then get coding fucko

I'd prefer to post on Sup Forums and talk about how cool it could be.

It could be really cool, yeah, maybe they could have different environment types (Desert, Tundra, Swamp etc) for your creature to evolve and adapt to

It has to have realistic sex simulation

>There will never be another Creatures game
>You will never be able to gene splice Norn, Ettin, Grendel Hybrids again
>You will never get to selectively breed masochist norns that get off on beating the shit out of each other again
>You will never use the gene editor again to write a plague that causes norns lungs to only be able to process water causing an infectious migration forming a new aquatic subspecies of your population
>You will never create original creatures using the neural editor again and building a brain capable of learning speech neuron by fucking neuron
>There will never be a mad scientist life simulation game this good again.

>You will never giggle after teaching norns that "butts" is a greeting again.

mfw for reference

I played that game as a four year old and didn't know what the hell to do. Tried to hatch eggs but failed badly.

But we will someday get Grandroids! Have faith in the great mad scientist Steve Grand, you unbeliever!

what made them change the game so drastically?

Any other good evolution simulators?

Species ALRE is cool because the creatures actually evolve but it's not really a game.

Okay so let me fill you in. Basically after starting the game you trap most of the norns in the safe habitat with the cheese maker and let them kinda figure things out. They'll be warm, not hunted and probably not starve. Next you must select the most curious and energetic baby norn of the pack and use a toy such as the bouncy ball to lead him across the world to find the stone of knowledge. Force him one way or another to kiss the stone and obtain language, and then lead him back to the norn home bringing the stone. Now you can speed run getting a pretty educated population of adult norns that can follow instructions and generally communicate.

If any of them say "das foop" or some equivalent hit them a lot. None of that shit now.

So now your norns are useful and will generally do what you want as long as you reward positive behavior. This allows you to use them as bait to lure Ettins and Grendels about since they're not helpless enough to just die horribly to them. This means that you can happily lead Ettins, Grendels and Norns to the hidden gene splicer room. Here's where the trial and error comes in. You've gotta genesplice the fuck out of them until you create some awful Ettin/Grendel/Norn amalgamations.

Note. These will all die. And quickly.

The goal here is to pump them full of medicine and adrenaline to keep them alive just long enough to fuck each other. Generally they will be sterile and die, however with enough patience you will be able to get a child from one of them. This child will be vulnerable and have a shit immune system, but will be stable to live. Now you can begin the eugenics process and slowly strengthen your hybrid monsters. You have successfully created a brand new species in the game well done.

Why? Science I guess.

They really should have left water stage in.

Huh, that's pretty impressive, shame I was a dumb kid at the time because I would have been all over that as a teen

I want Spore but without any association with ((((EA)))).

will wright had envisioned it as a somewhat more realistic evolution sim that could even be used in schools. there was division among the team though about whether to go with that route, or to push it more towards sims but with aliens, which is eventually what won out.
it's probably worth noting that EA is unlikely to have ruined it seeing as it had like an 8 year development cycle, which is amazing for an EA game. if it were anyone other than will wright making it EA would have forced it out the door after a year.

Yeah, it's pretty damn neat for its time. Especially if you start digging under the hood.

Creatures Exodus is actually free now.

Antigen 7 is boneitis

We all do. But you're better off hoping for a different ip by a different company.

There’s this turn-based game on steam. I haven’t played it but the reviews are good

>burrowing animal with antlers
Yeah, I'm already questioning the accuracy of natural selection in this one.

>simulating something that never happened

Isn't that just a puzzle game?
