Has anyone played Ratchet & Clank here?
The first 4 games on PS2 are pretty good.
Any thoughts on them and/or on the newer games?

They lit af
I replayed the first 4 games a while ago and they still hold up.
Going Commando was my favorite as a kid but it actually ended up being my least favorite after revisiting it. The weapons scale horribly as the game progesses (with the exception of a few like the sheepinator and the bouncer) and a lot of the bosses are just boring to fight.
>Has anyone played R&C here
It saddens me that this is a necessary question on Sup Forums now.
R&C is prob my favorite series overall. I honestly loved every one of the main series games.
>Has anyone played Ratchet & Clank here?
No user, only you ever played it
finished the 2016 one this week in 2 or 3 sessions, the movie clearly was a detriment to the game, the characters all round were pretty crap, humor was ok (i laughed a few times) and the cutting was funky a LOT of the time.
that being said, the gameplay is fantastic, the card system works pretty well and so does the weapon leveling. it feels like a really condense RaC game and hits all the usual notes of ratchet games but without a lot of the in between stuff, this neither a good nor bad thing, it means the game has something new very frequently but also makes the game a lot shorter.
hope they do a whole rehaul of the story for the next one and i hope its on the same level of scope as RaC2, that was my favorite and if they try to remake it i hope they do it justice.
I never finished up your arsenal despite having hundreds of hours on it. the disc was fucked so I couldn't do the Quark minigame to unfuck CQ's condition without the game just freezing.
I liked 1, going commando, and deadlocked was kinda... eh, it just didn't feel right without clank carrying me.
Played all 4 originals on PS2. Fucking masterpieces. I love R&C2 the most just for that one level where you go around the desert planet collecting crystals. It felt so serene and badass simultaneously.
Had exactly the same issue. Fixed it by renting it from a local DVD renting store, playing that part and returning it. After that, no problems. Later I bought the inferior PS3 collection.

This, same. A few years ago you'd have been made fun off and called a casual for not playing them.
Yeah they are fantastic. And fuck every little faggot who thinks 1 aged.
2 > 1 >>> 3 > 4
All good though.
Crack in Time is best. You'd think the second trilogy would suck because it's another gen, but they're all great. Booty has tons of platforming.
Well, it's been how long since the first games or even Into The Nexus?
How young are you? The original R&C trilogy came out in the middle of the golden age. Wasn't that long ago.
Unless 16 years is a long time for you, which would mean you are underage.
Love them. It makes me sad that a lot of folks will shit on Tools/Crack/Nexus for seeminly no reason other than "hurr they're just shit" and "I didn't grow up with the future trilogy so they suck".

I dislike 1 for its bad checkpoints, no strafing and lacklusterness in comparison to GC and UYA.
3 is the best but the easiest.
>needing checkpoints
Fucking casual.
>no strafing
It's a platformer. The guns are gimmicks. GIMMICKS, you fuck. R&C1 is NOT a fucking third person shooter. Use, your fucking, wrench. It's your primary weapon. Run up to people and fucking hit them. I swear the upgrade systems of 2 and 3, while neat, completel deincentivized all wrench use in combat and turned the thing into a box breaker. And now all newfags think it's always been that.
No, wrench is your primary fucking weapon and you should be charging into most battles wacking people, then spinning around firing your guns as you close the distance to the next enemy to wack. You do not need a strafe button for this.
>lacklustre
Because your played it wrong. Fucking KYS.
>1 melee weapon
>19 guns
Really makes you thonk
Newer games are solid. Some times it felt like the devs we're a little stretched for ideas, and some of the charm of the early games is gone, but they're still worth your time.
>Ratchet and Clank
>The guns are gimmicks
Holy fuck I'm crying lads
Then put your dummie back in your mouth you literal infant.
It was a heavily marketed gimmick that your secondary weapon was a bunch of guns/gadgets that do all sorts of things.

hurf durf fehgitz git off mai vidyer
I kinda fell off the series after the PS2, never got a PSP and I only got a PS3 a couple years back. The bundle I bought off a friend did have a bunch of games in it though, including all the PS3 R&Cs. I played ToD until... halfway, maybe, before kinda losing interest. I disliked it for exactly the reasons I feared (too derivative of the old games/guns not exciting enough/story was lame compared to the more humour-centric PS2 games). I should get back to beating them all sometime, though. I still had a *somewhat* good time. I've also been avoiding the PS4 movie tie-in because it's a movie tie-in and cannot possibly hold a candle to the original.
PS2 games are still ace. Going Commando is my favourite. Multiplayer in both 3 and Gladiator is a grand old time.
Even as a kid I felt Ratchet and clank deadlocked was a step down from the other three games
Oh yes, that's right, another reason I didn't enjoy my time with ToD as much was the severe lack of Bergeaud
