there isnt vertical progression or chasing item level 999, basically if you start playing on launch and your friend start playing 3 months later he will be the same as you with the only difference that your quests would be better because you should have higher reputation with the faction npcs. But he still can play your quests.

It's the best kind of progression & the best kind of balance between players for the weapons etc..

AKA everyone will suck the games dick and it will make a million sales then die off in 5 weeks and people will refuse to say it was disappointing

There are no real ship upgrades you only get a some cosmetic changes.

only 2 sizes right now based on how many players you want, small for 1,2 and the big one for 4 (I think you can play with 3 ?). there will be customization like sails, flag, the paint in the hull, the figurehead, etc. In the game files there are some kraken related ship parts so maybe those are rewards for a kraken event or something

The sailing looks great. Everything else, utterly empty and lifeless. At the very fucking least, you should be able to board a ship, kill everyone on board, and claim it as your own.

Honestly, what I would have loved is a true pirate game. Instead of a magic inventory, your gold is actually stored on your fucking ship. If someone attacks you and steals it all, then you're fucked.

The lack of any major money based upgrades is neat. But what they should have done is let you customize the shit out of your ship with money, and then when it gets torched by pirates, you wind up in a crummy one again. Hell, maybe make the size of your gold haul directly reflect in your ships appearance, so other players know if you're a poor cunt, or if you're a big potential target.

This game just screams missed opportunities, which is a shame because a decent pirate game is what everybody has been waiting for for decades.

Probably the shop upstairs the order of souls tent is the potion shop considering the decorations, and there is a weapon shop building that probably will have an npc selling the blunderbuss, sniper and those meele weapons

You jump in alone or in with a crew and that is, we don't know how servers works. I tested staying in an outpost to see how many different people showed in 30 mins. 3 different ships arrived at the same port (not at the same time of course) in that time frame and comparing to the alpha I see ships more times now
