Is that you grandpa?

To be quite honest, any. I suck at strategic shooters.

who chavez here

Literally everybody

Forget what its called, perfect storm? Silent thunder? You know the one... the on in the city ruins with the rain.

It's easy to just blow through with heavy armored recruits but fucking impossible to get through with no loses

They're all pretty fucking ez. Solo Ding all the time

Why did Ubisoft betray us?

Not installing Raven Shield instead is hard.

Operation Chimera

The average user would have played this game as a child

While mechanically superior, Rogue spear is still a very fun experience. Take it from someone who got into it only recently and enjoyed it immensely.

That said there is a suprising amount of missions where you just go balls to the wall rooty tooty.

>replayed Raven Shield a few months ago
>using the recommended teams and mission plan
>I would be off following my waypoints and suddenly hear a whole team die
>eventually find their bodies and see that one fucking terrorist killed them all

This shit happened multiple times. Was I doing something horribly wrong or is the AI actually just retarded?

Default plans are shit. AI is also not the best. Coordinate multiple point breaches/clearing for every room you can to minimize risks.

How do I into this genre of tactical FPS? What games are good entry points?

I tried to replay the older ones but I got some weird bug where the guise and life-story of ding chavez was fried into my screen for quite a while for some unknown reason, i thought it damaged my monitor or some.

I never made it past the second level when I was younger.

Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. Its hardcore yet has 1080p support and doesn't look like ass even today.

After that move to SWAT4 and see if you like it. A lot of people do, especially Sup Forums, but personally I found it boring as fuck. Then if you can get over a visual step back I heavily suggest the original Ghost Recon game, it has some of the best enemy AI but its a different game - Rainbow Six is mostly CQB whereas GR1 is mostly open as fuck environments.

After that you can move back to original Rainbow Six 1 and R6 Rogue Spear, and SWAT3.

Small advice regarding all Rainbow Six games - you can mostly play them all with a single operator and treat it like any other game. But once you really get into the planning mode and utilize multiple teams its sooo much more rewarding and more fun. Don't forget to give it a try.

I only remember the embassy (?) mission

Is it possible to run coop on r6 raven shield through vpn?

SWAT 3 and Ghost Recon 1 if you want to make decisions on the fly, Raven Shield if you think you can handle pre-mission planning.

what's the one with the best ally ai?
I remember failing missions in rainbow six 3 because retarded af team

SWAT 4 is boring imo try 3 instead feels much smoother.

Yes but you will need to use different cd keys. If you play with more people sometimes it will glitch out and give "cd keys in use" error despite everyone having a different key.

Alternatively, actual online servers went to shit about a year ago and there is a nice workaround so you dont have to nigger-rig VPNs.

It could be the difficulty setting. If you play Raven Shield on the highest difficulty some of the enemy reaction times are pretty intense. I remember playing online with some very skilled friends and we would retry missions for 30 or 40 times in a row. Its really not worth the effort and its fairly unbalanced, as in guys will headshot snipe you from 100 meters away with a fucking pistol before you can even see them. Play on the medium difficulty, it should fix everything. And yes friendly AI is a bit clunky but what can you do.

Unrelated to your question I heavily recommend Hidden and Dangerous 2 for people ITT. Its put on GOG somewhat recently.
