He deserved better.

Her Sly 2 voice was so foxy. Even as a kid I hated her voice in 3 and beyond.

I don't think he did a bad job, just that it was a really weird decision.

Still not sure if the choice was supposed to tie in with the plot.

The only weird part of the decision was to spend all that money on a better actor and then scrap a ton of his lines.

voice acting union rules make companies increase the pay to actors for each sequel they do using that actor. It's one of the reasons why some companies go non-union for their voice actors

Voice actors are not needed, they are just fluff. There's no reason why they should get paid as much as they do and they especially shouldn't strike to get paid even more.

They changed her voice in every game for whatever reason. She had an accent in the first game too.

I agree, she has a different voice in each game but 2's was the best. Coincidentally (or not), 2 is the only one where she has an American accent instead of a Spanish accent.
