I want to believe I'll live the NEETlyfe again before I'm dead. If I could find a decent tactics game on muh 3DS that I haven't played, I'd have something to play all day at work when there's nothing going on which does happen once in awhile.

I haven't seen another human being in over two weeks. All I do is stay home and work. I could maybe even find time for games in there, but since I'm so stressed all of the time, after playing for an hour or so, I feel like I have to get back to work or otherwise I'm gonna freak out. To top it off, every time I manage to fall asleep after struggling with horrible insomnia, I have nightmares that for some reason are always full of brutality and violence, even though I hardly think about that stuff at all. As a result I only wake up even more tired and stressed. I think that after a certain point you become so tired of living that not even an entire month off work can help.

One of the things I'm learning is musical theory for something fun on the side, plan to probably pick up the drums or the bass as well as dick around on a tracker/DAW once I'm more comfortable. And hopefully there's going to be some downtime coming up soon at work to finish some stuff up on muh 3DS, but we're in grind mode for at least another three months.

I ain't saying that socializing is not important, I think everyone should at least experience it to the fullest for a while. But I am gonna say that you shouldn't feel too bad about it since it's not all that's cracked up to be. I don't know what's more depressing, the fact that it will take you a long time to find someone that you share the same interests with, unless you got lucky, or the fact you will end up in a group that is great for everything social life but shares nothing with what you love to do.

if you're talking about srpgs it has none, fire emblem is shit, even the vita beats it in that category with d3+d4. if you just mean any kind of strategy game, pick up codename STEAM (and download the update) for $3 and have a blast. really oldschool, not a lot of bloat that creeps into modern shit like ever oasis.

Once you're older it's pretty much just acquaintances (at best) and your significant other, if you even have one.

By tactics I meant sRPGs, tactical strategy games, and everything else in the ballpark. I just want something like the original Front Mission, or ideally Jagged Alliance, to play all the time.

Awakening really was a disappointment and I haven't touched anything that's come after it. I'd have to find my PS3 in a box somewhere to reactive my PSN account for my Vita, since it's linked to that serial number and I can't do anything without muh saves and muh store games. But if I got around to it, I guess I'd have SRW V to play and X later on this year.

My hope is that I can one day attach to an established group later on after I sort my shit out, or something like that. Really not wild about all of the normies and other undesirables I work with.

Eh, I guess I can't really complain I am content with what I got right now. Decent group of people I know and plenty of time for video games. Then again I am used to living and doing things just by myself.

For most people when you are young you have time to try out new hobbies or interests with people who have the same idea as you do. When people get older they have finally settled into one or few things that interests them, or simply just settled into one because they don't have the time to be exploring for hobbies anymore.

Trust me, you WILL find people you can hang out with and do everything you want to do in a normal person's check list of activities. It's just that you won't find someone who shares the same interests as you do.

Is this that hard to understand? Modern gaming is a clusterfuck and is basically dead and it was the mid-90s style-over-substance BS Nintendo and Sony dragged into it that did it.

Finding the games from pre-1995 that you haven't played and would interest you is just as much of a shitshow.

I was really hoping for more out of the town building. It turning into just stacks of quests that needs to be fed with items to unlock subquests was really dull. There was no real customisation or building or sense of life or anything in it which is what I thought it was all going to be about. It was a real let down.

You have an infinitely better chance of finding a good game picked at random pre-1995 than you do post-1995.

You don't need to play old games you idiot, you just need to calm down and figure out what games you actually want to play, rather than what you THINK you want to play. For instance, I still, to this fucking day, think I want to play RPGs, both c and j variety. I don't. I want to play beat-em-ups, third person shooters, character action games, and fighting games. I may never stop thinking I want to play RPGs, but as long as my rational mind is around, I can remind myself "hey, remember what happened the LAST time you tried to play one of those?" and move on to the things I actually enjoy, the things that actually excite and entertain me.

Modern gaming didn't fail you, you're failing yourself every time you convince yourself that there's nothing new out there good enough for you.

I love the Etrian Odysey series. I fucking adore it. Beat 1, 2, U1, U2, 3, and 4.

I'm in stratum 2 of the fifth game and its just hard to motivate myself to go further. I wish I knew why, its a pretty good game.

That just mean that you liked playing that one game more than the others. I don't see no point in people forcing them selves to play a game that they don't want to.

Our studio has living quarters, all meals are catered, laundry service, gym etc plus I don't have a life outside of work. Once you eliminate commuting, mundane chores and a social life, 60-80 hours a week still leaves you with a bunch of free time.

I'm not saying anyone should follow my order but this is why I left my job of working in warehouses for 6-years while going to school. At some point I just caught my self staring at the menu of whatever console I have in my hand at the moment and thinking "damn, have I really gotten to the point where I can't even feel the mood for video games?"
I'm sure you are getting paid more than what I do right now but for me I just want something that can support me without taking up my whatever free time I got left, give me less stress, allows me to go to college without feeling like my brain is on deep fry, and still have time for vidya.

It was fun for a while. I could easily get back into it if I didn't have loads of other vidja to play. If anyone reading this is thinking about buying it, just go for it, chances are if you like the look of the trailer you'll get your moneys worth.
