city place where you can trade those stupid fucking collectables
If guerilla games can change their formula so can they
Only the first one was any decent, and only because of the story twist and the graphic novel styled cut scenes. It didn't excel in any other category.
no, it depends on much more, the combat alone doesnt make the game at all
>Video game made after 1997
It's going to suck.
>not 98
not him but the visuals and combat are really good.
also besides HURR STRONG WOMAN the story and lore are pretty good.
Besides the game isn't really all that big on SJW I AM WOMAN stuff, the Nora are ruled by women and they're a tribe of intolerant asshole savages, the capital is run by men and is a utopia of safety and trade and tolerance aside from the Hunter's Lodge.
>combat are really good.
Lmao.
I'm actually enjoying the story so far, and it does look good, but lmao the combat is really bad. Going from mhw beta to horizon is like getting punched in the nuts
you have to admit that sounds sexist
i guess this is the exact reason why we need video games that actually stand for femisism, or as you faggot say: hurr strong woman
More video games need sex-positive feminism, not the modern day EVERYTHING SHOULD BE WEARING BURKAS AND WOMEN NEED TO BE UGLY feminism
I’m going to sound like a ponce but there’s no other way to put it. The first 2/3rds of the game has very good ludonarrative cohesion. As in if there are 3 games in history where that phrase applies, Horizon is one of them. The link between gameplay and narrative is close as shit. It gives you a story that slowly contextualizes the world you are exploring and interacting with, it pulls you through the world while changing how you look at it. And it does this without putting you on rails to watch a slideshow like in most story-focused games.
The combat, the open word, the progression, etc is all very mediocre. The above point benefits from these things but it would have more-so had they been a little less bland and repetitive.
Not a argument
>contrarians trying to outdo each other in who is the bigger contrarian
Classic Sup Forums
Pretty clear you can't think for yourself.
That is not what "modern feminism" stands for, it never was, and nobody really said that anywhere. There was never such game or any piece of media like that for that matter.
I guess you just jumped to big uninformed conclusions
Test
no, the infamous games are great
No way this launches this year. Early 2019.
If it does launch 2018, its not THAT surprising considering Second Son was 2014.
I'd say incredibly unlikely since they announced it with no gameplay footage.
Straight up game announcements tend to not have much gameplay, and the trailer alone sold alot of people on the idea/game. I don't think its incredibly unlikely that a studio that has done nothing since early 2014 can't release their next game in 2018.
>we all know how blunt and empty and plain and meaningless that series ihas become
I don’t agree with the premise for your argument. All of the inFamous games were awesome.
Infamous 1 and 2 were pretty good, Second Son and the other one weren't so hot.
So I'd say we have a 50 of getting a good game out of this
A strong female character is one whose actual writing and arc are well written and competently conceived.
The issue is people misunderstand the 'strong' as meaning actually physically strong which is irrelevant.
Here's a good comparison: Bayonetta is a strong female character. Her core motivations are clear, her arc is compelling as she's an amnesiac actively pursuing clues to her identity and she is, in fact, active in pursuing her goals.
Here's an example of a bad female character that does strong things: nuLara Croft. She's primarily reactive to the things that happen around her, she lacks distinct goals of her own beyond survival and she doesn't really have a distinct arc where her character undergoes a change that is acknowledged in the story.
I thought it was okay. I bought the dlc and kind of regret it because once I beat the game I just lost all interest in it.
I thought enemies had way too much health, it was just kind of boring to have to hit them in their weak point so many fucking times.
Also I got stuck on the environment/dead enemies 3 times I think and had to kill myself/reload. It's also very easy to not notice a small ledge and get hit because you tried to roll and get stopped by it.

They've got the Sony resources to hire some of the best talent in the business. And Sony is usually hands off and doesn't rush games out of the door so

I only know it because it showed for the first time non white people beating white people at their own game. It was the end of European colonialism and white supremacy.
I'm literally, unironically hyped for Dusk, Kingdom Come, Among Evil, and Metro Exodus
I have no faith in SuckerPunch after what they did to Infamous.
The first one was okay but it was definitely not as good as 2 or Second Son. The optional Second Son arena DLC is better than Infamous 1.
2 is better in every way than 1 but has a shittier story. If you really like story over gameplay then 1 can be better. I remember trying to find all those shards in Infamous 1. Nope, not again please.
