>play JRPG
>the church ISN'T evil
>the final boss ISN'T God
>the Empire ISN'T evil
>your best friend DOESN'T betray you
>the protagonist IS an adult
>the protagonist DOESN'T use a sword
>the game DOESN'T open with you waking up
Play JRPG
what game
Xenoblade 2 is 4/7
Trails in the Sky the 3rd?
and trails to zero/azure
name one game that does this
Etrian Odyssey Untold
>the protagonist doesn't use a sword
Adding that's cheating, makes it too easy to DQ games. That's like saying the protagonist eats food.
Romancing SaGa 2.
>Kevin will never be a main character in any Kiseki games ever again
>he will never have a final S-Craft where he shoots the same giant laser beam he uses in Ao
>main character remembers everything from their childhood
I'm thinking of writing a novel that's basically a JRPG with the bad guys as the protagonist.
The main character is a loyal servant of the empire trying to awaken an ancient doomsday weapon so the empire can conquer the world. The antagonists are a bunch of teenagers who survived the destruction of their village and try and win with the power of friendship.
Would people be okay reading something like that or would having the bad guy be the protagonist be too much of a turn off?
Xenoblade Chronicles X is 6/7 if you don't go for a sword build, it starts with you waking from stasis but that's it
I wanna read it, what's the name so I can find it ever again
The real problem would be that you're most likely a shit writer.
Depends if the story is good. They kind of did that in World of FF except the bad guys are asshole teenage kids who summon an ancient evil and the story is a redemption arc
>Main character knows who both of his parents are, has a good relationship with them and they ARE his real parents
>Neither of them die over the course of the game
Earthbound
>parents are recruitable party members
>Ness
>Adult
I know probably 250 or so people personally. None of them use swords.
That's just a jap thing.
>MC's mom is best girl
Mother 3 then, since Clint is the protag for arguably longer than Lucas is.
>everyone complains about story mode being generic and tacked on
>it subverts every common jrpg trope
>best friend doesn't betray you
:^)
>Clint is the protag for arguably longer than Lucas is.
