What are your thoughts on piracy?

I'm more comfortable doing it on consoles than PC. I've never known of anybody embedding a virus in a rom or iso that installs a rootkit, ransomeware, or a bitcoin miner on your PS2.

Well I mean it depends on the circumstances no? Say a game is not able to be purchased digitally then I guess its OK. There's a gray area with overpriced games though.

I don't believe in pirating new games. However the ability to rent and try games before purchase has essentially vanished, so I can understand that argument.
For older games I don't really care, the money that would have went to support the creators is long gone by then, and if companies don't make their older titles accessible, then why not pirate.

It's convenient and free and I like convenient free stuff.

>overpriced games
this i think can be moral. a lot of neat indie games are criminally overpriced.

I do it, everybody does it, though I don't like when people feel like they have to justify themselves about it, just admit you want the game to free.

I love free shit

>embedding a virus in a rom or iso that installs a rootkit, ransomeware, or a bitcoin miner
Sounds to me like you are an idiot, user.

I think more like Rule Of Rose or Haunting Grounds. No game is worth that price. This is why every game should also be available digitally.

sounds like you're setting yourself up to get fucked

I pirate because I can.

I drink stout and eat curry and hold in my bowel movements until I am in a meeting or a family gathering then let out rancid gas because I can, and even though I love doing that, it's less rewarding than getting free vidya.

...

This right here

i do it because i'm cheap yet want more games
the people that claim to do it as a statement are turbo autists though, but they'd be just as autistic if they got a cheap steam key just to shit on it in a review too. nothing to do with piracy itself

Pirating helped me when I was broke. I stopped when I had the income to buy games. This is how it should be for everyone.

This picture is 100% accurate. Fuck anyone that tries to keep justifying their actions, just do it and say "fuck it", jesus christ.

>>unlimited supply of a good
>> price should always be zero

I pirate because i refuse to pay for a good i can get for free, free market bitch.

Started buying vidya in the late eighties.

Stopped paying for vidya in the mid noughties.

Supported countless games with my wallet, had no effect on the market obviously, I'm just one man in a sea of millions.

Zero guilt for getting free vidya.

this

I used to, but with steam sales, it's just more convenient desu. I wipe my OS like 4 or 5 times a year so, steam just makes reinstalling that much easier.

FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME

MOTHERFUCKEEEERRRRRR!!!!!

No, you're just too stupid to manage your processes.
You're like an itoddler but worse

i don't do it but i don't care if people do

I do it and I care when people don't do it. Stop buying stupid shit, you're just encouraging them.

Piracy is the reason gaming is big today. You think Frank the Tank is gonna be playing games today when he couldn't afford shit when he was young? no, but because he could pirate he became a "gaymer". Once Tank the Frank became a man with a job, he started buying his games. His kids will one day continue the cycle.

Piracy has promoted media ever since piracy was codified, and before that proto-piracy promoted media. The major publishers will never admit it, but the history of media is built largely on citizens sharing and copying products.
