Real talk though, I actually work for Nintendo, in an office right next to Shibata's. Only really do menial admin things though, but I've heard some good stuff. One thing I know is they're combining Chibi-Robo and Pikmin, and Metroid with F-Zero, for Switch games releasing this year. There's also a Kirby and Boxboy 3DS platformer coming, which looked cute as fuck.

Pikmin shares a dev team with 2D Mario. Super Mario Maker probably became a priority over Pikmin 4 then Miyamoto was told to make a game that would use the Gamepad to its fullest so Star Fox Zero probably pulled him away.

Not him but I bought a Switch and there are literally no new exclusives announced for this year yet and I'm thirsty as fuck for a proper nintendo direct.
