ITT: Video games that changed you as a person

Watching the development process of this game and then seeing the final product turned me into a jaded fuck that won't trust a video game developer ever again. Ever since this game came out, I've been more cautious in my vidya purchases. I'll never get hyped for a video game again. I've learned.

This.

>it took you this long
You're a plague on this board if this didn't happen to you by the time spore came out. You're either a shiteater or underaged.

i wanted to get this
what's wrong with it?

>spore
>not Duke Nukem Forever

or maybe I never gave two fucks about Spore in the first place

Witcher 3 made me realize video games can be art.

WoW. Wasted so much of my god damned time on this piece of shit. Fucking game made me fully understand addiction. I feel like I missed out on so much other shit in my life as a result. I think I would be a better person had I managed to skip this game.

10 year development time
came out as a mess due to part of the story being gutted for a movie, party development gutted for an anime, has story DLC, and two fucking season passes

Anyone that couldn't tell from a mile off what a trainwreck FFXV was about to be is an idiot

I played and beat it and pretty much got exactly what I expected: a game that had a couple cool ideas and a fun beginning, but was overall a completely mediocre experience

Then again though the last mainline FF I truly liked was VI so my expectations were low to begin with

If it wasn't spore it would have been fable, if not fable, age of empires 3, even from bioware falling apart.
The fact that it took you this long is profoundly telling.

gross, thanks for the heads up

Ironically, the ending to the game and a lot of the dungeons in it were objectively well done. Too bad the game had to be an incomplete mess resold as DLC, and now a whole new game.

Is there a complete edition or something?

I was never interested in Fable games and Age of Empires is not my thing. The only Bioware game I've played in the latest Dragon Age and it suck ass so I guess I'm a shiteater

>Is there a complete edition or something?

There is a Royal Edition coming out soon.
It's the base game + Royal Edition patch + THE FIRST season pass (I stress first due to a 2nd one being announced)

People who bought this game in Early Access can upgrade to Royal Edition (minus DLC) for $20. Even if you have the Season Pass

>Even if you have the Season Pass

I forgot to finish this.
Even if you have the Season Pass you still have to shell out $20

they retracted the 20 dollar price. its now under discussion

Damn, maybe they're trying to recoup the massive amount of money that probrably went into making this

the fact we would have to shell out $20 is disgusting

I think that says more about you than him. Take a break dude.

>It's the base game + Royal Edition patch + THE FIRST season pass
I thought it didn't include the first season pass.

>objectively

If you upgrade from Base to Royal, no pass.

If you by Royal directly, you get the first pass

>got fucked because I bought the original edition
Thanks, past me.

It helped you grow a brain, congratulations.

>tfw you didn't fall for SE's drip marketing

I mean I liked it...

Yeah sounds about right, it was an open world that felt dead. The end game dungeon was petty good though.

What's the difference between base and royal?

Give it to me straight. As someone who loves FFXII and relatively enjoyed XII despite both games being black sheeps in the series, will I enjoy the PC release?

Bear in mind that I haven't paid any attention to the development process and the windows edition is the goty edition? I'm not even sure what the DLC even was.

You'll probably like it since you seem like a retarded faggot.

XV KUN ARISE! ARISE XV KUN! *muffled drum sounds*

I found it weirdly relaxing to go on a fantasy road trip with my gay friends. The combat system is pretty fun and I liked the environments. That said, the story is pretty weak and the characters are too simple to really find endearing or memorable beyond meme appeal. Overall I liked it but it's probably skip-able unless it's an aesthetic that just really appeals to you for whatever reason.

Sweet, good to know. I don't think there's anything else comming out in March so I'm looking forwards to playing the game you guys should of gotten on launch.

People have somewhat similar complaints towards FFXII's characters and story and yet It's one of my favorite final fantasies. Maybe I just have bad tastes but I hear good things about how the game is now compaired to how it was at launch. Doesn't it have multiplayer now or something?

Spore was the last time I paid full price for a new game.

I'm one of the guys who always argues with FF12 fanboys but at the same time I recognize it's not a terrible game.

XV is a terrible game, and I argue with XV fanboys too.

Now that this game is confirmed shit, how long before we get an old school turn based game?

hahaha

There will never be another turn based mainline FF game.

Wow, they're definitely no CD Projekt. I loved having my original copies of The Witcher turned into Enhanced/GotY Editions for free on Steam.

Never, turn based games are archaic and outdated and can't exist in the modern gaming world. Please ignore Persona 5.

It's called Octopath.

Hope you have a Switch.

>Please ignore Persona 5
This and dragon quest spit in the face of square enix hipsters.

I will never trust another gameplay trailer after Dark Souls 2. Never before has my dissapointment in a game been so sharp and constant.

>western shit

Fine, just give me World Of Final Fantasy 2 then.

Truth. For me it was Skyrim but still.

FFXV here too except
>made me realize how much like Prompto I am, and not in the good ways
hahahaha codependency sucks

There's a game the universe or whatever edition coming out with all the dlc and some new bosses and a boat and a dungeon. But there's another season pass coming out and like the other user said, the story was gutted for a movie and an anime. I still enjoyed the game a lot, but mostly because the main party member interactions are great. Side quests suck and a lot of the stuff from even 2013 when it first became 15 isn't in it. Better off waiting and getting it on pc because it's going to have mod support.

Every FF game since VII gets screwed by budget, producer meddling and creative conflicts with the Director.

It's basically 12 but with a car and non gambits and all real time. The story is bare bones, but you drive around a car on a huge map and do hunting quests for 50 hours and there's a 15 hour detour called the main quest line.

Basically they removed alot of the game's story to pad out an extended universe. Want to know why these idiots are even friends? Watch the anime. Want to know who the villain is? Watch the movie. Want the complete game? Buy the story DLC.

they scrapped the original(good) ideas for the game and started from scratch in 2014, thus leading to a really shitty and rushed game.
