terra shits damage. celes is more of an all rounder.
unless you're talking waifushit.
Celes for life
Not even a debate. Celes is the only choice.
Celes's runic thing seems like a dumb gimic early on but later in the game you can completely cheese fights with it.
Celes because the prison scene made my mind go wild when I was young.
They are both god tier though. Those leotards goddamn.
Both got CLOWNED regardless
Terra is way better cuz best wife
Runic is so absurdly strong
>Not posting Nude Trance Terra
Celes is the protagonist and the superior choice.
Celes desu
If Terra wasn't a useless bitch pretending to be a mommy in WoR, it would be a closer competition.
Who has the better theme?
Tina can become a cute monster girl
Terra's Theme is good for long term listening and atmosphere
Celes' Opera Theme hits you right square in the fucking feels.
Terra
Celes
In game, Tina for raw damage, Celes for utility.
Waifu, obviously Celes
This. Terra a shit
i'll take the one who hasn't had as much clown dick inside her as a pair of oversized striped boxer shorts
>Tina
You fuckers're worse than the "SUBS NOT DUBS" faggots. I bet you say Aerith like a lispy faggot, too.
Celes better waifu.
Celes. Terra is completely irrelevant in the 2nd half of the game story wise, and fucks off from your party for a big chunk of the first half.
It's almost like your first exposure to the name sticks with you or something...
Young me liked Terra more, but somehow didn't realize that he liked damaged women until years later.
Locke/Celes are the main characters in my eyes
Play BotW with english, then with japanese audio. One doesn't sound like total fucking ass.
Locke.
Tina's great, isn't she?
i'll take chibi Celes
Was FF6 the last FF to have a good second world map theme?
7 and 9 fucked up big time by changing the world map themes.
Seriously.....who the HELL DO YOU THINK FAG youtu.be
You know, in any other game (or if FF6 were made in the modern day) a character that's half demon that can transform would not only be an edgelord piece of shit, but mistrusted by her friends, and take up 100% of the plot. It's strange to think about how what would be prime OC Donut Steal bait today takes a back seat to the rest of the cast after the first quarter of the game.
Terra obviously.
>Cyan
>Edgar
>Sabin
>Celes
Best party coming through, no minmax -fags allowed.
Have you played the Brave New World hack?
...
>Gogo
>Celes
>Sabin
>Umaro
fite me
you have 2 of the top 4 characters in your party user. you're pretty damn close to minmaxing
Where is this from?
>unironically using Cyan
People did this?
world of final fantasy
>Dog Terra
All of my yes.
>he didn't use Ultros exclusively
too stupid to figure out the glitch to get him in your party?
Neither
I always used Relm and Setzer on my team though.
What kind of retard wastes Shadow's Seventh Dream on Ultros instead of reviving General Leo?
You're only partially correct. The theme you're thinking of (Searching for Friends) comes at a point in the story where some spark of hope has been reignited. The first Dark World theme after Kefka blows up the world is a miserable dirge.
he makes the best Super Imp. Also, spamming rank 1 sword tech is the best dps you can get till floating continent when your magicians start to pull ahead
that dirge fit the tone of the story perfectly. i'd argue its one of the best world map themes because of it
No, that's Drill, which has 191 power to Dispatch's 120 power.
Offering + Genji Glove for sick deeps and 4 instant kill rolls per turn
Lord help me I never thought I'd see people argue over the dmg potential of FF6 attacks. That shit's so old and classic and pre-internet/guide shit that I'd hoped it was immune to it and folks would still think to play it for fun, not min/max.
...
Yeah. It turned one of my least favorite FFs into one of my favorite JRPGs ever and I've played a lot of them.
>Those midget sprites
I didn't realize these were possible to acheive. Dang, I learned something today.
>giving Genji Glove to anyone but mah nigga Locke and his Valiant Knife/Excalibur combo
>giving Offering to anyone but Setzer with Fixed Dice
cyan is great you fucking nigger
Best girl
That's because it's from Record Keeper, not FFVI.
>adding mobileshit sprites to the original SNES sprite spritesheet
Why would anyone do this?
Who cares when you can cheese the game with 2 easily obtained spells?
Also, every character has something broken late game.
Not to mention the balance of FF6 was one of the worst in the series, it was so easy to break the game.
Going from IV JP to VI is a shock because the difficulty drop is so severe from a game that wasn't even hard to begin with. It's like they tried to make the game as easy as possible.
good luck getting a Drill that early without using a guide
Not even the biggest debate of the series.
nonsense. Terra and Celes are both in excellent taste.
The 3 you mentioned have a clear cut winner. The other two are trash comparatively
Why do people like this game? I'm playing it right now and it's been a chore, there has barely been any interesting boss fight. Terra just woke up after rampaging, when does it get good?
...
What's the best version of FF6 to play?
I have, it's not enough to make the game worth playing. The only major thing it improves is the esper system, the rest is pretty garbage.
>le epin pop culture reference nmber. 145434 xDDDD
No. Just no.
This. Tifa is objectively the only correct choice.
all the boss battles in the game are sadly way to easy to be remotely interesting
only boss battle that ever killed me was the one that casts a 9999 ultima on death and that's not actual difficulty, it's just something that kills you once guaranteed, then the second time you're prepared to loophole around it
Edgar and Sabin are the best bros
All you have to do is check the shop after Terra flies away. How is that hard to figure out?
>Celes
>Setzer
>Sabin
>Cyan
thats how my main party always end up
oh. my bad, i thought you had to steal it from one of the cranes in Vector. I was thinking of the Debilitator
And rages, and lores, and character identity, and the magic system as a whole, and enemy balance, and boss fights, and how physical damage scales. Keep being triggered by meaningless bullshit, though.
SNES or GBA with restored soundtrack
Apparently no one here knows about firebird Terra but me youtu.be
>ctrl+f rydia
>0 results
Shame on you, Sup Forums.
Firelord fuck firelord!!!!!!
>ctrl+f agrias
>0 results
>started ff6 for the first time blind last week
>jap ver. because not EOP
>will forever know her as tina
lol
People just basically like it for the story and atmosphere. It's a rushed game for sure but it has so many small memorable moments and the cast of characters is fantastic people tend to overlook fairly basic gameplay.
Also, the soundtrack. Somebody once described it as Uematsu taking crayons of SNES sound chip and painting Sistine Chapel with it.
There are about four boss fights in the entire game that are interesting, and by interesting I mean they have a gimmick, and of those four only one of them forces you to pay attention to it. FF6 is not the game you play if you want good JRPG gameplay.
all have compromises
SNES is has a wierd Ted Woolsey script and lot's of bug/exploits
the GBA version has a better translation but also slowdowns, super bright colors and terrible music compression
android/PC is a fucking awful visual update that makes my eyes bleed (pic related)
I'd say the best option is SNES with this patch:
romhacking.net
this one also looks cool, though I didn't try it yet:
romhacking.net
any fellow umarofags in this thread?
His theme alone makes him one of the best FF Characters
youtu.be
The GBA rom has a fixed music patch with orchestral opera
really what was the point of that character
>comes late
>useless in combat
>zero story relevance out of combat
There is no choice
So you can put him in a team with Gogo, Mog, and Gau and beat bosses without pressing a single button
Suddenly I’m left wondering if I love both FF6 and Chrono Trigger for the way they present their story, as opposed to then having any memorable gameplay
>All the huge FF6 wank in FF14 and we still don't have trance forms or Terra's costume for cosplay
Yoshidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Both were cutting edge for the time, hating them for their gameplay is like hating Castlevania for not playing like SotN
That negative review of BNW is gold.
>wow game 2 hard nobody would play it
Please never let this man play one of the genuine hard mods for VI or a game like Nocturne, his pea brain wouldn't be able to take it.
VI's gameplay was arse though, it was patently worse than the previous 2 games in the series
CT is considerably better about having bosses and random enemies with memorable gimmicks and not totally going off the rails without specifically abusing Robo.
Honestly I feel like they hit so many of the same notes they may as well have been combined into one character and been stronger for it.
>the boss battles weren't hard enough therefore the improvements in map design, navigation, ATB, and customization are null and void
Autism
First playthrough, should I try this?
