Tfw finally get through my entire backlog of games

>tfw finally get through my entire backlog of games
Now I can go back to replaying the same three 20-year-old games in peace.

How did you do it, user? I feel like my backlog would take man-years to finish, and more gets added on every day.

what 20 year old games?

>stopped buying games completely except for a few must-buys
>don't ever have more than three or four games installed at once
>most important: it's OKAY to drop a game
If you're not grabbed by a title, for whatever reason, just drop it. You wouldn't force yourself to eat something you didn't find tasty, especially when surrounded by better food. That being said, there were some games I forced myself to play because of friendly recommendations or "game history." For those, alcohol and "Easy Mode" help with getting through them.

Oh, and this was something that bugged me for years before I finally kicked the habit, but...
>DON'T be a completionist

You must not have had a big backlog.

Is it still possible when you have a backlog of literally hundreds of games?

More like 15-ish, but...
>FFX
>MHFU
>ToE

Woah dude, that thing calculates how much life time left you have to play vidya based on how much you've played?

That's some scary stuff.

Damn, maybe its because i always default to hard mode, but ive had some mediocre games on my list for years. I may just take your advice and finish off the Xbox360 once and for all.

Be liberal with your "Dropped" games.

I only got 84, so maybe I don't know the struggle. This doesn't count console games, but I've gotten rid of most of them.

No wait I'm stupid, is how long it would take you to complete the games, being a non-native speaker is fun sometimes.

>I only got 84
Yeah I have 135 games and about a dozrn or two are 100 hour long games.

Hard mode is rarely ever balanced well unless the game is built around it, like DMC. I learned enough lessons about bullet sponge mobs.

Oh, categorizing games so your Steam doesn't open into a seemingly endless list will also make it all less daunting.

Yeah, I avoid RPGs like the plague now unless I know I'll enjoy them, and I'm experienced enough to be able to tell at first glance if I'll enjoy a game.

I like RPGs, but I'll only give them 2-3 hours maximum, because you generally see the full breadth of the systems in that time.

And by that I mean I'll decide whether to finish or drop them within 2-3 hours. No point in wasting literal days of time on a mediocre experience.

What a bullshit statement. LOT OF hit me like a ton of bricks and it was my third choice at what was available at the rental store.

There are gems hiding in plain sight, dont give me your Oracle vision bullshit

I look forward to the day five or so years from now when I finish my backlog and can just replay MGS games repeatedly.

What? I know what I like, and I know what I don't. Do I still take chances on games? Sure. I was pleasantly surprised by AHiT recently despite be adverse to platformers.

>finishing your backlog just so you can go back to living in nostalgia without feeling guilty
Why is it so hard, bros?

You have to make the journey to Mordor before you can return to peace in the Shire.

I made myself stop buying games now except for the occasional really good humble bundle. I haven't touched a steam sale in years.

And yet I have made no progress on my backlog, I keep playing the same favourites over and over. Argh

What should I start with? I've played most of these some time or another, but never beaten them. Some of these I want to do more for example Xcom, I haven't touched the dlc, or hollow knight, which I want to 100%.

>mfw I have made no progress on my backlog it has just grown for the last year because of an mmo addiction

Also some of these are there because I put them there by accident like I am bread or one more dungeon.

Mount & Blade

Should I play the first one or warband first? I have the first on GoG

>mfw my backlong just keeps getting bigger and bigger
For every game i finish theres no new that pick my interest. Someone make it stop

warband is basically the first + more content

play it right now

It's a struggle. Sometimes you find a game that really hooks you for a month, and when it gets time to moving on, all you can think of is going back and replaying that game you enjoyed.

World is out tomorrow user

Gotta wait for PC release, brudda.

Someone posted this Win 3.1 game archive and I had to delete the tab or my backlog would grow even bigger

Topics like this sometimes make me glad to be a poorfag, although a hefty chunk of my steam library is from free shit, I also don't have more than 60 games.

rip my life

Pick 3 of distinctly different genres and cycle through them when you get bored of one.
