Farming games

I have come to terms with the fact that I love farming. When I played Starbound, the only thing keeping me going was the desire to find all the plant seeds and cook all the dishes. When I did a nuzlocke of HG recently, I still come back to the save just to plant and water my berries, even though I don't need them anymore.

Does Sup Forums know any interesting video games that focus on farming, or have a significant farming mechanic that are NOT freemium facebook bullshit and are not stardew valley/harvest moon?

Honest question: how is Cloud Meadow? I'm not interested in the furry porn. Is the gameplay actually good?

Minecraft can be like that with the right mods, but then again it can be pretty much anything with the right mods

The porn isn't even that good my dude.

Rune Factory.

I have figuratively never seen any gameplay of Cloud Meadow.

Why the fuck aren't you playing stardew valley

Well, I just downloaded it. Wish me luck

>Why the fuck aren't you playing stardew valley
>"Does Sup Forums know any interesting video games that focus on farming, or have a significant farming mechanic that are NOT freemium facebook bullshit and are not stardew valley/harvest moon?"

>random spanish screenshot of Pokemon HGSS

porque?

You probably already know Rune Factory.

I just found it on the internet, was too lazy to cap it myself

Because I have already played stardew valley

Do any of these fucking games managed to do anything decent or interesting with speaking to NPCs, cause I tried playing Harvest Moon FoMT a while back and hearing the exact same lines day in, day out completely ruined the game for me.

Rimworld has some mods that focus extensively on farming and shit.
and steam recently tried to sell me this thing that might be up your alley. store.steampowered.com/app/405710/Staxel/ honestly looks like bootleg mineycrafta to me

That shit also has some serious bullshit where it constantly writes to your hard/solid state drive during gameplay.

>make potion in starbound
>effect lasts 5 seconds
fucking stupid

>make potion in terraria
>2-3 minutes for most potions 15 min for some effects
way better

Rune factory, also what exactly is your problem with harvest moon? most of the good ones are easily emulatable and plenty of fun

already married best waifu and earned Grandpa's blessings.

Stardew Valley characters are fucking bland and I have no idea what people see in them. Probably just porn.

He may have played them all.

Starbound is fucking shit in many aspects. I wasn't even cooking foods for the purpose of getting effects - they are all shit and basically useless, especially considering that some effects last shorter than it takes for your food meter to deplete, which means that you have an infuriating cooldown between uses.

Black Desert :^)

If I could play that on PC i would.

I'll second the minecraft suggestion there's quite a few farming focused modpacks out there actually so you can even find one that will have quests to guide you through.

There's also farming simulator I think 15 is the best but 17 is worth a look as well

1 through 3 is available on DS. DS emulation is as easy as plug and play.

Space Station 13 has better farming.
>genetic manipulation (very detailed)
>chemical roulette
>bees, animals
>ghetto medicine
>can destroy the station with kudzu that emits superheated plasma

...

Harvest moon, story of seasons, rune factory

Pretty sure they can all be emulated.

>Barely any are fuckable

the bug girl is kinda cute

Yeah, but it's also SS13, and for some reason Hydroponics is always right next to juicy bombing targets regardless of the map.

Shit, didn't read the OP entirely. SoS is HM so I suppose you should move on if you didn't like that.
Only other farming games I can name off the top of my head are Sakuna of rice and ruin, which isn't released, and early access games which aren't worth mentioning.

Banished.

100% shit although the bird old man does look kinda cool like he would fit in an old banjo era game, if you're going to mod anything get the female bachelor conversion mod so you can fuck sam

Finished that in a weekend and got my money back.

>not stardew valley/harvest moon

Why not those?

This mod adds a lot to the game for me. They're all pretty cute as girls, and getting the anime portraits mod makes the other bachelorettes pretty fuggable too.

Oh, Elena...

Minecraft

I wish Rune Factory would stop focusing on the stupid dungeon crawling and combat, and focus more on farming like the old harvest moons. I just want a few cows and chickens that I raise, not pokemon monster catching.

I can never go back to rune factory 3 or earlier, the UI and the menu/ item handling is so extreme horrible, despite having much better characters, story and world design

SimFarm

Sam becomes absolute best girl with it though she's super cute

How do you "finish" a townbuilder game? What did you do?

MAGNASANTI

I hope after the revolution we will use Internet IP's to find people like you and execute you sick fucks.

>tfw playing Trio of Towns
>that realization that EVERY girl is best girl and you ca't go wrong with any of them
>except maybe MC because marriage is kinda gimped and I think Inari is too

You can explore all it has to offer.
Banished doesn't offer much, it's few hours of fun, then repetition.

Question, wasn't there a John Deere-sponsored Harvest Moon knock off being developed at one point, or did I hallucinate that during a fever dream?

Play Story of Seasons then. Rune Factory was always meant to be more action oriented.

>crossing out so many boys
At least you redeem yorself by leaving lizardman.

Why the fuck are there not any of these games besides SDV on the switch yet? It's a match made in heaven and I'm fuckin jonesin a HM fix

>Played SoS
>Was alright, not quite good as other harvest moon
>Get rich by the end of first year
>read that if i wanted to marry the rich girl i would need to wait until late Y2
>already kinda tired of the game since it got to the point of routine and nothing new exciting nor any other goals to achieve
>could marry another girl but to do so not only i need to raise her hearts but also the one of her sister
>Fuck this
I tried to play SoS:ToT, but since it was barely like a month after i quitted SoS i couldn't get into it, plus the town was so fucking small, do it gets better or something?, or it's the same shit?

Haven & Hearth.

wow that game cant possibly still be running

My Time at Portia seems like it's pretty good.

Guess again

I just got a monster barn in RF4 and I have no clue what I am doing. I have an orc archer, pomme, chicken and a sheep so far. Aside from riding them for fun I haven't used them for anything else.

>riding them for fun
>orc archer

Lewd

UnReal World.

NOT....A....FARMING....GAME

But yeah, its pretty decent so far. Needs a lot more content before I'd recommend it to anyone.

holy shit they went 3D

did not expect that at all i thought they were slowly dying instead of making new stuff

It's called TRIO of towns motherfucker, do YOU think tiny-ass Westown is all you get?
But yeah it blows the first out of the water, you don't need to grind obnoxious shipment numbers like in the first to unlock shit and you can actually buy almost every material at 0 stars as time goes on, giving an actual use for all your money.
Farming is also expanded a little giving all crops 4 categories instead of just star rating and one of them makes any recipe using a crop with it maxed gives literally 5x as much. Lot of other small great changes too like ways to make shit grow faster and ways to raise crop quality faster.

>gif
Why

Orc archers are slave labor.

cause the windows snipping tool was still set to .gif since I had to take a screen for /gif/

Oh yeah, you can also fuck with time by holding R during a bunch of animations and get away with picking things up/doing other things taking no time out of the day.

I see that this seems to be compatible with Citra. I think I'll give it a shot. Thank you, user.

Has anyone played this shit?
store.steampowered.com/app/405710/Staxel/
Steam gave me a 25% off coupon but it still looks way too shit for the price.

best minecraft farming mods?

Its not out yet but Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin looks interesting

it is shit. Barely anything to do and its mostly "farming" to farm. You'd be better off playing Minecraft with a farming mod over that pile.

Enjoy it my man

can't be assed to actually check the name of the individual mods, but the Modern Millenaire modpack has some decent mods adding a whole bunch of crops and foods

That sounds a little better, will give it another try, though, i was also thinking about trying out Rune factory, since i heard it's harvest moon but more focused on combat, which sounds like it would give me another goal to keep me busy
between the two, which one is better?, and which RF should i play first?

1. Its not
2. Its not a farming game

Really? I found the attack up buff from food in Starbound ridiculous. Making spooky foods basically doubles your dps, I remember destroying the game with spooky doughnuts.

RNG Factory 4

Haha you bought starbound.

Sure did. Right when it first came out because I was one of the many people hyped as hell for Terraria in space.

It founded and has remained in the Buyer's Remorse category on my steam library.

The sims also has farming. I think 2 and 3 are best for that because you have seasons and you can sell/cook them in cool ways.

Best ToT

>between the two, which one is better?
Rune factory adds in dungeon crawling along with monster collecting, and as a result they didn't really evolve and focus on the farming aspects of the games. More of it is about beating bosses to progress the game then farming itself.

>RF 5
>Never

I've only played 4 but it's also spectacular. Its farming is almost as detailed but not quite as much as in Trio.
Everything else - the combat, waifu/husbandos, crafting is also great. I guess if you're more of a farming purist go ToT, otherwise if you just want a good-ass farming game just get RF4

Check out agricraft and pams harvest craft

Brush them every day so they get love points. Love points makes them stronger so they will be better in combat, they will water more of your field (Be sure to tell them to do that if you haven't, it'll save you a ton of time) and they will produce better items.

My suggestion would be to catch at least 1 chicken, cow, sheep and bee for the items they produce. Other than that the other things you catch are for watering your crops and to bring out to fight. Try not to catch too many though because while you can expand your barn capacity to ridiculous sizes feeding them all is extremely difficult.

Monsters are better companions to bring out than townspeople and can easily outscale you even. Primarily what matters is the level you tame them at and their LP.

Why don't you just cut out the middle men that are story, characters, and everything else that isn't farming, and play a real farming game. Reap what you sow, manage and expand your own farm, buy better equipment, plant new crops, raise animals, dabble in forestry among other things. There are decent mods for it, and it's more realistic than your average indie game with farm mechanics

Depends. Are the gay sex mods any good?

...

>tfw anytime you open the keyboard the first predicted word is always Sup Forums
I need to leave this place

I like it. Not because of the farming life. I like how you can build things for people and that you can destroy every block.

Thanks a lot for the tip.

>and it's more realistic than your average indie game with farm mechanics

People who play Harvest Moon don't want legitimate farming.

>Un plant de Selro!
>Nombre de Baies qu'il porte: 2.
Get the fuck out my country

>tfw all I have to do is press the most recommended word over and over and it comes out with absolutely mortifyingly degenerate filth
too many internet sluts.

>When I played Starbound, the only thing keeping me going was the desire to find all the plant seeds and cook all the dishes.
When I played it back in late 2013 and early 2014 I also enjoyed that.
Played with a bunch of friends.
By the end I was scanning for a large system that we could keep as a main base. Looked for a system that had lots of planets of different types that people liked. Had one large grassland world that I was filling with crops.

Use the horny bachelors mods. It's the best Nexus has to offer.

This is true, but OP was asking for farming games with signifigant farming mechanics

I want the farming sim without all the tedium and boring shit.

I don't want to sit on a tractor and pretend I'm farming in real life. I want a game that lets me pretend I'm a farmer without all the tedium, that also lets me dabble in relationships, adventure, and other minor things.
