Dead Money > Honest Hearts > Old World Blues >>>>>> Choking on my own liquid shit and dying a slow, painful death > Lonesome Road
Lonesome Road offered the best and most aesthetic and fashionable armor set in the game though.
Doesn't make up for the boring hallway of a map, and BEARBULLBEARBULL
So I recently just played through all the DLC and I was expecting Lonesome road to be waaaay longer than it actually was. It had potential to be a real grand finale type story but fell kinda short.
Honest Hearts was probably my favorite because >she
I can't decide between The Legion, or Mr. House. To me it seems like Legion would be the best for the Mojave. But Mr. House would be good aswell. NCR is incompetent retards.
>Elijah's Last Words is ridiculously good
>it only applies to melee and not unarmed
>Veronica doesn't have melee tagged
whose fucking retard idea was this
This is the correct opinion.
Legion is doomed to fail one way or another. Side with House.
The Legion will fall apart real soon after Caesar's inevitable death.
They both blow. The Legion's likelihood to fall apart is sort of an advantage.
thank you.
Mr House. He knows his shit, the Legion is a roaming band of Raiders whose only form of government will collapse due to dying from brain cancer. Who knows how much more aggressive, violent and unpredictable they'll become when their worldview is shattered in about 9 months time.
Woah, it's an army of elliots. Someone make a photoshop.
How does House blow? He actually has a goal and plan to move forward and he is an intelligent man.
>inb4 arbitrary SPECIAL set that doesn't affect NPC's, I don't like him muh facist or my mary sue cyborg Courier with 10+ 200 Rick and Morty IQ is better
So i think I'm actually halfway through the story, should I just do main quests or should I play at my own pace? Also for my second playthrough what are some essential mods to play with? I want the game to look pretty
>legion
>best for the Mojave
Legion is by far the worst option. After Caesar dies from testicular cancer the Legion will collapse, and in a matter of years or even months the Mojave will be reduced to a number of squabbling tribes.
He has too loose a grasp on things. All the families have plans against him and the PC can choose to let him know about them or not. He is utterly dependent on a few individuals (Benny, the Courier) and if they betray him his shit falls apart to a larger degree than any other faction.
The side quests are the best part of the game, don't gloss over them.
>Legion's likelihood to fall apart is sort of an advantage.
In what possible way?
>California is a hot desert
>Nevada is a hot desert
>NCR troops dress up like they're in autumn/winter
This always bugged the shit out of me.
shit game, terrible writing, even worse gameplay
I honestly pity anyone who played this fucking garbage
House is a hack and a sleaze. Pay attention to his backstory in computer logs throughout the wasteland. Ditch this senile egotistic mummy and join the bear.
it was my favorite map as a sniper. Stalking with the AM rifle and popping the heads off the divide residents was very satisfying.
>>Legion's likelihood to fall apart is sort of an advantage.
>In what possible way?
Because something better will have the chance to rise from the ashes
>doesn't know Deserts get really cold at night
Retard.
Don't tip that fedora too low, now.
Yeah, but they have all that shit on in the fucking blazing hot heat of the desert.
Retard.
Okay fair enough but why do they wear them during the day?
They are saving up heat for when the night comes
which faction did you choose?
This isn't exactly new.
I'm assuming a lot of it is to keep dust and shit out of their boots and clothing.
Also, the big chest piece makes sense given that the biggest threat to the NCR at the start of the game is the Legion and tribes, both of whom use a lot of melee weapons.
>backstory is building up superglobal robotics and tech company from nothing but sheer determination after his half-brother steals his Father's inheritence to H and H.
>so successful that other companies like Big MT and General Atomics were envious because they were locked into Government paid programs while Robco was free and also getting paid by the Government
>punished his brother by tearing the floor underneath him by buying all stocks and shareholding of H and H making it his, this causes him to lose mental stability becoming a flat earther
>invents a safe immortality precedure that causes no mental degredation
Sounds like a cool guy to me.
The entirety of the legion is made up of football gear wearing retards. At most a few of the individuals who still have some self worth will fragment and split up the legions into warring tribes. Nothing good will come from their dissemination.
i know right!?!
they should dress in daisy dukes, tank tops, and sandals the way the real military does
>Dead Money > Honest Hearts >>>>>> Choking on my own liquid shit and dying a slow, painful death > Old World Blues > Lonesome Road
FTFY
if it's so safe then how did my courier pull him out and beat him to death with a 9-iron?
if you actually think about it, no one has anything good to say about House besides House himself. House is great at convincing people to work for him, that's all. joining him is ultimately just to help yourself because he offers the Courier the most luxurious lifestyle of all the options. there's absolutely no reason to believe he'll do anything for the rest of the Mojave.
He thought the courier was a retard who would just do whatever he asked
House always wants more, I see no reason to believe that, in the future, he won't simply rebuild most of the southwest in to what it once was, or even better.
Legion is best because:
1. Trade routes are priority number one. you want people to invest, so secure those investments.
2. Human rights are a luxury. Everyone must become a slave of the state if humanity's survival is to be ensured.
3. Tribals are incredibly likely to keep old grudges against each other, disrupting the integrity of your society. The best vanguard against this is to force them to remove tribal markings and affiliation.
House is planning to gwt technological advancement back into motion. In 20 years he'll turn the Mojave and New Vegas into a luxurious City State that'll make the Enclave look primitive. 50 years he'll have people in orbit installing new Satillites for brodcasting. And in a 100 years colony ships will begin their journey's to find a new home away from this irradiated, bloodthirsty and scorched earth.
>Jesus this chump is asking me why he should join me
>Here I'll flatter his ego and say he's saving mankind
>The man who's biggest accomplishments include primitive robots, a partially functioning missile defense system and basic computers will put us in space
The Institute, Big MT, hell, probably even the Enclave Remnants and the Midwestern BoS are all leaps and bounds ahead of House.
What do you honestly think the corrupt NCR and animalistic Legion have to offer than the man who built up the largest tech company in all Pre-War America from nothing?
Does he really want that? Or does he simply wish to rebuild Vegas to its pre-war state as a black-hole for caps and the center of vice and degeneracy and stop there? His robots aren't going to be sufficient in safeguarding neighboring states
he said all that to convince idealistic Couriers that he's the best choice. when does he actually ask you to help him rebuild or advance technology? all he wants you to do is remove a threat so he can stay safe in his tower.
He justs wants Vegas.
>Tfw no fallout theme roguelike
Don't say Cataclysm. It's shit
Everything made from Robco was top of the line in Fallout you mouth breathing retard. Everything used Robco OS and devices like terminals and turrets. Robco robots were so sophisticated and advanced that BigMT tried to replicate Houses Securitrons. Nothing could escape Robco's grasp.
>Kills the Robco Tour Guide
mmmmmm robo racism
My man, you're not thinking of it like an enterprising entrepreneur. During the game, he has just freshly stabilized New Vegas, towards the end, if you side with him, he now has an army of Securitrons that rival the NCR's Mojave force in terms of sheer numbers, who knows how strong they are altogether in terms of firepower. Now, if you like money as much as House, what do you do once you have the Hoover Dam, you take its power and you put it in to factories, you use that to rebuild the Strip until it's been rebuilt from the ground up, better than it ever was, you give people an actual reason to come. People are now flocking from all around to see New Vegas, in droves greater than ever before, but the journey is long and hard, many can't make it due to the difficulty, what now? You establish brand new, functioning highways that connect all of the major hub areas of the southwest, but shit, there's a lot of people trying to rob the travellers too, good thing you have a Securitron army, now you establish protection and law across all of these areas to make sure the only way people are getting robbed, is in your casinos.
House loves Vegas, there's no fucking way this isn't how his ending goes 30 years down the line.
>most of the NCR is presumably in Southern California (boneyard, dayglow, bako)
NPCs in New Vegas call it "Long 15" and not "The long 15"
Fucking dropped
ever hit that point when you realize that the yes man route really fucks over humanity?
But symbolism is important to Ulysses.
Don't forget literally bankrupting the NCR by charging them 5 caps per oz water and watt of electricity sent to California. I'm not a mathfag but the amount of Energy produced by Hoover Dam (Vegas needs only 5% to be at full power) plus all that water from Lake Mead and thr Colorado River that's enough to bankrupt the NCR 5 times over. So he now has the government by the balls with a debt he'll never claim to do anything he wants.
General Atomics, Vault 0 and the Institute all have better robots, and the Enclave have better computers and turrets. RobCo isn't terrible by any means but they're always right behind the competition.
House wouldn't dare. Most of the NCR's army is still in California, and if they needed to they could mobilize and kick in House's front door.
t. civie
Word, I don't think it's wrong to assume House only cares about Vegas, and I doubt he would ever personally leave Vegas, but, it's pretty fucking obvious the good in House's ending is that he would incidentally rebuild the world for the sake of Vegas.
>risking hundreds of Troopers to a literal meatgrinder of an army sized gatling laser, grenade launcher and missile launcher having, self repairing, bulletproof killbots
When the casualty reports come back the Government would be overthrown by angry mobs.
You just described the NCR-Brotherhood war. The NCR won that war.
House can't win in the long run. NCR could surround vegas and run a war of attrition.
Are you actually retarded? Every Securitron is built with fucking anti-trooper, rapid fire missile launchers, are bulletproof to small calibre fire and can take a punishment like actual tanks. First wave of NCR being slaughtered by rocketfire would probably send the rest running.
House would just send his army of Securitrons to where the NCR pests are cuasing a neusance and erase them from the area.
Why would the NCR start a war over something like that? If House takes the Dam, that's it, it's over, he has thousands of Securitrons and it's folly to think he won't be making more, and better. The NCR knows House isn't a threat to them, because he has no desire to be whatsoever, but, if House takes the Dam, they have absolutely nothing against him, he can do anything he wants at that point.
Thing is, he clearly doesn't want them gone, House wants the NCR to do well, because when they do well, he does well. He's going to help them down the line in his ending, no question about it. You have to think about this shit from a business sense, House is, at the end of the day, a businessman.
It doesn't work even close to that, lel. The securitrons can only operate within the range of House's antenna. You can see the stats for the upgrades securitrons. They aren't invincible. NCR could blockade vegas, dig in, and just wait House out. Attacking a fortified position with NCR snipers on guard (with FMJ rounds, mind you) would cause losses to House's Army that he simply couldn't replace.
If the NCR REALLY wanted to ruin house's day they would simply artillery the strip from afar. There's nothing he could do
For the Yes Man, Legion, and House endings, they rely on one person in order to succeed and flourish. When the Courier, Caesar, or House expire, unless they have a proper succession in place, or somehow hand power over to a more stable government system before that happens, everything they build could fall apart with a a single blood clot
And every Brotherhood soldier had power armor, some type of energy rifle and air support out the ass. I really don't see much of a difference except that squads of Paladins can't be wiped out by a pulse grenade.
I know, which is why I was telling that user that House would never try to fuck with the NRC proper because it wouldn't be profitable him nor would it be possible with the NCR's army being as big as it is.
>Not siding with Yes Man
You just don't understand you stupid schmuck. A Brotherhood Paladin will eventually be overwhelmed because the Laser Rifle sucks shit at crowd control and he's a weak, mortal human but a robot with tank plating and weapons meant to crowd control like fucking rapid fire rockets and a grenade launcher would completely decimate the NCR. Ypu know how morale shattering it'd be to witness squad after squad getting blown to bits and the killbots that just murdered your pals not suffering a scratch? And where the fuck would the NCR get artillery from all of a sudden? Nellis?
>the Laser Rifle sucks shit at crowd control
You don't need CC when fighting NCR. They don't zerg rush like Legion.
>he's a weak, mortal human
Wearing a set of armor that looks something like this. He's basically a robot at this point.
>that ending to Primm Slim's companion quest
Apperently that's how the NCR BTFO the brotherhood from Helios. Zerg rushed by sheer numbers. So they had zero crowd control weaponry unlike Houses Mk II Securitrons.
A really GGEZ strategy would be to just Jam House's radio signals. he couldn't command his army and the NCR could just waltz in
Using numbers =/= zerg rush.
No irony here.
How are they gonna do that when the most advanced thing the NCR has at disposal is one stolen vertibird? And the only thing they can manufacture is shit service rifles.
M8, Radar jammers are not that complicated. And house isn't going anywhere either kek
Also, the NCR can freely manufacture Vertibirds. They just don't have the petroleum to power them. Also, we had Artillery in world war fucking 2. I think the NCR could manufacture what is tantamount to a big gun
How does he rip off poor people? Through the casinos?
I don't know I think it may be a lityle hitch considering it's been 200 fucking years after a nuclear holocaust so just magically creating radar jammers again might not be so simple.
Why doesn't House clean his fucking house? New Vegas looks like shit while the lazy shut-in has millions of caps to throw away and a number of robots.
...
>Starting with radio jammers
>Then saying RADAR
Radio jammers are ez as fuck. Can you make a radio? You can make a crude jammer.
Radar shit is basically the same, if you can make a radar, you can make a jammer. However making radars is a bit more complicated.
The point is House is communicating with his army via some sort of wireless signal. Jam it and you essentially neuter house.
>Blockade place
>Shell the fuck out of place
>have atgs and atrs set up to deal with securitrons
What now, House?
If the NCR were competent they would have just shelled the legion to bits.
This has actually been explained in the Fallout Bible or some kind of bullshit from devs' musings on wiki or something. It's more of a cop out/hand wave for fun to explain video game logic and not something you take seriously though. All I remember is that the reason post-apoc US can't get its shit together and the streets are still filled with trash (relevant: en.wikipedia.org
Casinos offer the wastelanders temporary relief from their shitty life, but the house always wins, so people end up in debt and become House's indentured servants.
I really wish we could've seen what the Divide looked like before it got nuked. I want to know more about the settlement that the Courier helped get to its feet.
Probably the same reason most cities were fucking disgusting until the 20th century. Modern standards of cleanliness are relatively new.
I imagine it would be an issue with the whole 'how do you shell insurgents' thing, since they have basically no intelligence capability in their C3I chain at all. That's providing that the legion doesn't just eternally blob, and that their fort as an operating base has some kind of security screen around it. I doubt that though.
An actual proper fallout with the factions being more realistic would be nice. An absolute mongoloid can work out how to make a mortar. Not the most efficient one, but one none the less. We should be seeing some mortars around with the NCR. From little 50-60mm babies (inb4 spade mortar) to 120mm+ ones.
Even if they made them black powder so that each base can produce their own ammo more easily instead of relying on their shitty logistical infrastructure, they would still be good. The propellant for Nebelwerfer 42 rockets, among others, was just black powder.
>sneak critical
That is so satisfying.
Didn't the NCR kill a bunch of great khans for no reason? Just kill em all and let God sort em out.
To be fair, The current general of the NCR forces is called incompetent in-universe. I'm sure a competent commander could route the legion fairly successfully
I just want to direct fire a commando mortar in fallout
>for no reason
they are literally raiders like the fucking vipers that randomly attack you on the road, the NCR just wanted to put them down like any other rabble of gang niggers but it turns out they had a bunch of wimmenz n kids too because their gang lasted over generations and became a real tribe. so when the NCR gets tired of their nigger culture and mows down every khan they see coming out of a valley, they at least have a reason. the wasteland is no place to discuss culture relativism.
I keep finding new stuff in this game, am I the only one?
>everyone's brain is now slightly degenerated by radiation
>Vault Dwellers are the only "pure humans"
There's no serious basis for that. Sounds like typical Enclave/arrogant Vault Dweller shit.
>but the effect manifests in subtle ways like not rebuilding infrastructure/cleaning the streets
lol
Tell that to Shady Sands.
>For comparison, Japan was constantly firebombed and later literally A-Bombed the fuck out, and the nuke site is now just some curiosity
Not equivalent at all.
>Yes, the whole world's infrastructure wasn't completely destroyed like an actual post-apocalypse
lmao
>Another angle could be metaphysical fuckery like the Great War creating a psychic wound in humans that will never heal
Or they're just used to junk lying around and have low standards when it comes to street cleanliness and whatnot. That shouldn't be the case for House and his personal snow globe though.
> tfw no fallout new vegas re-release with better graphics and no gamebryo
> tfw no kickass trailer for said game with "aint no grave" playing over some FMV.
> tfw I have shit taste
They wear it during the day because believe it or not it's literally better. Having a sweater on during 100+ degree weather actually holds in your sweat and technically turns your clothing into a cooler. Add a little wind and you actually get a AC right on your skin.
The effectiveness of such depends incredibly heavily on local humidity. It's closer to turning your clothes into an evaporative cooler, rather than an AC
