Name at least 10 other games that do this.

pokemon gold
pokemon silver
pokemon crystal
7 more to go

Prototype 2

Donkey Kong Jr

>gets epic remixed version of main theme from first game

Pokemon Soul Silver
Pokemon Heart Gold
5 more to go

>MC becomes a party member in the sequel

I love the Disgaea games.

Pokemon Black 2
Pokemon White 2

Only 3 more to go

an amazing game as well

Ffx-2

If those count,
Pokemon Sun
Pokemon Moon
Pokemon Ultra Sun
there, 10 games

Digital Devil Saga

You can't face the protagonist of ORAS in those though

You can face the protagonist of Black/White in Black2/White2, little known fact.

>player character is the final boss
>
he gets no sympathy from the main character
Where's the proofs

Name ONE game that does this, and isn't Pokemon

>You can face the protagonist of Black/White in Black2/White2
No you can't, shut the fuck up

Fuck me, I’m a retard

Skyrim (Sheogorath)

>hero of one game is shown to have become a remorseless villain in another game that takes place years later
I love this shit.

I was gonna say an optional boss, but you weren't specific so I guess it fits

>he didn't link his B/W game with B2/W2
And you never will now the GL for it is ded

>one of your party members becomes the final boss
>he was your favorite one

Dark Souls, Technically

>tfw I did link them but never found this
You better post some fucking evidence right now

Fucking star ocean 4

Dark Souls III

>protagonists of the first game just settle down and are simply live happily ever after in the sequel
>bonus if the male and female leads ended up together

Pokemon Gold
Pokemon Silver
Pokemon Crystal
Pokemon Heart Gold
Pokemon Soul Silver
Pokemon Sun
Pokemon Moon
Pokemon Ultra Sun
Pokemon Ultra Moon
Armored Core For Answer

Bam

>MC becomes a boss in the same game

Source please, RIGHT NOW

>MC becomes the final boss

thanks Eternal Sonata

Anatolia's Mercenary...had a hard life.

Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Destiny 2 (technically Leon was promoted to a MC in the remake of the first game), Tales of Xillia 2

Raiden in MGR2

>boss becomes MC in the sequel

Diablo

Imperishable Night

I never actually got that, for being kidnapped and forced to travel together they sure didnt complain and had a hell of a fun time.

Metal Gear

Deus Ex Invisible War

Too bad the 2nd game was shit and Welkin and Alicia had 5 minutes of screentime at best

>fights as sole source of GDP for his people in an almost post-apocalyptic world
>work towards a brighter future
>betrayed by your strongest ally in his misguided attempt to right the world
>the fight to defend your home dooms it anyway
>start a new career towards a new brighter future with Best Operator
>take the name of your traitorous friend to protect his legacy
>finally takes the two best pilots in the world and a fucking AI to take you down. Still Smash 2/3.

You ain't kidding man.

Zone of the enders 2, it's a pretty cool fight

I didn't even realize who Red was as a kid

Ogre Battle 64 if you get the bad ending.

But you never fight him...unless I’m retarded

Diablo 2

Drakengard

Previous MC becoming just a boss is a weak reveal, becoming THE final boss is more impactful. That's why many just point Pokemon G/S and Diablo II.

Man Drakengard 2 is a big pile of shit.

>MC becomes shopkeeper in the sequel

Tales of Symphonia 2

Blue > Red

Give me back Jehuty!

Jedi Academy if you go dark side.

>sibling becomes the final boss

Not really, as an actual it's less shit than Drakengard 1, people just shun Drakengard 2 because it doesn't have their precious psychopaths and other degenerates as the main party.

Name 999+ games that do this

As a kid who only knew Medabots through the anime I never knew Henry was the first original protagonist in the first games, and the Ikki followed suit in the game's universe in taking his mantle as the shopkeeper.

They are only mentioned, but never seen let alone someone you can face.
They WERE planned to be opponents in the World Tournament and even had talking lines, but that was cut.
You can check it out on Bulbapedia or Cutting Room Floor.

tcrf.net/Pokémon_Black_2_and_White_2

>Unused dialogue exists for the protagonists of the previous games to use in the Pokémon World Tournament.
>Through a specific parameter in a PWT file, you can face the female protagonist, Hilda, as one of your opponents. She doesn't seem to have any Pokemon assigned to her, and the game does not load the unused dialogue strings as default text.

Drakengard 2 is just a big of a dumpster fire to play, but without any of the interesting writing, music or imagery to redeem it.

The first is art attached to a bad musou. The second is just generic JRPG style trash attached to an equally bad musou.

Kinda sucks Leo never gets it back during the game, only after it ends.

torchlight 2

>ds2 liandra
>ds3 soul of cinder
Wut

I wish I could play actual other Medabots games apart from the one that was localized, it was fucking rad

Prototype 2
2 more to go

>sibling boss never stops laughing

Neither did I.
I and my friends thought it was Ash.

If you linked the fire in previous Dark Souls games then Soul of Cinder applies, and even if you didn't link, someone else did, so he is always an example.

-You fight Vent/Aile from Megaman ZX in ZXA.
-Tales of Symphonia 2 has Lloyd as a boss
-You fight Megaman X (or at least a version of him) in Megaman Zero

As a kid I always wanted the final boss of Wario Land 1 to be Mario.

Also, just realized MGS3 is the inverse of this.

>Ware wa Messiah nari ahahaha !

Protoype

Nobody mentioned Devil May Cry 4?

What the fuck?

Oh yeah. That fight was a big let down though.

Lvl 80 Pikachu made us think that as well.

>You never get to fight the true villain at all in at any point in the series

>Tales of Symphonia

What

...

because they're unironically trying to save the world and felix is a great guy
once felix's party explains it to isaac's they join up

>MC becomes the final boss in new game plus

you fight previous Tales parties in the arena

HEY
..
..
..HERE COMES ALEX!

Prototype 2

Lloyd is final boss in 2

Dark Dawn was a mistake. Should have been adult Issac as the protagonist finally settling things with Alex. But instead we get his and Jenna's son along with the other children of the first game's cast. The worst part is Alex is still active and up to his usual shenanigans, yet the game focuses on some uninteresting plot instead completely ignoring Alex. What a shitty way for the franchise to die.

Without ever having played it everything I have read about the game sounds like they might have expected a TLA to DD.
A fucking shame though. I've read Golden Sun fanfiction that would make better sequels.

>Tales of Xilla 2
The best example.

was Gen 2 the kino ok pokemon?
>all pokemon have the same design/theme (new pokemon was just all the shit they couldn't fit into gen 1)
>16 badges
>hyped encounter with Red from Gen 1
>day/night Sun-Sat system with unique events
>god tier music

wow what a mysterious man i wonder what he's up to haha

Name ONE game that does this aside from Dragon's Dogma.

I loved this in the Suikoden games.

Why did they treat Alex's "reveal" as if it were a huge twist? And then you still couldn't fight him. This fucking game

>name one game that does that except the one game that does

So did only Isaac and Alex get the power of the Golden Sun? Or did Felix and Garrett get it too? I remember DD mentioning something about it but I forget, I only remember TLA's ending where The Wise One split the power that Alex got and gave some to Isaac.

Does OFF still hold up after all this time?

While not a NewGame+ Breath of Fire IV lets you become the main boss as you murder the rest of your party.

GF thought that GSC were going to be the last games in the series so the wanted to go out with a bang.
