Do NOT support this travesty if you are a fan of Castlevania.
It's Mighty No.9 all over again.

It just looks like another SotN. What's so offensive about this?
>muh 3D
It looks fine. Nothing spectacular but it's okay. Mighty No 9 was a mess of bad lighting and textures, actually try and compare the two and you'll see how much of an exaggerated comparison it is
>a mess of bad lighting and textures
Sounds like Bloodstained to me senpai. If they can't do it right then they shouldn't have done it at all.
Don't know if it's just a feeling, but the character seems to run somehow slower than in SotN.
Also, it looks a lot like Castlevania. Those bell towers linked by corridors. And monsters. Especially those constantly respawning fags that keep floating from one side of the screen to the other, always hated them.
All in all, doesn't look that bad.
Gameplay looks fine but the visuals and presentation are just miserable. It's not like it looks bad in the sense that it's failed to capture the look or level design of Castlevania, but those design cues just look ugly in 3D. The menus in particular look like stock shit.
>Don't know if it's just a feeling, but the character seems to run somehow slower than in SotN.
Might be because it's widescreen. A lot of the rooms just look larger than you'd be used to as well. It looks the same pace in narrower corridors.
...
Seems like it's just missing a lot of animation polish, but that's to be expected in a beta I guess. Hopefully they get touched up, and I'll be pleased.
The way the character clips through the platform bothers me. Is there no way for them to set the game to draw the character on top of the platform, Z-coordinates be damned?
I really really don't understand the problem people have with this game.
Where is Nathan?
Bloodstained has that indie shading/lighting feel that is common in UE games but are mis-attributed to unity. They are also using objects that are not scaled to each other or not even in the same quality. Hope this changes but I am not optimistic about it.
Man, it's been a while since I played SotN. Alucard's base run always felt like it was too slow for amount of frames it has. When you set the Webm speed to 1.25 both it and Bloodstained run look much better.
man this game's looking hella whack
Jesus christ the background on the right is way too busy, instead of it just being a drab background with cool thunder windows and very noticeable candles it's just a colorful piece of shit with no visual distinction between it and the main character
Is SOTN sped up at the start? It looks like he is running slightly faster than I'm used to.
Having a bigger view/wider view will do this. SOTN has a small one so even if they are walking at the same space, the game feels faster.
when the fuck does it even come out?
That's what I thought, pretty much the same. Like said, it may be because the speed to width of the screen ratio.
There's some cheapness to the visuals, like when she breaks down the wall at 0:50 in the OP's video, but I'm still willing to at least give it a try when it's out.
Looks just like every other overrated castlevania game
Hope to god I can change that shitty outfit
Art direction in this is really bad.
Why is the front of everything lit up by a fucking floodlight? It makes everything look like a cheap playset.
It's supposed to make it obvious what parts are the play area and not the non-interactive background
Castlevania's dead so who cares, it's not like Konami's releasing a game alongside it and you have to choose
Not him it's like inside a mcdonalds or something. Too bright for a game with a dark/medieval feel
It's right there in the first post, they're desperate for another Mighty No. 9 to shitpost about.
They need to up her movement speed and they need to add variety to the “got a shard” soundclip. It’s too unnatural to have the same exact scream every time.
And if Konami WAS releasing a new Castlevania I'd be against supporting them at all anyway
Konami is poised to make so much fucking money during the Olympics and legalization of gambling in Japan. They already have a massive portion of the American casino games market.
It's difficult to understate how few fucks they give about being deprived of a few video game dollars.
I got into this conversation over Metal Gear Survive. If it's a good game you might as well enjoy it; because the company isn't going to give a shit either way.
its slow because they copied playstation era animation optimised to run in a 256x207 frame and blew it up for 1080p so it looks and most likely plays like sluggish dogshit rolling down a bark tree in winter.
...
Let's weight until it's actually out?
wow its looking better than expected
pretty much a 3d clone of the other exploration-based castlevanias
only gripe is not all the backgrounds look good
also the speed is fine but i hope theres a run powerup. would be retarded if backdashing to move was required again
I want to play it! Who gives a fuck what you say!
Not having played any of the Castlevania games, I couldn't exactly say if the speed with which they're getting new skill shards in the E7 demo is reflective of normal game progression. One assumes it's not so weird if they're more paced out than in the video.
it looks alright
i wont back it, i wont buy it probably i will pirate it maybe
Main issue seems to be that the backgrounds are boring and the enemies and characters blend in with it.
They really need to do something with lighting. Looks very cheap.
Why is that?, have they made games lately with lots of dlc?
Had a lengthy angry conversation with a butthurt gamer because I said I am indifferent regarding Konami not caring about vidya games. The money they get from gaming and the money they invest in making games is not worth it to them so even if it's sad we will not get any more games out of them, it's their choice and the butthurt gamer goes on a tirade how konami is bad and I should feel bad because I am not a real gamer or some shit like that. This is a few weeks before that kojima drama or the worker drama so the hate is baseless.
>I-IT'S JU-JUST A BETA!
No. We're desperate for another real Castlevania game. Instead we get this.
I stopped playing games for 2 gens, what bad things did Konami do other than leaving the videogame market?
You better fucking listen to me bitch!
>muh 3D
>It looks fine.
It doesn't, it makes all of the backgrounds look bland and/or boring. It's not bad, just completely uninteresting and makes it look like a cheap knock-off.
Instead you get a game that plays exactly like a Castlevania game?
I look forward to playing it.
Looks too pretentious
