Where should it be set bros?
Where should it be set bros?
Vice City obviously
If they re-hash another city i'm going to fucking kill myself. 2 games in a row (like 6 if you count the handheld releases) in cities that have been around for over a decade is getting really tiresome
70s Chicago expy
Only if in the 80s, modern day Miami is just filled with Cubans and girls doing amateur porn
I'd say Vegas and San Fran, get both the cities they cut from SA in gta5
I don't even want to play it after gta 5
Retards
Would a GTA in a non-exisitng city work?
One that still looks realistic but is not actually based on anything in the real world.
Not Vice City. VC was good, but there's only so much you can do with that location. Maybe LC again, but hopefully someplace new
Vegas is not a bad idea. Or a fictional city.
It would likely just feel like Generic City, since they wouldn't have any history to reference.
Honestly London might be cool, if they didn't go full pussy and hide the islam stuff
I'm hoping for 1970s Las Venturas with a mafia focus
They would have to, if they wanted to sell the game. Besides, R* are lefties judging from the dialogue in the Doomsday Heist.
I'd like to see a prohibition era game desu
this tbqh senpai
Boston
alaska desu
True. I can't even look forward to RDR2 after what GTAV turned out to be and I %100ed RDR.
>modern day Miami is just filled with Cubans and girls doing amateur porn
Have you even played Vice City because that's exactly what happens in the game.
Or was this the joke?
Shanghai or Hong Kong, maybe Tokyo but I don't know anything about organized crime in Japan
Id love a GTA somewhere in South America or Asia, but Rockstar wont do it. Gotta make fun of fast food for the 100th time.
why aren't they doing this? sounds rad
I want a 60s-70s Blaxploitation GTA, where you can pimp women and sell drugs, doubt it would ever happen seeing as the industry is run by nu-male soyboys
Give it to me straight, families.
IS there any chance for GTA to ever leave the US?
literally Mafia 3
no
Dan Houser has said "GTA is America"
Modern Vice City, if we're being realistic.
In terms of what I'd prefer, then Texas. Make it an amalgamation of Houston, Dallas, Austin/SA, coastal shit like Corpus Christi/Galveston, desert shit like El Paso, and small podunk country towns. Hell, they could tie it into Red Dead lore and make it modern New Austin.
>79
It would have to be a time and place where people and organizations were regularly commiting crimes and killing each other, keeping with all the other games.
>late 80s Miami
>early 90s Los Angeles
>Y2K era New York City
>there are still people who think the next GTA will have a setting outside the US
literally VC/S, SA and III/LCS
Carcer City.
CHIRAQ 2049
my nigger
Eastern europe. But it won't happen, I'm 75% sure it's going to be Vice City and 25% - a new city.
eurojank stalker-esque GTA clone when?
Lol there is always crime everywhere. There hasn't been a game set in the 1970's yet, and I think that is an area where there would be a ton of material.
>1970's Vegas on one half of the map, the other half Kansas City
>Blacks, Mafia and Mexicans all in one clusterfuck of a game.
They already did period pieces with the gen 6 games (well, GTA3 was modern day for it's time). All the games since have been modern day. No real reason why they'd make GTA6 a period piece again.
I want Honolulu desu
just cause?
When is mafia 3 set?
Also without all the "white people are evil" bullshit
68 "New Bordeaux" (basically New Orleans)
68
Literally missing the entire point of the franchise
It's actually quite ironic how Americans don't realise GTA is just a bunch of Scottish dudes taking the piss out of how ridiculous the USA is
rad
I kind of want a full GTA game in San Fierro and bay area set in late 60s
Who wants modern Miami? Carcer city would be sweet.
>Minus the cartels and shootouts
Miami drug gang isnt sexy anymore. Also 18 year olds with daddy issues, porn stars moved to san fernando
Carcer City is Detroit, right? I wouldn't mind
>Miami drug gang isnt sexy anymore.
Who gives a shit. This is a video game with a fictional story.
For fuck's sake, the latest GTAO DLC had you saving the world from Elon Musk.
2d gta also had sa, vc and lc
Set in the trash
I think so, either that or Chicago.
Completely off topic but wow did tony hawks underground capture this city.
What would the story be like ideally?
Las Vegas imo
Can you imagine how crazy insane fun it would be to drive a tank in the game and have fighter jets going all over the place?
it's Jersey
small town crook becomes king of the hill
Isn't Vegas pretty much just The Strip and endless sea of boring, identical accommodations?
Texas ->
Mexico ->
Bogota
All set in a 70s Burt Reynolds style atmosphere.
I'd love a GTA set in the 90's.
Not gonna happen. Rockstar's not gonna risk shitkids spamming jewtube with videos of them beating Paddock's record.
Kount's Kustoms and Gold & Silver Pawn Shop nods would be kino
>Rockstar's not gonna risk shitkids spamming jewtube with videos of them beating Paddock's record
That's what 90% of the playerbase was doing since the beginning of series and R* is well aware of that, don't be ridiculous
...
Vice City
Las Venturas
Carcer City
Seattle
Kansas
Coruscant
Tatooine
Nar Shadaa
Essos
Westeros
Early instalment weirdness
GTA 2 was set in cyberpunk future with a TV host like announcer commenting your actions and bonus levels in which you were destroying ice cream vans with vehicle mounted machine guns because reasons and somehow no one expects them to do something like that ever again.
Which is honestly a damn shame
do we all agree that TLaD had the worst campaign?
GTA 2 is unironically my second favourite one. Shame many people overlook it because it's top down 2.5D
I'd say naples but then you'll have like 150 cousins to save from the mafia insted of just roman
1970s San Francisco/Sacramento area
Fucking Zodiac killer
East-side rapist
Can establish Dirty Harry levels of Kino
"It ain't me" on the radio, whole fucking protest song station
It's the obvious pick.
Driver: Parallel Lines
remember the game has to sell worldwide so they'll make a famous city not your shitty village in the midwest
>American South
>not famous
t.yuroslav
I know right
I'm actually just replaying it right now, struggling with the fucking prison mission, always hated that one. Kiddos whining about muh RC chopper/plane or muh damn train should try completing fucking GTA 1 and 2 one day. Those were actually hard games later on, 3D GTAs are piss easy unless you're a kid, not that I don't like them.
I would love R* to make a cyberpunk GTA with modern technology and go full crazy again. Running crowds of people over while blasting Christian rock through the radio, kidnapping them in a bus and turning them into hot dogs, GTA 2 was just fucking psychotic at times and I love it. Shame it's never going to happen again.
And before anyone suggests it, no, Saints Row is not the same thing. I like it as well, but the tone is completely different.
bait
Never heard of it
God no.
Vegas has Golf Course suburbia (All of south-west and Summerlin), south central (North Las Vegas), decrepit 1950's cityscape (Downtown), luxury high-rises (the Strip), 1960's suburbia (Green Valley) and Henderson which at one point was the murder capitol of the United States for reasons nobody can explain, plus it also has a military base and massive amounts of desert, mountains and a large river within driving distance.
>Visit Hawaii a few years ago
>"Wow this place really reminds me of a game I played or a movie or something"
>See people skateboarding at the local park
>"I just can't seem to place it, maybe it's just the culmination of various depictions of Hawaii in the media"
>Helicopter glides overhead and stops to hover between two buildings while skateboarders cheer from a nearby rooftop
>"Maybe it was from an anime I watched years ago..."
>Eyes scanning over a local market selling produce, a large, barrel chested man with tan skin drops a Pineapple from the stacked pile he was carrying in his arms
>Pineapple falls to the concrete, exploding messily over the sidewalk
>Barrel-chested man explodes with cheery laughter
>"PINEAPPLES EXPLODE REAL NICE!"
>mfw
LONDON
Getaway series
This so much. Also the dying hippy culture with only sad, wasted addicts left around. San Fran is a great and really underused setting and this is the time before it was ruined by modern times. Add chinese immigrants and shit and it's really a perfect setting for a GTA game.
Baltimore
Chicago
Boston
New Orleans
GTA Corusant
GTA Tatooine
GTA Westeros
GTA Essos
GTA Braavos
Easily GOTY
the perception of southern united states is cowboys, rednecks, racists, wooden houses full of guns
people may know atlanta or dallas but they couldn't really tell any city landmark
sounds kino, but rdr2 is around the corner anyways
>getaway series
but we're talking about GTA and where it should be set next? are you retarded ?
They need to make something fresh that hasn't been done before.
They need to do something like Lagos, Cape Town, Kingston (Jamaica), Sydney, Singapore, Taipei, or Moscow.
Tired of New York and LA, both cities are shit.
I'd accept one more vice city, because it was my favorite anyway. But then they should try to make some new loactions. Do London in the 60s or 70s again but make it a fictional location. There's one last rehash. Then get to thinking.
Just putting alternatives out there. GTA clones are interesting
pre-war would be kino, but it will never happen
gta Israel :^)
Not going to happen because there just isn't enough of worldwide recognised stereotypes and culture associated with any of those towns they cold make widely understandable references to. Maaaybe Moscow. Pretty much their only bets except of LA and NY are San Francisco and Las Vegas, maybe New Orleans. Either that or one of European capitals, but I imagine they would prefer to avoid that.
GTA Pakistan
they did London already
Already done. How about Newcastle? Would be an interesting change of dynamic and not many games are set in the north
would be fun to drive in a southern european city, considering also the pedestrian-only areas
>already done
well atleast keep it somewhere in bongistan and in the 60s-70s. GTA northern ireland would be perfect but never happen
it would be a good setting that one mcreary guy in gta 4 was also connected to the ira
>no recognizable landmarks
Um....
I meant city landmarks
a rural gta would be trash
Cheyenne, WY
