Only one of my friends has the beta with me, and playing the two man ship is no fun. They should have made an open beta instead
>windows shop
if it was on steam then maybe
Is it out yet!?
This and MHW, and Death Stranding are the only games I am looking forward to.
kys
:)
If it wasn't exclusive to Windows 10, sure.
>full price
Fuckkinngg mircorosft...
You can play 14 days for free if you get Game Pass
>tfw no friends
this game looks kinda fun but not if you're playing alone
thx bb
*kiss*
Is he holding the compass like that.
Why would anyone want to play this? Everything I've seen from it makes it look generic and dull as fuck. You go to an island filled with terrible AI skeletons, yank some treasure and then leave. Wow. Then you sail around and maybe another player's ship shows up.
Zzzzzz
What the fuck is gamepass?
gonna be casual and shallow as fuck as any other microsoft funded game
That looks pretty cool
...
Is it even worth trying? From the trailer and a couple of clips it looked very mediocre to me...
t. microsoft
something that milks money out of youngsters on roadblocks
Try? sure. Buy? not till its like $30 No idea where they get off charging Full price for a game that uses fucking runescape sprites.
does this include the beta?
> You go to an island filled with terrible AI skeletons, yank some treasure and then leave.
(NO MANS SKY FLASHBACKS)
I'm waiting for the kraken and bounty hunting. It will apparently be a bit like dark souls lndictment. People who kill other people will get bounties on them.
>tumblrweed
DUDE
It's a nice game and I enjoyed it, but unless they add more things then going to islands, digging up treasure and occasionally shooting other people is a pretty boring gameplay loop.
at least there's co-op and pvp
NMS doesn't even have that
When you choose to play with 2 players or 3-4 players it automatically pairs you with people unless you invite someone yourself.
I did a few treasure hunts with some rando and we sunk an opposing ship.
And at least it's not 60$
and it has multiplayer
It doesn't make it look better, though
>become the most hunted man in sea of thieves
I that does sound tempting.
>$60
Ya no
What would you add?
Why is it sixty fucking dollars? Did they hand make everything?
The beta has one type of quest giver, no animals, no ship customization and not even new equipment except the blunderbuss.
At least wait until the full game is out before you criticize a gimped beta? Its actually a BETA and not a demo like modern devs think the word beta means.
I would add
Upgradable items
Sea monsters
Ghostships at night
Dangerous wildlife
Other kinds of enemies
More NPCs to talk with
Can't confirm but my friend told me data-miners found the Kraken and ship customization
Can you actually hide chests in this game or do they despawn? Because there are lots of situations where somebody gets sunk by an island and potentially have the chance to hide chests from the enemies.
Wow and where are you going to get the budget for that Mr. Moneybags? Save it for the DLC.
Upgrades are coming, as far as I know. Everyone keeps talking about sea monsters, so if the devs are listening, they should be added eventually. When you die in the game you end up on a ghost ship, so it's in the game. The only thing is to start up server events where they invade the living. Wildlife would be awesome, I hope they add that. Only on big islands though. There should be more enemy types added, as well as more NPCs with more character rather than 'shopkeeper' and 'quest giver'. Don't know much about that time table though.
All good stuff there. As I see it, the only reason this is 60 at launch is to help with the cost of the servers at the beginning, since there will be the most players ever only happening at launch. The cost of devs to help with bugs at launch. And probably to help with advertisements. Wait untill it drops to 35-40. When that happens, the game should be cured of lag and long loading times. The server pop will probably be kinda low, but enough so it doesn't feel like everyone and their extended family decided to become pirates. Many of those features will probably have been added. And hopefully it'll encourage them to keep adding content if it's still being purchased at that time.
faction warfare
buccaneering

>At least wait until the full game is out before you criticize a gimped beta? Its actually a BETA and not a demo like modern devs think the word beta means.
THEY RELEASED IT YOU FUCKING WHORE
is there a beta going on?
>b-but it's a beta
Die
>The beta has one type of quest giver, no animals, no ship customization and not even new equipment except the blunderbuss.
>Its actually a BETA and not a demo like modern devs think the word beta means.
Wanna know how I know you don't know what a fucking beta is? Hint: Betas are feature complete you stupid motherfucker.
you can keep making xbl accounts and use the trial again
They really need to have islands that have something to explore in them. Yknow so the world isn't just scenery you go through on your way to chests.
Quests you can just find hidden in islands, shit like NPC bases you can choose to explore/trade in or raid, maybe some minimal construction even, like digging a small room under the sand to store... something (also add things that you would want to store I guess) like the rum room in pirates of the caribbean 1.
Honestly it seems that the people doing this game didn't read books or watch movies about pirates or the sea to get inspiration. There's nothing do to.
??
Although, to be fair, that's very close to release, and there won't be any new additions that change the game that much aside from stuff they're holding back from showing in the beta.
I worry they think of the game as a "platform" to add content to. people will get tired of it before the first DLC if that is the plan, they always do.
>Betas are feature complete you stupid motherfucker.
Says who?
Can you imagine being this retarded
>buccaneering
escort missions where someone hires you to guard a merchant ship would be great, because other players would try to capture it and then pvp ensues
>I have been handed a product so I can become a beacon of PR for a company for free
>I can't say I don't like the product though
do NOT apologise for game producers. they can manage their own god damn problems and it's our job to keep them to the standards we desire.
If you explore the larger islands, you can find caves and other places that might have a chest sitting around for you to take. This chest isn't something from your quest, it's just there on the island. NPC bases sounds neat. Maybe ocean fortresses so it can be a random location? Digging rooms under the sand is a silly idea, no. Construction would trash up the islands real quick.
Most of the stuff you listed is gonna be in the full game and they held a lot back for the beta.
The issue is if that content is still enough to hold people over.
>windows 10
Not installing that botnet kike shit
NPC bases already exist, but they're toned down.
adding things in the ocean is an absolute must. Add diving bells/diver suits and go nuts adding things ocean deep. Fauna, collectibles, shipwrecks, mermaids, whatever.
God my expectations of this game are impossibly high, I'm gonna be so dissapointed.
What I don't understand is why you believe that no features are being withheld in the beta. What makes you draw that conclusion?
>Xbox and Windows only
Top kek
Oh I just thought about this. Diving suits that are deployed from the diving bell, since the air tubes of them are short. So with the bell tied to the ship, the divers communicate with the ship telling it where to move to reach certain things, that should be very fun.
Nobody is apologizing for shit you ape
They purposely held back content like other types of quests thats not just X marks the spot.
When the game fucking comes out and the launch product gets analyzed then you can throw a fit.
Do you guys remember pirates online? That was the funnest shit for me. I remember buying membership and plundering with people on their boats until I was able to buy my own war galleon
Why are you even expecting that? The devs haven't mentioned anything like that at all
All of that besides Collectibles and diving suits is in the game right now. I don't think I'd like classic pirate stuff with diving suits. Now diving bells would be interesting, but I think it should be a quest element, and not something that is carried around always.
Pirates never did deep underwater stuff though, so I don't see how that would add anything. The monsters live down there, and the only treasures they have are bones.
I'm not expecting that, rather imagining my ideal game. Expectations wasn't the correct word sorry
what's wrong is weighting the conversation in their favour. why would you trust a vidya company with anything ever? don't lend them wins they haven't earned.
who cares if it has nothing to do with pirates? its fun. Imagine, a giant sea monster, dead at the bottom of the ocean, and you go with your diving equipment to explore inside the beast
no friends so I dont
Why would it be dead under the ocean? What killed it? I think they could instead let that happen after you kill a sea beast that's been chasing you above water, and you can explore it for a minute before it sinks too far under. It could have swallowed other treasures and shiny bits from ships that weren't able to kill it as it's come up.
youtube.com
First minute even tells you theyre withholding content from the beta
Stop this meme
are they withholding worthwhile content though?
>win10 exclusive
Yeah no
Game needs deep sea diving. Pitch black save for a little light that can run out of power.
So you just choose to believe that what we got to play this week is EXACTLY what we're going to get at launch?
Thats up to reviewers and players when the actual game is out, not the beta.
Both are fine, I just think diving bells sound more fun. Lots of room for fun things to happen, like you're exploring under water and suddenly another ship appears so your ship moves away to pvp, or the beast wakes up with you inside and your ship has to chase it to rescue you (though suppose you dont need diving for that)
Because this isn't the release. They are testing certain things with the public.
>Win10 and xbone
How hard will this flop?
It looks fun but I'm not playing it.
and you just chose to take a PR job on a doomed project?
Someone who is shilling for or who intends to buy this game, could you please give me a list of things to do?
What sort of things can players-alone or in groups-do in the game?
Other than
>Spend a few minutes running through an island to get loot
>Sailing around
PvP? Is it in depth or just regular fighting on equal grounds? Any depth to the game at all (beyond the ocean itself)? Any cool unique stuff that you won't find elsewhere?
This really feels like something that relies FAR too much on the fun with friends meme.
>They are testing certain things with the public.
they are getting streamers to show the game
That's not where this conversation started. Whether or not you think what they're withholding is worthwhile, the fact is we haven't seen the entire game yet.
While free advertising helps for sure, most beta launches are to test server stability and different PC builds to see what needs to be tweaked in the last month.
how about random merchant ships? so you can actually do what goddamned pirates are supposed to do
this conversation started with me having a problem with anons giving devs the benefit of the doubt.
The only thing I'm doing is pointing out to you your dumbass mistake
We just know theres gonna be 3 types of quest givers in the full game, more customization and sea creatures.
You dont even need friends to experience the multiplayer, it queues you with randoms if you want.
We just have no time with that gameplay loop. The gameplay loop in the beta is very restrictive.
...
Yeah it would be awesome, I was thinking about something like this
There is no doubt, fucknut. They are withholding content. That's a fact.
>Shit thread about a garbage Win10 only game with no content gets sidetracked by two pedantic losers arguing over whether or not the beta has missing content
The game sucks btw.
alright I won't say a god damn negative thing about it then, does that earn you your bonus?
It's very fun. I just hoped it has some sort of ending or end game, something to works towards and a more meaningful progression system.
I'm enjoying the Beta and it is very fun but I don't know if I'll buy it at full price.
I hate escort missions. If they add something like this, I hope you can opt out of those types of missions. I'd be more interested in a mission where you have to deliver a lot of supplies to somewhere else, but it marks you as a target to other pirates. So you are the ship that would be attacked.
>Not posting the edit
Anyone else getting Elite: Dangerous vibes from this game? Go to X hub, pick up either combat, hauling, or salvage mission, return. ad infinitum
I hope I'm wrong but if it turns out like that it'll be shallow as hell
...
It's not my fault you made a retarded claim despite contrary evidence. I sure wish I could get paid for that, however.
NMS was $60 at launch you relentless faggot
Far better. Thank you.
