Monster Hunter game without Monster Hunter name = bankruptcy

Individuals don't evolve, populations do.

Really bad press

>full price for what should be F2P considering their outrageous DLC model
>monster mode is both too easy and not fun
>hunter mode is only fun if your team is good but not too good

played the beta for two days, instantly knew the game would fail

Not enough variety. Price was too high to include pay-to-win micros on top. The new monsters were garbage.

It was a goodish idea and the beta was great, but they drove that shit into the ground.

I liked the game before 2.0 or whatever ruined the gameplay

>monster mode is both too easy and not fun
>hunter mode is only fun if your team is good but not too good

You should try playing it now. Trying to find a competent human team is basically impossible, assuming you're able to even get a full team together at all. Monsters all have like 15 game win streaks because theres just no competition at all.

It needed a 4v4 versus and not focus on the 1v4 meme since the balance was terrible for both good and bad players so it was not just the DLC

t.Evovle player who liked it

Oh and Free2play took everything the original game had that made the fans who stuck with it like and threw it out the fucking window.

Also unlike Battleborn or Lawbreakers it had good character design and DEEPEST lore that was intresting but multiplayer only so you couldn't expand on it

Opposite Monster could stomp shitters all day but good hunters versus good monsters and hunters will win everytime

'Saris.

What was so bad about F2P that the few people who stuck with the game hated it?

Evolve had some seriously fantastic lore.
It's a bloody shame it died, I bet the guy who wrote it poured so much love and attention in to it, and was prepared to go so far with it.

>Parnell was a weeaboo
>Hyde was bros with Lazarus since they fought in the same war
>Hydes also insane since he probably got revived too much

downgrades and listened to the faggots who complained about "running simulator"

"So how'd you get a pet trapjaw?"

The lore was god awful.

>Pushing forward: the game.

The reason chases are exciting is the ever-present chance you'll catch them. Evolve is a chasing game where you rarely see who you're chasing or where they're going. It's boring.

Fucking the over the players who stuck with the game and listening the masses who complained but still didnt come back

Really bad design.
It was mechanically overloaded with limited opportunity to learn and exercise those mechanics.

you cherry picked a random conversation

It had one of the MOST disliked 110% sheckelberged day 0 DLC reputations at the time when everyone was fuming about game prices. It is rather shallow for a full priced game. Monster absolutely fucking rekt everything and everyone if they were even remotely competent.

it was too easy

its was too easy, even for plebs*

>Slim and Abe usually are standoffish and wary of each other
>there's one dropship convo where they quote movie lines and become bros

Didn't play legacy but the reason 2.0 failed is lack of marketing and monetization by 2K, the game was amazing but poorly executed.

You get bored of it in like 10 hours

I think the game would had worked better if the "human" players were also enemies but had to work together against the monster, so you wouldnt know who would turn on you first

shit tier gamedesign, how this was made by the same people that developed left4dead is beyond me

incompetence, parity patching, and 2K ensuring its demise with its marketing.

or just added a versus mode and the monsters would be "Tanks" the game had other hostile AI wildlife

But L4D was shit

You're wrong.

Are you just gonna take ?
Defend your position, faggot

If you dont know what went wrong with this game you are a dumb cunt

1v4 was a meme

shill hard fail harder

The microtransactions + the fact that there wasn't that much content at launch so the game got really repetitive and old very quick + 60 dollars

When the game came back there was an Evolve General for a little bit. There was a screen cap of a person on reddit who bought thirty copies of the game to give it to random people

>THIRTY COPIES

WHAT

>/evog/
Good times

This I need to see

Post it

Literally everything.

MTXs and no gameplay depth

Running in circles around a map turned out not to be much fun.
They should have made it more like L4D, where the team fights a bunch of small monsters across the map to reach a certain goal and a big tank monster appears every so often.

>we can do it guys, we can survive without Valv-
>goes FTP in a year because there's no playerbase

It rode off of the coat tails of games like natural selection but it had nowhere near as great of gameplay. People played it for a day and then got bored of it.

Needed a story mode.

I loved this game.
Mained the hell out of Bucket.
Never really understood what people expected or why they were disappointed.
4v1 track and fight a monster, just as advertised.
I also noticed a lot of Overwatch healers have almost identical healing mechanics to Evolve healers.
spooky...

Unbalanced and wasn't muh call of duty pew pew

>tfw beating a 37 win streak kraken with randoms after several really close calls
Game had a retarded amount of retardedly expensive DLC at a time where people were out for blood at the mention of these letters. Additionally, it was way, WAY too niche for how big it was to stay afloat considering who the average customer was going to be.

Shame, because you could do really tight stuff with it as either side, and I really liked the lore.

>tfw there will never be a well-made game where you can play as a monster and beat small humans(or vice versa) online with a large playerbase
i just wanna smash bros

The game was too punishing for players. The average player was incapable of finding the monster, not to mention not get ambushed. They didn't like getting shit on by a stage three monster after failing to find them for ten minutes. On the other side, the combat could snowball very rapidly off mistakes. Essentially, a single bad positioning on either the monster's or the hunters' part could result in bagging the game almost on the spot. Evolve in a bad spot without having shaken off the hunters? Here's half your health gone and the dome coming down. Use up your fuel at the wrong time? The monster can chain his ability on you while you're vulnerable and kill you through healing burst+shield if he can aim. Can't shake off val+crow/abe? Enjoy never evolving.

A bad monster is gg.
A bad [hunter role] is gg.
A bad composition (eg hyde into kraken) is gg unless he's retarded and goes in a cave or something.

This game was fucking boring. I was so excited to play it when it came back because I like the idea of it and people had hyped it up, but it was garbage.

I played around 15 games and the monster didn't win ONCE. It was 10 minutes of walking around, 2 minutes of fighting it, then it'd run away and you just repeat the process until you win. And if you wanted the gameplay to be change in any way, it cost you money.
