you know I'm typically really cynical and negative about video games, but this is one instance where I honestly don't understand what everyone here seems to be hating so much. I mean it definitely looks better than the original. Is it worth the retail price? Probably not if you've already played on PS3/2. But there are millions of PS4 owners who never played SotC back in the day, it's the bestselling console of the generation after all, so I don't see it as a total waste of time / cashgrab.

The original style was more appealing, it added to the overall haunting feeling of the game. This just looks like they slapped uncharted over the models.

Even the way the shadows are animated in the first scene is worse.

It's why they decided the kid in The Last Guardian should have a completely different art style compared to the environments and creatures.

Judging from the collectors edition add-ons and early-adopter-only Life Sword, maybe this time the stuff unlocked from time trials will transfer to other difficulties?
I mean it would be so dumb to have all those pre-order bonuses be locked to Normal difficulty only.
The PS2 version and later on the PS3 version were like that. You unlock stuff on Time trial and its locked to the difficulty. You could only unlock explosive arrows on normal, and they can never be used on hard difficulty. One small change.

I've already watched a 2 hour stream of the game. It's buggy, the FPS on pro drops below 60 all the time, and the art style is fucked. It's a generic remake if ever there was one. $40 for it is a fucking joke.

Yeah. One of my top favorite games.

My only disappointment is that they still didn't add minor enemies between the colossi battles. The world otherwise feels so devoid. Though I do suppose that's the whole entire point.

Bought it on PS2 when it came out, beat it a couple times.

Bought it on PS3, beat it again. Did all the challenges.

Might buy it later on sale. Didn't care much for the PS2 version, but the atmosphere was nice.

It looks really fucking good, and having PS4 PRO enabling to play it in 60 fps is something I want to experience.

Not getting it on launch though, too much of a backlog.
