ITT: "What the fuck happened?"

Windows 10 exculsive first, steam release came to late and market was saturated as fuck.

A mixture of Microsoft and Perfect World Entrtainment. With added over-saturation of that genre. Sucks, desu, the game was good.

pretty much this, also the game had little to no advertising.
Such a shame too, the game is fun as hell

Waited forever for it and it turned out to be shit

Shit art design. Too colorful.

Character designs are awful
The Character's personalities are boring or pretty much nonexistent
i just remember the game being very boring all around, got maybe 4 hours out of it

is this why the pixar movie was canned?

A shame, it's actually quite enjoyable. What personally put me off was lack of maps,
they should've focused on that. Existing maps are good, but they get a bit stale.

No marketing, a dumb ran requirement which alienated the type of toaster owning BRs, flubbed out of the gate with Windows 10 exclusivity.

Shame because it was the only good hero shooter and the best modern multiplayer game I've played since Splatoon 1.

People on Sup Forums will try to pretend it was because of something in the game and not the business surrounding the game, though.

It's a shame because it's a good game.

Toaster owning BRs who are the base of F2P games*

...

Game was good, just needed minor tweaking.
Windows 10 only for too long and the devs all losing their jobs killed it before its time. RIP gigantic.

fucking damn it, I actually liked this game
the little time it had a /vg/ thread was good, it was like the only good general there
I still got my shitposting folder from there

>Everyone calls the game good
>No one plays it
BUT ITS GOOD THE MARKETING WAS JUST BAD DURR

Despite being the first of the shooter-derived MOBA-derivatives announced, it was announced as a windows 10 exclusive so everyone stopped caring about it upon announcement. By the time it left windows 10 it was too late and the market for hero shooters was oversaturated.

...

Is this really that bad?

Not an argument. Just because there's no general up so you can shitpost while drawing stupid fan art oc memes doesn't make the game good retard

>Not an argument
By all means start us off user.

I did try it when it came out of Windows 10. The characters weren't that engaging. The game was stingy. The cosmetics were meh, and more fundamentally, the general game feel was strange and sloggish.

You first. You're calling the game good despite no one playing it and there never being any threads past the first month of release on steam fucknugget

Game is fun but /gigg/ were insufferable.

Poorly balanced mess. Heroes did end up being tiered in many ways.
Graphics are nice, but bleed together in the most generic way. Color palette do dampen the downsides of that.
Matches drags on way too long, and its possible for some asshole to pick a poorly designed hero with a unique playstyle, and its not possible to recover from that.

But being good is never a criteria for success, merely a amplifier for it.
Meele Dota/Smite isn't a unique enough quirk to drown out all the flaws it had, or lack of fun.

A lot of games fall victim to the lack of marketing or lack of the ability to be a "watchable" Twitch game, which in itself is free marketing, etc. There are good games out there that run on life support because they're actually good/fun and manage to get at least a few hundred people to spend money on it monthly.

But lack of marketing really can hurt a game's chances. Barely anyone knew it existed, and even fewer knew about it being released on Steam. There were also some bizarre RAM requirements.

Marketing is also how you make a success out of mediocrity.

It's out?

It's been out.
It's gone already.

And it's more alive than Battleborn and Lawbreakers.

I just want this outfit so fucking bad but it cost so much fucking crowns, and shit to trade for it. Anyone got a spare?
