So i have been thinking about pic related and maybe won't just be that Shanghai is a bad girl already. Remember chaos unison? megaman.EXE avoids the bad effects of dark chips by using it in effect with a double soul, they never explain why but i guess the extra soul acts as spacegoat to stop megaman from being corrupted. Back to Shanghai, is mentioned that she is "way too heavy datawise for a SINGLE navi", touhou alice has two main dolls, shanghai and hourai, with this i can guess Shanghai.EXE is actually two navis in a permanent double soul status and that is why she avoids corruption.

You can't S-Rank single viruses

It requires an S rank, which is impossible because the virus only appears alone and has no counter window.
I lucked out and got one through Crimson Noise.

Never played BN?
Those doors are owned by this game's baddie organization, ROM. You need one of their IDs to open them. An ID which is not available yet.
This kind of thing was in almost every Battle Network game.

Haven't you beaten the demo? If so then just raise enemy levels and go to where the v1 sand worms appear in groups.

That menu is very buggy in general.
Maybe having so many viruses in one place wasn't such a good idea.

Is this Touhou? I feel like I'll miss out on a lot of references if I don't know about it, but I love Battle Network games.

C has some good stuff though, Hakkero 2 works with ice for x2 damage, same with Elec Chain 2 and Magnetic Storm. Earth Power is available for a screen clearing chip. You have access to Brave Sword, which is never bad. You also have Bio Spray 3, Murasa, Cold Air X, Charge Cannon X, Chain Gun X, Cirno X, and Dark Ray Gun. It would be an eclectic folder, but strong and versatile.

You don't need to be Touhou proficient to enjoy the game.
You'll just recognize all the grills and get a few references if you are.

It's Battle Network with a Touhou coat of paint. I don't know much about Touhou aside from hentai and the game played out just fine for me. Although it was kind of awkward at first because before this game the characters were nothing but fap material to me.

It is Touhou inspired and there are references to the series, but there's as much BN and Mega Man love as there is Touhou. For example some of the most powerful chips in the BN series are PAs: Plant Man returns as Plant Prison, Air Hockey returns as Shell Hockey, Flash Man appears as Flash Bang, Drill Man is there as Drill Break (which is elec now). And you can summon the six bosses of from BN. Only Duo is available, but Life Virus, Gospel, Alpha, Nebula Grey, and Falzar aren't available because their dark chips aren't in game yet. But their PAs are.

If it gives you any sort of idea, the translation team that's working on this game doesn't care about Touhou at all. They're only translating it because they think it's a really good MMBN fangame.

I wouldn't say we don't care about touhou, it's just not the reason we all came together to translate it.

Can you explain the rank system to me? If I get it right if I raise the rank by 1 every V1 version in the game will go V2 and every V2 to V3 etc, so if I raise the rank by 3 doesn't it essentially turn all enemies into their SP versions? Why can you raise the rank by 9 then?

At best you will miss some references and jokes. You may lose your mind thinking why the MC girl is blonde while her mom has white hair.

Some monsters have like 4-5 variants like the storm chip source with all the elemental versions.

Check the guide and calculate your busting rank. The system section.

Give me some suggestions about a good virus to catch that's strong against Iku, Pyro man, Beetle man and Yorihime. The P folder I've been trying out is really good against most of the bosses except those four (And Cirno but who cares about her) and I want a good virus to help me out.

True, but it's purpose is pretty busted - infinite Program Advances, basically able to reset your current hand, refreshes your folder including itself.
I mean theoretically, if you got Folderback in your first hand each time you used it, you could stall indefinitely until you got the set of chips you wanted, because it also works as a FullCust chip.
It might not sound broken with the way I phrase it, but in practice it's way too good especially considering that White version got the worse chip in the form of NaviRecycle.
