>no man! DLC is cool! remember when you were little and wished there was more to play when you finished a game?
>imagine they could add tons of levels and shit! they could develop games for years after they are released and make them even better!
>we should let them do it, what's the worse that could happen?

Expansion packs existed before 2006 you knobhead

Name ONE.

>no man! DLC is cool! remember when you were little and wished there was more to play when you finished a game?

Best DLC

I bought a lot of DLC songs for Rockband. In a world where it costs $1 to buy a song, why not spend that $1 to buy not just the song, but the song with play along game? I regret nothing.

DLC isn't so bad now that we have lootboxes.

>2006
>holy shit are you really paying $5 for horse armor? this industry is fucking dead
>2018
>$20000 for a knife texture sounds fair, the free market has prevailed

Let me guess, Train Simulator?

Wow, you're pathetic

Underage get out

Paid DLC was looked down on until Valve started doing it, then it was praised and defended at every turn.

...

Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

THAT'S a GOAT one. Slipped my mind

Nowhere in that chain of replies does anybody say DLC until you.

back then, DLCs were proper expansion packs that added in a large amount of decent quality content, and weren't just reskins of weapons or some shit that are obvious cash grabs

>showing off costume sets
you literally picked the worst example possible of bad dlc, costume sets are fine

Yep.

Fucking Diablo: Hellfire was around in 1997 you stupid Gen Omega supercuck. I swear to God you guys have autism so fucking bad its doubled your chromosome count.

Fucking trogolodyte piece of shit.

No they aren't

I'll bite, since it's cool to reminisce about how awesome EPs were back then:

SimCity 4 Rush Hour
Sims 1: Livin Large, Hot Date, Superstars, etc... EPs were the whole point of the Sims
Quake mission packs
Doom mission packs
Empire Earth: Art of Conquest
Would the Civ IV EPs count? Those were released from 2006 to 2008

I havent played many games that made use of EPs back then so idk much but god damn, Rush Hour was tons of fun.

Yes they are, they don't affect gameplay in anyway and aren't even a playable piece of content they literally just make a character look different and in some cases let the devs do crossover or promotional costumes that wouldn't have been possible at launch, costumes are fine, it's the shitbags who are selling half a game for full price then releasing the rest as dlc that you should be complaining about

>back then
>first ever piece of DLC was horse armor
FINNA CRINGE

my fault for using the terms interchangeably and thinking no one would sperg out about it

>2006
>when you are little
>I was 17

>Empire Earth: Art of Conquest
That's also GOAT
The Space Epoch was awesome and really interesting, visually speaking. the weird monolith, simple shaped dreadnought and Town Center were cool as shit

The Pacific campaign was also Kino as fuck

>first ever piece of DLC was horse armor
???
the original xbox had DLC for Halo 2, rainbow six 3, and project gotham just to name a few.

No, they aren't

What is that weird symbol replacing the dollar sign op

Postal 2

it's wrong you dumbfuck, all of these fucking costumes should be already in the fucking game

It's the symbol for Yens you retard

After that day I learned my lesson, never forget bitches. Because forget is forgiving.

Never again.

except they were actual expansions and not money hatting, you pathetic cuck defending this shit kys

>DLC fo halo 2

oh you mean the map packs that were completely free in PC game arena shooters and call of duty 1? Yeah lol those were the DAYS!!!

>they don't affect gameplay in anyway so they should be allowed to ask me 1 thousand dollars for to have all of them, it's not like modders do them for free or that other players online have the option to completely hide them if they do not posses the DLC making the purchase utterly useless LOL

daily reminder that we went from legit expansions, to horse armor DLC, to pre order DLC, to on disk locked DLC, to paid mods sold as dlc to loot boxes

and you allowed it

>b-but EA got fucked

hahaha you sweet child
