Im watching a twitch stream about this and looks fun

im watching a twitch stream about this and looks fun

do you think this is going to be any good?

its empty but comfy

That's the purpose of streams, sell shitty games to insecure faggots.

Played with a full crew of friends. It was a blast honestly. One of the more fun times i've had with games recently at least. I was also a member of the insider access program

it'll be fun for the duration of the beta

Are you watching Peeve Peeverson? Cause that’s who I’m watching. Grimmmz is also playing as well.

i clicked on a stream of a fifty something from argentina, i watched it for 10 minutes and all i saw was him sailing in the ocean, digging a few holes in a beach looking for a chest while a skeleton sunk his ship from the top of a near mountain with a cannon.

Pretty comfy mechanics from what i saw

Looks fun, but, not beyond 30 minutes.

It doesn't seem there's anything to actually do, taking out enemy ships takes forever.

Not really a point to doing anything beside getting cosmetics, which nobody is going to see because you're halfway across the ocean from each other.

The problem I'm having with the game is replayability

Friendly reminder that a dev unable to show progress and/or avoids talking about gameplay loops is a big red flag

>No Mans Sky
>"so what do you do?"
>you explore da galaxy
>"and?"
>uuhhh l-look at these randomly generated worlds and mining rocks!

>Sea of Thieves
>"so what do you do?"
>you explore da sea
>"and?"
>uuuh dude your a pirate isn't that cool? l-look at all these e-celebs streaming our game

At best it's going to end up like Elite: Dangerous with even less stuff to do.

Friendly reminder that Blackwake is made by two people and has more solid core gameplay than a AAA vaporwave Microsoft studio.

As an alpha player I'm a bit worried, they literally added nothing to the beta that us Pioneer insiders haven't already been using for a week. Hell they even took out skulls lady.
I do have some hope though, they're going in a very 'everything can interact with one another' direction like with Metal Gear Solid.
For example; take the small ship, add the element of time, another small ship and a common destination: presto, boat racing

no lol

Is Sea of Thieves the one where they're selling a chunk of Assassin's Creed IV as a full retail game?

Friendly reminder that Blackwake devs actively shill on this website

Friendly reminder that since the game came out they've been shilling on this website

Friendly reminder to not play games shilled on this website regardless of anything else.

Nah that's Skull and Bones or some shit, this is the 1st person MMO wannabe

mad as fuck lmao

SoT has no content and your meme game will die even faster after release than blackwake

Fuck off shill. No one wants to play your shitty unity game with 100 players

>muh muh devs chilling :*(
Still better gameplay than SoT

Seems very similar to Blackwake which I already own.

>when two shills collide
I'm sorry but both games suck ass, you can stop shilling

Still a shitty unity game with no players

I'm not even shilling for SoT. Blackwake is just fucking trash and I'm tired of the shills for it

Should have had a single player campaign.

You can take the singelplayer boat, but how are you going to achive epicness with that?

>wooaaooah how can people start comparing the only two pirate MP games in existance, in my own shill thread noooooo this can't be happening

Fuck off shill no one wants to play your game. At least Microsoft isn't shilling their shitty game here like you retards.

i think it looks boring

no, they are just paying streamers millions so get their game attention with e-celebs and you are guillable enough to fall for a game with nothing to do after 10 hours.

>WAAAAHHHH MUH MICROSOFT IS BULLYING MY GAME BECAUSE THEY SPENT MONEY ON PR
no one cares shill, now stop shilling here.

alright, enjoy your dead thread :^)

Its core is very good from what I played which is a few hours, but unless the ship customization is substantial in a actual way like more cannons but slower ship, or another sail to go faster but its more work etc, the game will die out. They don't want you to get stronger weapons, fine. How about a sniper with a good scope? How about a Flintlock that does the same damage but maybe gets 2 shots per reload but the reload is 2.5 times as long.

Yeah the full game will have more mission variety, and send you out to islands much further from the outpost where you got the quest, but no progression OR consequences will kill the game.

Ship got blown the fuck up and sunk? Respawn, no cost, on a safe outpost some distance away. Die? Lose nothing, RESPAWN ON THE FUCKING SHIP MID BATTLE. No consequences for failure except for losing cannonballs, bananas and planks which are extremely easy to replenish if you take like 2 minutes out for a few trips back and forth.

More shit to pick up on islands would be nice too. I know in the full game you can cage animals for a faction, but gunpowder to replenish the ammo crate would be nice. Seems stupid that the ammo box is unlimited. I would also like to see sails destroyed, and cloth would be needed to fix it.

watched a streamer just as he was ganking up 4v1 on someone they don't even know until they get bored
that's not very comfy, and pretty sure they lost a preorder there

it'll be good, 25 dollars good

Considering the average life of a video game which isn't DOTA or PUBG I think it's fair to get as many as you can to buy into a few hour fun session and then never touch it again.

Video games are such novel experiences nowadays. It's just one game in the way of the next coming out around the corner.

Just like that casual fucking garbage dbfz, it will lack any depth after the first 10 minutes. Then everyone who enjoys games like mvci can laugh at you dumb fucking faggot. Hahahabababababa

That explains the fucking disgusting casual fucking filth nigger cuck cuck cuck cuck FUCKING SOY FUCKING NINTENDO FUCKING FUCK FUCK FUCK CJFKDKDKDKSKDJDJDJDJDHDHDHXJDJDJJDJD DBFZ I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE IT FUCK FUCK FUCK YOU YOUUUUUU

It looks like a Rare game

but not a rareware game

>Skeletons need to be able to swim and board ships
>atleast 1 more resource besides Cannonballs/Bananas/Planks
>Remove all those resources from outpost barrel, force you to buy them at outposts. Keep the barrels on islands
>PVP faction, like collecting spectral dust from dead players or something
>much bigger islands, right now its EXTREMELY rare to find other players on islands running around. I'd like to see islands big enough that you can't see the boats on the other side
>customizable sails, so you can have notoriety with recognizable sails
>nights should be darker, lanterns do fucking nothing except give your location away. Maybe they should require oil too
>a kick/push to counter people who hold block, less auto aim on the melee combat
>some EXTREMELY rare chests that you actually open to get loot, even if its cosmetics.
>neutral outposts, further from normal outposts, where you can't PVP by either not taking damage on the outpost or can't pull out weapons
I'd really like to see a community or player interaction, but the game doesn't allow for it. Can't really meet random people as a solo player, add them dynamically to your crew without logging off and inviting via Xbox, or trade with people. I'd like to see auction houses for some stuff, be it cosmetics from super rare chests or resources that are scarce but required for something like ship customization

hopefully we'll get all that, there's time for feedback, little mad i can't play it and try it out, and i'm not gonna do the work around for it, cause currently i'm only gonna have to pay 25 bucks for it, which is a steal

safe outposts aren't happening, Rare confirmed it in a podcast.
Rest assured though, I intend to spread a rumor that Galleon's Grave Outpost is unofficially agreed on by players as a 'no kill zone'

Which basically confirms if you want to meet other players you should just auto queue matchmaking and the game will not have any sense of community or interaction with non-crew members.

Looks shallow as hell, even the twitch streamers are questioning the games replayability

>Don't have an Xbone
>Never going to upgrade to Windows 10
Oh well

enjoy living in the past

It looks fun but not like something I'd buy.

>Elite: Dangerous
shut your face, that game is comfy af

k

>randomly generated characters
no thanks

H

Piss off Jack

as an alpha tester with 10+ months under his belt I can agree on most of these, particularly
>boarding skeletons, in particular I'd like to see a cursed chest (chest if bones?) that spawns them on your ship
>PvP faction, I want an incentive to hunt down pesky griefers
>bigger islands, feels too Wind Waker with the random masses of land viewable in the distance
>FUCKING YES ANOTHER MOVE FOR SWORD COMBAT, a kick would be perfect for guardbreaking, also I want a parry.

its a beta that's been in alpha until literally yesterday dingus, you'll get to customize your character in the full version, Rare specifically said so. Then you'll get to buy clothes and haircuts and shit.

>rare said so
>trusting british devs
no thanks

It was announced/started during the big craze of open world games where you can do anything! IE theres no point or goal. I would not be surprised if was essentially No Pirates Sky, but I hope it's not. Def waiting until after it's out before I even think of paying money for it.

Usually I'd agree with you but I distinctly identified several different styles of body, face and skin tone throughout my experiences in the alpha, enough to suggest that the characters were made in a creator, they just set it to random for the beta.
For example, first my guy looked like Farquad from Shrek, then next build he was a scarred Antonio Banderas, now he's Jackie Chan, but I can clearly see he's been using the same torso model.
Also, I can confirm tattoo cosmetics, Jackie Chan has San Andreas tier ink on his body model

No Man's Sky was actually not fun to play. Combat was non-existent, no MP, flying in space not fun. Both games will suffer from "well now what?".

Rust, Ark and shit like that have no point/goal but you have tons of resources to get, progression in equipment and weapons. They want a shared persistent world but don't want any progression to it

It needs a battle royale mode with like 20 crews and shrinking circle to draw large masses attention and not be a dead game in a current climate.

The sad part is, they could easily implement this by removing the whole 'spawn with guns' thing and making you find them on islands in chests.
It'd be interesting to see at least

>PVP faction, like collecting spectral dust from dead players or something
>PvP faction, I want an incentive to hunt down pesky griefers
Rare said it's not in the beta or alpha but there's going to be a bounty system in the main game where the traders will set you after other crews to take them out. And the more you do things like attack other boats and kill their crews, the higher your bounty gets. I can't remember the specific post but one of the designers said that they were going to look into what players do and might make certain things like killing other players at outposts or sinking their ship while its unmanned ramp up the bounty on you as they don't want to kill off legit ways to play the game like a pirate but they do want to have a consequence for it.

>"so what do you do?"
Nigger they made a whole video about it. You fight other pirates and skeletons, solve puzzles and find treasure. They specifically said Elite was one of their biggest influences on the design.

With custom sails, I think having an image of their sail when you accept the bounty would be really sick.
I wouldn't doubt this to be a future thing, but not at launch.

>They specifically said Elite was one of their biggest influences on the design.

Didn't know "wide as an ocean deep as a puddle" was a design goal to aspire towards.

just got my refund its boring GARBAGE fuck this game. fuck rare.

I watched summit play it earlier, he only put a few hours into it and has pretty much unlocked everything and completed the "Game".

I know its a beta, but it seems like the game is lacking content, more concerned that all the missing content is behind a paywall/lootboxes.

its pretty tho ill give it that

I don't think I could ever get tired of looking at the water, but the game itself needs work. The core is good though.
All the "missing" content is cosmetics, the game really lacks incentives besides looking nice. Even to look nice to other players, the mission designs aren't THAT fun to want me to grind gold. Sailing is neat but you angle your sails and go in a straight line alot of the time.

The rewards for the other factions better be more interesting. The absolute biggest worry factor right now is the ship customization. A little cosmetic stuff is okay, but there should be more to it. Cannon placement, maybe cannons on the second level but a slower ship as a result. Actual progression should be on the ship end

This shit costs 70 bucks what the fuck
