I just plopped one down next to the kelps. It doesn't take a lot of resources anyway so if you don't like the location you can just make a new one.

build a scanner room and set it to find sandstone chunks
hunt those down and you'll find plenty of silver for your needs

Can someone tell me how to build a fucking base? I hate basebuilding and have no interest in doing it. I tried to make a multi purpose room but it has no entrances. Help an idiot out. Which parts do I need to make to build a very basic base? Fuck aesthetic appeal.

having a base on the surface to be a pit stop is ok. don't make it your main base though otherwise you're a pussy

Grassy plateau and The Shallow are plebeian places, but they're still acceptable because they're pretty much close to everything, safe and with plenty of resources.

The only thing that feels off is the northern island feels more true north rather than NE like your whole map is rotated clockwise a few degrees. However I could be wrong but I tried to use the in-game compass to compare in my head. Other than that it looks solid, user.

So my giant cyclops submarine can only survive crushing pressure of 500m (before upgrades) but I can happily swim deeper with my wetsuit?

This is stupid, and shouldnt be like this. The game should have been made with a dive limit of like 30m without aid. It would make reaching the deep so much more satisfying/terrifying.

Hatches are used to make entrances to any room. Build near surface for solar until you find an alt energy source. Thermal op. Find alien containment and grow your own fish to eat and drink.

Reminder that windows are a structural weakness and no decent base should have them.

Can Warpers teleport your seamoth? I went to the 500 degasi habitant, left it near the top of the cave and now it just isn't there and the icon shows it's 25m above in the cave ceiling, but there is no way to actually get there.

You'd think they would apply that to their submarines then wouldnt you?

Build your solar panels directly on your buildings, buildings that are connected share power. Later on you can find power transmitters that allow you to wire up bases to further away power.

Thats because you're subconsciously thinking the aurora points north, which throws off your perception a bit in game unless you're on the surface.

Kelp forest is pretty nice. It's central, full of base resources, and the stalkers are pretty amusing.
